The Ticket Office Allerston is a single-story, adult-only, former railway ticket office in the North Yorkshire village of Allsterton that has been the recipient of the National Highways Award for Restoration on a Closed Line.

This superb accommodation is a fantastic retreat for two couples or friends sharing, with quality furnishings and easy access to the magnificent coast and picture-perfect countryside.

Train and railway enthusiasts will appreciate the one-of-a-kind nature of this offering, which includes three railway carriages and a wealth of heritage to discover on this 3-acre historic site.

When you arrive at this fantastic property, look for off-road parking to make unloading your bags in your temporary home away from home a breeze.

The large living/dining room with large Chesterfield sofas and a toasty woodburning stove, as well as plenty of wood supplies for cosying up in front of the flickering fire on cooler evenings.

After a day of exploring, either two twin beds or king-size double bedrooms complete the interior of the home, each with plenty of storage for your belongings and a convenient en-suite shower room that makes it easy to freshen up after a day out.

The accommodation's ground-floor location makes it ideal for those with limited mobility, as well as easy access to the garden area, where you can spend warmer evenings with a glass of wine in hand.

The 16 mile Forge Valley Line, opened on May 1, 1882 by the North Eastern Railway Co., is right outside your door.

Wilton Station, in the nearby village of Allerston, was renamed Ebberston in 1903.

The village of Ebberston is only one mile east of Allerston, and the line's last passenger train ran on June 3, 1950.

If you can tear yourself away from this magnificent vacation home, there is plenty to see and do within a short driving distance, including the sweeping coastlines of Scarborough, where there are plenty of pubs and restaurants, as well as the imposing Scarborough Castle and plenty of coastal walks to enjoy.

Pickering 3 miles; Scarborough 16 miles; York 25 miles.

The beautiful village of Thornton-le-Dale lies just two miles to the east of Pickering within The North York Moors National Park and the Dalby Forest. This is an idyllic location at the head of a beautiful valley and is a walkers, bikers and nature lovers paradise. Scarborough and Whitby are 13 and 20 miles away and offer all the amenities and facilities of two of the country's best coastal resorts. York and Castle Howard are about an hours drive away and offer all the history and culture that any holiday would need. The neighbouring market towns of Pickering, Malton, Kirbymoorside and Helmsley are great destinations and are the hubs for many summer festivals and shows. The National Park and Coastline offer many opportunities for a great day out. The North York Moors National Park is on the doorstep with miles of open moor to wander through.
