Surrounded by rolling countryside, this charming property has just been renovated, decorated and furnished, so it's immaculate.

Threshers Cottage is an attractive barn conversion providing comfortable holiday accommodation, a perfect base for those who like a tranquil and picturesque location on the Yorkshire coast.

A Pretty Place

All set in the beautiful countryside, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here.

Layout

Ground Floor

The entrance hall leads to a well-equipped kitchen with double electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine/dryer.

There is a lovely dining room – what better than to enjoy breakfast together or to sit at dinner, discussing the day’s adventures?

The sitting room has comfortable seating, TV/DVD and a wood burning stove – perfect for cosying up in front of on those cooler nights!

The ground floor also has a shower room with shower, WC and hand wash basin.

First Floor

Upstairs are two bedrooms that look out over the beautiful meadows. There is a large family bedroom with king size bed plus a day bed. A twin bedroom has two full size 3′ single beds.

The bedrooms share a ‘Jack and Jill’ bathroom (access from both bedrooms) in the middle with a bath, WC and hand wash basin.

Please note, access to the twin bedroom is via the master bedroom, so this cottage is particularly suitable for families with children.

Outside

Outside is an enclosed garden area with terrace, seating and BBQ.

Threshers Cottage at Hayburn Beck Farm is set in glorious open countryside 2 miles north of the village of Cloughton, 5 miles from Scarborough with the beach a 25 minute walk or 5 minute drive with free parking there.

A family run attraction with lots to see and do., with Lavender Fields – a pleasant nature walk, tea room and unique gift shop.

Scarborough to Whitby Rail Trail

This former railway line which closed in 1923 is now open to walkers and cyclists. Known as the ‘Cinder Track’, it takes you through the North Yorks Moors National Park with options to take several detours to visit places such as Cloughton Wyke, the Cleveland Way and Stoupe Beck Sands.

Scarborough Castle

The 12th century castle conceals over 2,500 years of turbulent history and is well worth a visit when in Scarborough. Specially constructed viewing platforms offers visitors wonderful views of the coastline and town.

Sea Life Centre

Overlooking the North Bay and home to thousands of sea creatures as well as a busy hospital for orphaned and injured seal pups. See their Humboldt Penguins and collection of Giant Japanese Spider Crabs!

North Yorkshire Moors Railway

One of the country’s most popular steam railways, covering 18 miles between the market town of Pickering and the village of Grosmont, travelling through the heart of the North York Moors National Park.

Bempton Cliffs

If bird watching is your passion, then the magnificent cliffs of Bempton can showcase Puffins at certain times of the year.

Parking: There is private parking for two cars.

Note: This property can be booked with Mistal Cottage, next door, to sleep up to 9 people or with Hayburn Beck Farmhouse, which has a hot tub, for parties of up to 16 people.

Situated in an unspoilt area on the edge of the North Yorks Moors National Park Mistal Cottage is an ideal base for family holidays or short breaks. Close by are the towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Ravenscar, The Cleveland Way is also nearby for walking holidays or cycling holidays.

Cloughton village 2 miles away which has a post office, shop and pubs which serve excellent meals.

Also ideally placed for fishing, golf, pony trekking, moutain biking and swimming, all of which are available locally. Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, National Trust and visitor centres are all within easy driving distance.

Additionally, there is access nearby to the disused railway track which now provides a walkway/cycleway between Scarborough.

A lovely homely cottage for our first stay on the Yorkshire Coast. We've really enjoyed walking down the cinder track to the station tea rooms in Claughton and then to the beach in Rayburn Wyke. We loved the peace and tranquility, we would love to return!
