Miss Hibbard
We had a lovely relaxing time in a very comfortable well equipped cottage. The welcome pack was a nice surprise and we enjoyed the local produce included. We had a couple of lovely afternoons sheltering from the weather in the Green Dragon tap house trying their ales and ciders whilst chatting away with other customers like we where old friends. Our dogs loved running round on the beaches and where thoroughly exhausted by the end of the week! We would highly recommend the Flying Scotsman if visiting Whitby.
Mrs Jones
Really disappointed, property needs a bit of updating. Plaster peeling off walls in lounge and kitchen. Plug doesn’t fit properly in bath, all you here is water running out, not at all relaxing! Kitchen lighting inadequate, could not get extractor fan to work. Did not try to hard as it was not clean. Same with bin,lid dirty. Bin in yard overfiul and pile of rubbish next to it. Complained on day of arrival, nothing done about it.Overall just tired and over priced, as I said disappointing.
Mrs Leitch
I tried to contact Yorkshire Coastal Cottages regards where their office was in Whitby to pick up extra parking tickets, but after 75 minutes I gave up. I managed to google the address of the office but this was never open for the 3 days we were there, so we was unable to get extra parking tickets. On the first night one of the group cut their foot on glass which was at the foot of the stairs from the previous booking, and we then cleared the fine bits of glass up from this area. Other items which were not in working were - The Toaster - Bedside lamp in the top bedroom - Sky light window blind found on bedroom floor and would not fix back in - Bath would not hold water due to worn seal on plug. There was also no instruction for bin collection, and the green bin was full with rubbish and broken glass. Because of the gulls we had to bag our rubbish and leave in the utility room. Dragged both bins to the front of the property as we didn't know which bin was due emptying or where the collection point was. Glass and rubbish was also strewn all over the back yard. I left a letter with the above points on the kitchen table when we vacated. The letter was not a complaint, but for your information and that nothing would be blamed on our group regarding the above problems.
