Parking available right in front of the cottage.

Always a bonus for unpacking when you arrive.The cottage was in a fantastic position.Not far from the beach walk and close to the dog friendly pub that serves meals.The cottage had everything needed for our stay and the owner had provided a welcome package of milk and food which was greatly appretiated.The farmhouse biscuits were particularly lovely thankyou.The cottage was clean and comfortable and I hope to stay there again.Had a fabulous holiday.

We stayed at Silversands for a week with our two Chihuahua dogs.

We had a great time, the cottage is lovely, very well equipped, comfy beds and very cosy. A lovely welcome pack on our arrival was much appreciated. It’s the perfect base for visiting the Yorkshire coastline. A lovely walk down to the beach but quite a steep walk on the way back

Beds were comfy and plenty of cutlery and plates.

Brilliant location . Could do with black out blinds and also a blind on the front door. The back patio door stuck too Apart from that will go again and the hamper was a nice touch

Everything was to our satisfaction but would like to point out that in the downstairs toilet if you got hold of the radiator one bracket came away from the wall which swung it outwards into the room.

I would like to say that overall we enjoyed our stay at Silversands but a few things should be addressed in your description.

Ample parking - whilst there is parking directly in front of the cottage but anyone can park there. We only found it a problem on one day but it would have been difficult when unloading and loading if the space wasn’t available. In the folder it says it’s not reserved so it was a bit of a free for all. There is no mention of Silversands being on The Bay resort. If we’d known it was on a resort we wouldn’t have booked it. From your description we got the impression that it was in Filey but it’s in Reighton. There is no mention of the free use of the pool and gym on site so we didn’t bring any gym or swim wear. The garden is not really a garden is it? And it’s not private. The comments below are for the owner if you could please pass them on: They ask us not to put the dishwasher on unless it’s full - in order to adhere to this more knives and teaspoons are needed. There was only two of us staying and we did not cook so found we ran out of cereal bowls too. There was no milk provided. No dish cloths - luckily I had brought some kitchen roll to clean work surfaces. The only food cupboard was quite small and full of crumbs. The TV control isn’t working very well so may need new batteries or a new control as the battery area was taped. Upstairs: The lower arm of the shower wouldn’t stay up very well so needs some attention. I slept in one of the single beds which could do with fitted sheets as I found myself having to adjust the lower sheet every day. Also better quality sheets and pillow cases would be nice. Having said all this we would come again if the above problems were addressed.

We were very happy staying at Silversands, would again, and recommend it.

It was our first visit to The Bay. The property is at the beach end of the complex and close to the central pub/shop. Including a windbreak, camping chairs was thoughtful and we were grateful to use them. The only reason that I've marked down comfort is that the springs could be felt through one of the single mattresses. Otherwise - delighted.

When we arrived there was no power or lighting downstairs.

I contacted the emergency number but while waiting for them to reply I found the fusebox and located the circuit breaker that had tripped out. Just a bit surprised that there was this problem. We would have preferred the bedding to have been changed at the end of our first week of our two week stay. The holiday weather was very warm and the duvets were much too hot. Summer duvets with a much lower tog are needed. The cutlery, plates, cups and mugs were all a bit dated. Having raised those points I must say that overall we really enjoyed Silversands and the Bay The cottage has every possible home accessory you could think of. The shower was really great. We would recommend Silversands. Good value for money and an excellent location for visiting this part of Yorkshire.

As a couple of Seniors we did not make use of all the extras that were provided, but we were so impressed at how homely and welcoming it was, with everything we could possibly need for a holiday. Ideal too for people with children. The bed was just so comfortable too. Also a big thank you for the welcome pack, so unexpected and generous of you. I wish I could give you 11/10! We will definitely try and stay here again.

Booked at really short notice, less than 24hrs however the property was immaculate, the welcome pack appreciated as was walking in to a warm house on an extremely cold day!

This is our 2nd visit to Silversands, doesn't disappoint, really good property and really good location, will book again when staying on Filey bay!

We have stayed in many of the homes in The Bay and Silversands tops the lot by a mile.

The cottage felt welcoming as soon as we stepped through the door and we were very relaxed, ready to enjoy our break straightaway. It was very clean, well stocked and had a lovely welcoming basket.

We have stayed in Silversands several times now.

. We like the property and the location. My only negative is we did receive a welcome pack which we always have previously.. It meant following a late arrival due to work commitments we had to drive into Filey to buy milk..

The house was very comfortable with everything we needed for a short break and it was very clean.

It is well situated for the nearby beach and also for trips to places of interest. We really enjoyed our time there.

I stay at The Bay at least twice a year for at least a week each time, and have done for many years.

I’ve stayed in many properties there, but of all my stays this was probably my favourite. The property is lovely, warm, and cosy but spacious. It has good WiFi (key when working away) and smart TVs in each room. Its location is great, right in the middle of the beach and the park facilities. The property has its own parking space at the front of the house, great when you’re staying a while or just like to pack a lot! The property had a small Christmas tree and some small festive touches, and came with a lovely welcome gift pack, a really beautiful touch. I can think of no cons, one recommendation may be to install a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs (I’ve had this in previous properties and it’s great to stop kids and dogs running up and down the stairs) but wasn’t essential. Overall a really lovely stay, I’d highly recommend and will most likely look to stay there again on one of our return trips.

Lovely place, conveniently located near the Bay amenities and 10 minute walk from the beach.

Great little welcome pack with bread, jams, eggs from local shop. Well thought out for babies and toddlers, with a high chair, cot, stool and toddler toilet seat. Plenty of cupboard and drawer space for unpacking. The bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately there was dog hair on a couple of the pillows in the main bedroom, so we swapped with pillows from the other bedroom. The shower was nice and powerful! However the owners may want to consider getting a slightly larger shower screen as the water does get past, we can see it has already caused some damage on the floor. Hand towels for the bathrooms would be a nice addition. Unfortunately the property wasn’t as clean as I expected, but that can easily be resolved with a deep clean and wouldn’t stop us coming back. Overall a nice property in a great location!

We stopped last year and it was fantastic, this year we were expecting the property to be the same and have the same experience, but unfortunately in some areas it was poor.

On arrival we had no arrival treats as previous - although they did arrive the next evening. The property was not that clean, i had to go around and clean several areas as they were black with hand prints - Banister and nearly every light switch, the skirting is pretty grubby in places and that really doesn't bother me that much and is expected, but not where we touch. The bedding was also strange the bottom sheet was not designed for the bed and subsequently did not fit, woke in the morning wrapped in the dammed thing. Overall we had a great week, just think that the owners need to take the property off hire for a week and bring it back to a better standard.

This is our 2nd stay at Silversands.

We have enjoyed it on both occasions. The house is clean,comfortable and cosy. It feels like home from home. It is in an ideal location for the beach with our 2 dogs. I cannot fault the property in any way. We wanted to return in September but unfortunately the week we wanted is fully booked.

We have just come back from a great break at Silversands.

The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay and being so close to the beach is great for our 2 dogs. We will definitely be back

We have had the most wonderful time at Silversands!

It was clean, spacious, well set out and smelled lovely as we entered. Everything was provided and wanted for nothing and we were given the best welcome pack I’ve ever seen. The location of the property on the site is perfect for the beach and site amenities and there is a handy bus stop outside the entrance. The bedrooms are lovely with plenty of drawer and hanging space and the beds, pillows and duvet are really comfortable. We wanted for nothing on our holiday here, even the weather was perfect. Would we stay here again - absolutely!!!!! Thank you

This was our first stay at Silversands, hope it wont be the only visit.

This was the 1st holiday I have booked through Sykes also..very pleased with the booking. The location was excellent as it was close to the beach and we had brought our 2 dogs with us. We could see the sea from our bedroom window. The cottage was clean and comfortable. We noticed there was no toaster so we contacted Sykes. Within minutes the cottages owner had phoned us and within 30 mins a brand new toaster....and a bottle of wine appeared....best service ever....and toast!

Lovely little house in a beautiful setting and perfect location wise, we got a delivery from the owner with bread, butter, eggs and jams from a local farm shop which was a lovely little touch and I would truly love to stay here again and will certainly recommend Silversands as accommodation to friends.

The drawbacks are the facilities on site, mainly that the shop only opens until 6 and there's not much else nearby, so be prepared. The pub is very expensive and the staff there also manage the arcade which gives the kids tickets they can exchange for prices but they were generally to busy to leave the pub and et them cash them in for the kids and food/ drink serving generally just felt poorly organised. However, the staff were lovely and hard working staff so I this is not a reflection of that, more that The Bay itself as a place just feels like it needs some extra facilities. Another eatery, perhaps a coffee bar & sports bar, a football pitch or similar?

Fabulous location with the path to the beach a short stroll away.

Having a large porch with a radiator was great as we had 2 dogs with us, plenty of space to get them dry after playing in the sea. Gwyn & Sally have provided very comfy furniture and beds, a real home from home. The property is on a stunning holiday estate, with its own pub, shop, arcade, cafe, pharmacy and gym with a swimming pool. Looking forward to our return visit next October.

The cottage was home from home.

Very comfortable. It is in a perfect position within The Bay. 5 mins to the beach and the same to the pub. It was spotless. Fresh clean bed linen. Coronavirus was dealt with effectively. No need to have to bring anything as everything was supplied. Towels, cleaning products, hand soap in bathroom and downstairs toilet. Even a pint of milk in the fridge. Would definitely go back and comes highly recommended from us.

It would have been excellent if it had an enclosed garden for my 2 dogs
