Mr Seymour
A welcome return to Beachside. Property very clean and well prepared. Hope to return! Is it a policy of the Council for the street light immediately outside not to work any more, as it is very dark coming up the steps at night. If so, a cottage outside light would be useful.
Mrs Chivers
It was brilliant! My family met for the first time in 18 months, the sun shone and the icing on the cake ........ we saw 3 dolphins from the window of the cottage!!!! It was so good that the day I came home was the day I booked it again for next year! Thank you
Ms Browning
We enjoyed everything about this property but the sea views are the special factor. It would be nice to have an outdoor space but we obviously knew that.
Mrs Archer
The rugs in the cottage were not very clean and everywhere was tired decor wise the coconut stair carpet not great either Lack of information about recycling bins was frustrating as we had to bring recycling home with us The bedding and towels were very very clean Two keys would have been useful Having said all the above we had a lovely holiday and the cottage is in a great location A lick of paint and new Rugs and stair carpet would have us all As regular visitors We go with our daughter and family each august for a beach holiday and everywhere else had welcome pack of bread and milk and fruit (or similar) and this would have been a nice touch
Mrs Lupton
Great location. Nice historic house. Some really well done up bathrooms and generally loved the way features and old timber have been kept. There was not enough information about recycling and compost. Does it go in the one same bin? My fear was that it is all incinerated and my hope it is separated.
Mr Cornelius
A rather disappointing stay at Beachside cottage overall. This cottage was advertised as luxury and hand picked but I am afraid it did not meet these expectations. The kitchen was far too small for the size of the property and there was limited comfortable seating in the lounge for eight people. There were dog hairs and it was quite dusty. The paintwork was shabby in places and plaster was coming off some walls. There were no cleaning materials , spare bin bags , only 2 tea towels , given the pandemic I would have expected some sanitizer and wipes at least. In this respect this was the most poorly equipped cottage I have stayed in for forty years. All small things but I didn’t really want to have to stock up on cleaning materials while on holiday. On a positive note the beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of crockery and cutlery so the dishwasher could be used when I had bought some dishwasher tablets. It was not luxury I am afraid but luckily we had fantastic weather.
Mrs Ekins
We've had a lovely week (helped by great weather !) in this comfortable and well equipped cottage. Great meal out at the Marine Hotel Restaurant. Lovely walking and wonderful scenery - The Esk valley to Grosmont and train back to Whitby was a fab day out.
An extremely clean, excellent property. We were very impressed. Dalby Forest Drive, Staithes and Robin Hoods Bay were well worth visiting. For us Trenchers was certainly the best place to eat. We would certainly like to return to Whitby and this cottage.
We had a fabulous time! Property very qell equipped, lovely decor, comfy beds, great showers and great location.
Smith Party
