We’ll be back!

We had such a good time at Lavender Cottage, everything we needed and more!

Ground Floor

The cottage has been really thoughtfully furnished and equipped; enter via the stone-flagged hallway which leads to an open plan living room with comfortable seating, a wood burning stove-style electric fire and a Smart TV/Blu-Ray DVD player, which enables you to access your Netflix account!

There is a dining area where you can sit comfortably and enjoy meals whilst discussing the day’s events, plus a smart and spacious kitchen which has excellent appliances and equipment with beech wood work surfaces, a deep Belfast sink, fridge, freezer, electric oven and hob, a drinks fridge, microwave, washer/dryer and dishwasher.

There is a downstairs cloakroom and WC.

First Floor

A lovely double bedroom has a comfortable 4’6’’ bed with crisp white linens plus a further Smart TV, so you can watch movies whilst snuggled up in bed! The twin bedroom has two full size 3’ single beds. The house bathroom has a bath, shower cubicle, WC and hand wash basin.

As well as private parking, the cottage has the advantage of an enclosed courtyard garden, planted with shrubs and flowers, with a stone-built BBQ and seating, so you can enjoy a morning cuppa or cook and eat supper outside in the evening.

There is use of a superb hot tub – perfect for relaxing after a day on the beach or a long hike! – with views over rolling countryside towards the sea and Scarborough Castle. A grassed picnic area, bordered by trees, has tables and chairs and views over the neighbouring pastures.

There’s a very useful facility of a drying room with private lockers for airing swimming costumes and beach towels plus a dog shower for washing salt and sand off your pet’s coat. Why not bring your bike? There is a bike storage and maintenance facility, whether you’re an expert cyclist or just fancy a gentle pedal locally!

We adore the wonderful farm shop which is on-site selling quality local produce from cheeses and bread, to deli and savoury snacks, as well as lovely gifts and a cafe to enjoy scones with cream – or bacon sandwiches for breakfast that can be delivered to your cottage!

The nearby inn is excellent and serves very good food if you don’t want to cook – but we recommend that you book in advance during the summertime!
