We had an absolutely amazing time! The cottage is in a great location, and was super close to the train station so it was perfect for us going back and forth from the Goth Weekend attractions

Located in Whitby, North Yorkshire, Motherwell House is a characterful three-story, mid-terraced home built in 1866. When you're looking to get the most of both the country and the coast, Motherwell House is the ideal location for a group or family of five to explore both. Make dinner in the well-equipped kitchen, which hosts a dishwasher, and enjoy a bottle of wine while you reminisce about your day’s activities around the dining table Your very own small private yard, brightly painted and protected from rain, is the perfect place to enjoy the last rays of the day after supper. The house is ideally situated on the side of the street which gives pleasant, cool shade in the main rooms on hot summer days. Yet, the new boiler and efficient heating system makes the house very cosy in the cooler months. The electric fire in the sitting area provides an inviting warmth as the evening wears on, so you can curl up on the plush sofa and watch a favourite movie or play a board game with your loved ones. You'll find a king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom on the first floor, both of which have access to a bathroom. perfect for soaking in the tub or rinsing off sand from the beach with a hot shower. Continue up to the second floor, where you'll find a single room complete with a stairgate and a TV. Please note, these stairs are very steep but the seaside themed rope handrail is very secure. Motherwell House Is ideally situated for accessing many local amenities, with a pub, Chippy, a convenience store and the popular Trenchers restaurant near-by, well-known for its tasty fresh seafood dishes. Whitby boasts some of the best fish and chips in the world but also many restaurants and take-aways serving the cuisine of many different nations.Take a stroll through the town to see Whitby Abbey's Gothic architecture, Whitby Museum, the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, and panoramic views atop the 199 Steps. Everyone can enjoy Whitby, with fishing opportunities along the West Pier and aboard one of the many boat cruises departing Whitby Harbour, beautiful picnic sites in Pannett Park, or live music at the Whitby Pavilion. Consider spending a day at Whitby Beach, where you can bathe and play in the sand while making sandcastles with the kids or take a stroll up the Whitby Harbour West Lighthouse. Perhaps you might consider a whale-watching excursion for an unforgettable experience. Visit Mulgrave Castle and Cawthorn Roman Camp in the North York Moors National Park, as well as beautiful locations including Ingleby Incline, The Wainstones, and Blue Man-in-the-Moss promising breath-taking views.
