    “UNCOMFORTABLE STAY.”

In future i will take better note of other people's comments. Having read several previous comments about the chairs in the front room, we assumed the owner would have changed the furniture but sadly that hadn't happened. It was impossible to relax in rock hard, threadbare chairs and the armchair covers were very dirty and hadn't seen a washing machine in a long time. You can feel all the wood and metal in the arms of the chairs as the padding has gone. The double bed mattress sags both sides so i lacked sleep most nights and got back ache in the chairs and the bed. When we arrived, we went into the garden with our dogs and one of them walked over a small pile of glass from a vase that had been left in the garden and had gotten broken. The cups were stained and every plate, pot and pan had food stuck to it so i spent the evening washing crockery. The boot room door that leads to the back garden is flimsy and one hard pull and someone will be able to break in. Crumbs and plastic left behind a sofa. All in all, for the money, i'm honestly shocked and we will never stay again. When you've had a full day of activities, you want to chill out and watch tv, but that was totally impossible due to the bad furniture. Its worn, aged. All those comments about it being dated is so true. It looks like your nans house. Also No logs were left for the fire. Normally you are left a courtesy basket of logs but not in this house.

About the location

SANDSEND

Whitby 2.5 miles.

Lying on Yorkshire's spectacular Heritage Coastline, Sandsend is the ideal place for a family holiday with its award winning, wide sweeping beaches, rock pools and dramatic cliffs. Indeed this part of the coastline is known locally as the Dinosaur Coast because of the many fossils found here. Children will enjoy damming the little beck where it crosses the beach to form a freshwater lagoon - great (and safe) for paddling and boating! For the more energetic the village sits on the lovely long distance Cleveland Way Trail, which offers great off-road cycling along the disused coastal railway as well as breathtaking clifftop walks. The National Trust now own the nearby headland, Sandsend Ness, where there is a delightful nature trail in the old quarry pits. A special place offering something for everyone!

Wi-Fi: Free Wi-Fi included. Pets: Pets are welcome for £30.00 per pet per stay. Parking: Private parking for two cars.
