Situated in one of the best locations in Sandsend overlooking the beach and with stunning long distance views of Whitby, a fabulous period style cottage with excellent fittings and furnishings. A gorgeous picturesque cottage on the seafront with fabulous, uninterrupted sea views across the bay towards Whitby, this charming and cosy property has been featured in the Yorkshire Post’s Interiors section. Located in the heart of this popular and unspoilt village, the cottage is ideal for a family, two couples or even as a romantic retreat for two. It has a lovely enclosed front garden, that has a lawn and pretty planted borders, and a table with seating so you can enjoy meals outside, or just a glass of something chilled and relax, whilst looking out to sea.

Really lovely sea side cottage

Well laid out and a perfect location for a stay by the coast. Had A lovely bright, fresh decor with a coastal theme. Great central heating and a log burner. High standard bathroom suite with a great power shower and cubicle. Lovely comfortable bedrooms, with the front bedroom having fabulous views of the sea. Great front garden, with wooden furniture and stunning sea views. Suggestions- Would benefit from WiFi. Also the arms on the sofa /chairs could do with a refresh and the kitchen would benefit greatly from a new and more efficient hob. Parking is difficult (but no ones fault) but the pay off is being so close to the beach - perfect. I would definitely both return and recommend.

WHITBY

Ebor Cottage South is prominently situated in the centre of Sandsend village a few yards to the Whitby side of the Sandsend Stores, directly opposite the beach. The entrance is shared with the cottage next door, climb the steps and turn immediately left.

The lock on the front door was very difficult to work and on arrival we ended up accessing property through the side door

This needs looking at. The electric hob of the cooker is extremely old (1970's?) and we found it difficult to use. The temperature indicators had worn off (no doubt because it was old) and the solid electric plates took ages to warm up and hopeless to cool down. In a property of this type we would expect a modern controllable cooker! A dish washer would have been good - but we appreciate it did not advertise one. Wi -fi would also have been good. The cottage had a fabulous view and you could sit in the sunshine all day in the garden/front terrace, which few properties in Sandsend could match. Lovely comfortable bed and good reading light - most unusual!

Mrs Roe
Absolutely loved this cottage and its setting overlooking the sea. It is cosy, well equipped and in the most perfect location. We had a fabulous week and will most definitely be coming back. Thank you very much.
Ms Smith
We love staying at Ebor Cottage, the location is perfect, but we were a bit disappointed this year that there were a few things missing or broken (I did report this when I handed the key back), I wouldn't want the quality to slip because we'd really like to stay again knowing it was at Yorkshire Costal Cottages high standards. And as I say every year, if there was internet at the cottage it would make it perfect!
Mrs Walker
Lovely week. Excellent location and local facilities. Superb! Would definitely book again.
Ward Party
A beautiful little cottage with stunning views all the way up to Whitby. We particularly enjoyed sitting at the dining table in the evening and enjoying a gin and tonic whilst watching the waves. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking tools - perfect for us as we like to cook and dine in.
Long Party
Loved the cottage location and the ever changing sea views!
Lynch Party
