“The Garden House is a wing of a lovely old building with high ceilings and period doors and architecture.”

It is a shame that it has been fitted out with rather cheap modern furniture - particularly in the bedrooms (flat pack items and plastic mirrors). The living room furniture is all vinyl covered and not very comfortable. There are no ornaments and very few pictures so it doesn't feel very homely. It is a shame that it has been fitted out with rather cheap modern furniture - particularly in the bedrooms (flat pack items and plastic mirrors). The living room furniture is all vinyl covered and not very comfortable. There are no ornaments and very few pictures so it doesn't feel very homely. Luckily it wasn't too warm when we were there as there is a strange house rule that says you aren't allowed to open any of the rear windows and the windows in the larger bedroom at the front were stuck fast with paint. The only way of letting in any fresh air is to leave the front door open - not very practical at night! The kitchen is quite well equipped but if there were four people staying then a bit more crockery and cutlery would be useful (it only has 6 of everything). It is a good location for the NY Moors and Stokesley is a lovely market town with an excellent selection of small food shops. The beds were comfortable and the house is very spacious but it could be so much better with more appropriate furnishings.

Dear Jonathan, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay at The Garden House. I am very pleased to hear you found the location of the property suitable, the beds comfortable and it was very spacious accommodation. We have recently had the windows painted and I was unaware one of the windows was stuck fast. We will address this forthwith, thank you for letting us know. Whilst we have never had any negative comments regarding the decor, we take on board your observations. Thank you once again for the feedback. Neil (Host) Property Owner
