“An excellent cottage in a very good location.”

We were a family group and everyone was happy overall. some beds were too soft others fine. For families with children maybe more smaller glasses, better cutlery .These were minor details as we all loved the house, the decor and the accessability. We would definitely stay again.

The property

Adventure House is a charming abode nestled into the centre of the historic town of Whitby, tucked away down a peaceful yard just steps away from the bustle of one of the most popular streets in Whitby, lined with welcoming traditional pubs, quirky cafés, and independent shops.

The property rests in the heart of the town, with all of the attractions within easy reach, making it a great choice for family and friends, as the house is spacious, with everything you could desire for a self-catered stay.

On the ground floor you have the open plan kitchen/dining room, which is the hub of the house.

Sage cabinets with wooden worktops give this kitchen a fresh country feel.

Head into the living room to unwind after a busy day exploring the glorious Yorkshire coastline.

Here you have sofas around the large Smart TV and the feature fireplace, perfect for movie nights in, or even enjoying a board game together to create special memories.

Take the stairs up to the first floor and you will find the first two bedrooms one with a ensuite as well as the family bathroom.

Up on the second floor you have a further two bedrooms as well as the added convenience of a WC.

Adventure House is located on Flowergate on the west side of Whitby, just a short walk to the swing bridge which connects the two halves of the town.

Flowergate is a haven of unique cafés with freshly homemade treats to tempt you in, as well as an artist’s studio, where you can watch as the artist paints atmospheric seascapes in the shop window.

There is also an array of independent shops to browse through and an eclectic mix of traditional old pubs and modern quirky bars.

The glorious long golden beach stretching all the way to Sandsend is only a short walk away, or for family fun there are the arcades on pier road and children love to try their luck at crabbing at kiddies corner by the bridge.

The East side of Whitby has the narrow, cobbled streets, with the 199 steps leading up to St Marys Church and the gothic ruins of Whitby Abbey.

The town is steeped in history, which you can explore further at one of the museums or on one of the ghost walks.

Surrounding Whitby you have the picturesque North York Moors National Park, with vast rolling moorland and ancient forests, laced with walking trails.

Along the coast there are some unmissable little bays and fishing villages which are all perfect for days out, including Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes and Runswick Bay.

For the adventurous why not join the local surf school or hire a rowing boat or kayak for a sunny day along the river Esk, ziplining in Dalby Forest, or hire a bike for a ride along the cinder track which takes you from Whitby to Robin Hoods Bay and beyond?

Flamingo Land theme park and zoo is also near so there are attractions nearby for everyone!

Even your four-legged family members are catered for as the town is very dog-friendly, sections of the beach are dog-friendly all year round and most cafés and pubs welcome dogs, there is even a dog bakery nearby!

Make unforgettable memories with a stay at Adventure House.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £450.
