A beautiful and luxurious Georgian house, a 5 Star gem in the heart of Whitby, combining space, comfort and elegance and boasting an open fire and garden Luxe Georgian residence, perfect for extended families or groups of friends to enjoy Whitby's treasures in sumptuous comfort, a short stroll from the harbour, stylish bars, traditional tearooms and award-winning restaurants and with the added advantage of space, an open fire and garden.

Excellent accommodation beautifully decorated, great facilities and extremely welcoming and comfortable

Would recommend that visitors investigate the parking in and around Whitby before arrival as the town is extremely busy and parking is extremely difficult in holiday peak times. There are different rules depending on where you park and the permits only give you limited parking and it is very easy to get a parking ticket.

About

Layout

GROUND FLOOR

Enter this stunning Georgian house, which has been renovated and furnished to a very high standard, via the rear entrance and a small courtyard - ideal for storing bikes or beach equipment - into a glorious listed building that has been decorated in neutral Farrow and Ball shades.

The entrance hall leads to a TV room/snug with comfortable seating and a large Smart TV - ideal to access your Netflix account and catch up with movies or box sets! - perfect for teenagers to have their own space or for a group of adults, a separate area to sit and read.

The drawing room has beautiful proportions and boasts an open fire - lovely to light, along with the candles and enjoy a cosy night in - plus a chandelier, large television, book library for guests' use, comfortable seating and views from the elegant, tall sash windows.

The corridor leads to one of the front doors - there's two - which has an external stone, spiral staircase descending down to the front garden below - which is a sun trap - with mature shrubs and beautiful trees including a gorgeous beech which the sun shines dapple light through its fox red leaves. A table, chairs and bench provide a lovely spot for relaxing, catching the sun or maybe later in the day, enjoying pre-dinner drinks?

LOWER GROUND FLOOR

This floor has a well-quipped, large 'living' kitchen with a gas oven, electric hob, coffee machine, microwave, a tall fridge, integral freezer, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer and plenty of storage. It's open plan into the dining room - so the cook can have company! - which has a large, wood table surrounded by comfortable leather chairs plus there's a wall-mounted television. It's a fabulous, spacious room to enjoy breakfast or sit and relax, musing over your adventures over supper, at the end of a lovely day at the coast.

Next to the kitchen is a small games room with a football table - always a favourite! - plus there's a useful WC/cloaks on this floor too.

The corridor, with original tiled floor, leads to the second front door and into the enclosed garden, from which stone steps lead down to the road, accessed via a tall wrought-iron gate.

FIRST FLOOR

This floor has two superb bedrooms; the first is in shades of taupe and greys with sumptuous velvet curtains and toning throws and pillows on the deep and comfortable king size bed; the room also has a TV and plenty of storage with built-in closets. There is a charming en-suite shower room with a shower, WC and hand wash basin.

The second double bedroom is light and airy with an elegant French-style king size bed, TV, chest of drawers and useful closets for storage.

The stylish and immaculate house bathroom is fantastic, tiled in natural stone with a double size walk in shower, a wonderful large, free-standing oval bath, WC and hand wash basin.

SECOND FLOOR

With the advantage of a superb, large bathroom with a free-standing bath, WC and hand wash basin, this floor has two lovely bedrooms - a double bedroom with a comfortable bed plus a charming twin bedroom with full size 3' single beds and seaside-inspired accessories. On the landing is a wardrobe to offer additional storage.

It's a truly superb house and perfect for a larger family or group of friends wanting something special.

WHITBY

Located on the West side of Whitby, this impressive Georgian residence is just a three minute stroll to the town's main shops and supermarket. There are numerous restaurants, bars, cafes and pubs within a five minute walk as well as the golden beach and harbour, with its award-winning restaurants, elegant bars and renowned fish and chip shops. Also nearby, just across the harbour via the swing bridge, is the 'old town' of Whitby with its cobbled streets, quaint shops, famous 199 Steps - worth the climb for the view! - and the iconic Whitby Abbey.

Our Family Group ranged from 1-60yrs and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Old Theatre

It is a wonderful house in a super Location, the bottom floor is a great social space to be all together. The upstairs lounges are beautifully decorated (as is the whole house) and great for chilling out, bedrooms are spacious with lovely comfy beds. Whitby itself is a lovely Coastal Town with something for everyone and the weather was Fantastic for the whole of our week so a great Bonus. This was our first Holiday in Whitby and I am sure will not be our Last. I would highly recommend this House, just leave the car and go exploring . All in all Perfect 20-27/07/2019 Prickett and Roe Family
