The property

Lying in the small North Yorkshire town of Boroughbridge is this mid-terrace cottage, Roecliffe, offering a fantastic touring base for visiting York and Harrogate.

Accommodating up to four guests, Roecliffe is within a stone's throw of Boroughbridge's amenities, and enjoys all the home comforts for an excellent self-catered stay. On entering the property, be greeted by the entrance hallway before heading into the homely sitting room, where two pink sofas offer inviting spots to relax, with a TV to entertain and a gas fire to add extra warmth in the winter months.

The kitchen/diner is beyond here, home to a fitted kitchen equipped with several appliances and a dining table to gather around, while a utility area with further amenities adjoins this space including a washer/dryer.

When the day comes to an end, head upstairs to find a lovely king-size bedroom to retreat to, with a bathroom on this floor too home to a bath with an overhead shower. Continue up to the second floor to find the attic bedroom home to a double bed and resting beneath Velux windows.

Enjoy a morning cup of tea in the front yard before you embark on your adventures, with the town of Boroughbridge home to a host of shops and pubs to browse and enjoy before and after your days out. Head over to the spa town of Harrogate for a special trip to Bettys Café Tea Rooms for some afternoon tea, before exploring the town's many delights including the Mercer Art Gallery, Valley Gardens, The Stray and the Royal Pump Room Museum.

Closer to home is Newby Hall & Gardens consisting of 25 acres of grounds home to a large Georgian house and a children's adventure playground. A trip to the cathedral city of York is not to be missed, with the quaint cobbled streets like the historic Shambles lined with independent shops and eateries, as well as plenty of attractions; visit the JORVIK Viking Centre to get a taste of Viking life in the recreated village, see The York Dungeon and York Castle Museum for a look into the past, and admire the wonderful York Minster and Clifford's Tower.

The Howardian Hills AONB is within easy reach, bursting with unspoilt countryside to roam on bike or foot, as well as the Nidderdale AONB offering some lovely walking areas too.

Boroughbridge is a small town and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is situated approximately 16 miles north-west from the county town of York. The town has a great collection of cafes, restaurants and cosy pubs. There is easy access onto the canal and beautiful walks along the River Ure with many boats and the opportunity to do some fishing. Staveley Nature Reserve is nearby where the superb wetland habitat offers regular sightings of birds, otters and several species of orchid. The village of Aldborough is within easy walking distance where you will find many Roman remains. The annual Aldborough and Boroughbridge Show is a fabulous day out for all the family and the Northern Aldborough Festival is one of the most prestigious classical music events in the country. Boroughbridge is a fantastic base for Knaresborough, Harrogate, Ripon and York.
