**NEW** A lovely beamed cottage situated near a good local inn, tea rooms and a boating lake in this charming village, with the beach and attractions of Whitby a short drive or c. 20 minute walk. Very well decorated and equipped with plenty of space, it's perfect for a family or three couples. This cottage has such a relaxing air - ideal as a stylish and comfortable base when exploring Yorkshire's beautiful coast with its golden beaches, pretty seaside villages and heritage sites or to simply chill after a long and lazy day on the beach. An idyllic spot, with its enclosed south-facing front terraced garden a suntrap to sit outside and catch the morning sun with that first cup of the day!

A well situated, comfortable and well equipped cottage

An easy walk into Whitby with a traditional village pub serving home cooked food nearby.

Enter this charming house into the long entrance hall with wood laminate flooring plus seating, providing a peaceful spot to sit and read.

The sitting room is spacious, with comfortable sofas, TV/DVD player and gas-fired coal effect fire - it's a gorgeous room to relax in after a day's exploring - put your feet up and watch those movies you've been promising yourself or as it has excellent lighting, catch up on the books you've not had time to read!

The dining room is an ideal spot for enjoying meals together and has an oak table and chairs to comfortably seat six. Whether it's a hearty breakfast to fuel up before a day's walking or discussing the events of the day over supper, before taking a night cap onto the terrace and watching the stars before bedtime, it provides an important meeting place to gather together as friends or family, which is what holidays are all about.

The immaculate kitchen is well-equipped and includes an electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine and has a stable door into a small courtyard to the rear.

The first bedroom is light and airy and has a king size bed, wardrobe and bedside tables with good lighting if you like to read before lights out, a walk-in closet and an original fireplace (decorative). There is also a pretty twin bedroom, accessorised with seaside-inspired accents of blue, with full size 3' single brass beds, central bedside table and a closet. The house bathroom is smart with a bath, shower over the bath, WC and hand wash basin.

This floor is dedicated to a good-size master bedroom suite with a comfortable double bed, bedside tables with drawers, a chest of drawers, easy chair, full length mirror plus an en-suite shower room with shower, WC and hand wash basin in a vanity unit.

To the outside, at the front, is an enclosed gravelled terraced garden with plants in pots for a splash of colour during the spring and summer, bordered by a evergreen Laurel hedge which gives shelter and privacy with its vivid green leaves all year round. South-facing, it's quite a sun trap and has a table and chairs so you can enjoy al fresco drinks, whether your preference is a morning cuppa or sipping chilled Prosecco before supper is served (or both)!

Sunnyside is located in the village of Ruswarp just a mile from the historic port of Whitby. Providing spacious accommodation, this property is ideal for family groups wishing to spend time together in this beautiful part of the country. Ruswarp is an idyllic and picturesque village situated on the banks of the river Esk. The river is tidal to this point and seals swim up from the harbour and bask on the weir. Whilst as close to Whitby as Sandsend, the village is quiet and peaceful yet all the amenities, beach and the heritage of Whitby are just a five minute drive away.

Communication a little erratic with Yorkshire Coastal Cottages. Slightly concerned about cleanliness of property given previous reviews so contacted YCC to make sure it would be fully clean for our arrival. Mostly clean but random things (like a sweet wrapper, glasses wipe, foil top) under edge of beds. Skirting boards dusty and no mattress protector on double bed. Cottage is very nice, location very good but slight wrinkles to be ironed out.

Mr Nunnerley
We had to report the uncleanness of the refuse bins. They were cram packed and were infested with maggots. We sorted out the bin for collection which was an ordeal. Secondly we reported the letterbox which was broken and badly in need of repair. Thirdly we reported the shower cubicle which came of the runners. The runners were gunged up and needed to be thoroughly cleaned.
Mr Green
The cottage was not ready at 3pm so we had to stand outside on the road with our luggage for 45 mins while the cleaners were there. The cottage was very dirty. There was a dog toy under the chair from what must have been a past resident. There was breakfast cereal on the living room floor that hadn't been cleaned up. One of the bedrooms hadn't been cleaned at all as there were cut toe nails on the floor. The shower in the en-suite was very dirty.
Mrs Clapham
We loved everything about this cottage. Home from home. Thank you for the welcome pack. Will definitely return, soon hopefully!
