Location

Location

FILEY

Located on one of the most naturally beautiful stretches of the Yorkshire coast, The Bay at Filey is an exclusive development of quality holiday cottages, fronted by six miles of golden beach and boasting superb amenities, off the A165 Filey to Bridlington road.

We loved the cottage but felt it was a bit lacking in kitchen utensils

A welcome pack would have been really useful. We also reported a few issues such as loose toilet seat, broken/stiff window frames, broken toilet roll holder. On the whole though we found it clean and comfortable and we loved The Bay resort and Filey itself.

What's on nearby?

FILEY

Filey is a popular choice and is reminiscent of childhood holidays – an elegant and tranquil seaside town boasting a beautiful, award-winning beach, charming shops and plenty of activities for all the family.

FILEY BEACH With miles of golden, sandy beach nearby – recently voted the UK’s Best Beach in 2018 – there’s always plenty of room for the little ones to let off some steam and for the adults to walk for miles uninterrupted.

Or try your hand at water sports such as sailing or surfing or just settle down in a deck chair with a good book and enjoy the sunshine.

THE COBLE LANDING Lined with boats and kiosks selling coffee, tea, seaside snacks and even those ever-popular bacon sandwiches, The Coble Landing is a must to enjoy the views before a walk along the spacious promenade, dotted with coastal themed sculptures.

THE FILEY BRIGG You can walk to the tip of this narrow rock peninsular during low tide and maybe see a seal, sunbathing on the rocks.

The cliff top above The Brigg forms part of the Country Park, which is popular with picnickers, birdwatchers and hang-gliders and is the start of The Wolds Way.

FILEY MUSEUM A past winner of Discover Yorkshire Coast’s Small Attraction of the Year award, is housed in a building dating from 1696, and is crammed with fascinating memorabilia, including an extensive photographic archive.

BEMPTON CLIFFS Bird Lovers will love the nature reserve at Bempton Cliffs to see the 250,000 guillemots, gannets and puffins who flock there to raise their young between April and August.

It is a haven for birds and animals, including an important colony of great-crested newts and has an interesting Visitor Centre.

Mr Gardner
We liked the layout and position of this cottage. The proximity to the swimming pool and the lane down to the beach was useful with the children. Found it short of some of the basics (dishwasher tabs, pan scrub and dishcloth), didn't realise these items were included in the package until I got home and read the welcoming e-mail! Think the information pack in the cottage could have been better presented. More crockery would have been useful. Non of these factors spoiled our holiday, we had a lovely stay!
