“Top holme cottage is a lovely little
Cottage.”
Situated on the outskirts of the main village, which has 2 pubs just 1 that does food, 10 mintes by car away from shops as no other conveniences but is great for walking.
The cottage itself was perfect for our stay, access is off the road and so you do get some traffic noise. It was clean, warm and comfortable and has a great shower, the bathroom is at the end of the kitchen. Thers is a very small outside area in an enclosed yard.
It did occur to me that if it had been wet there wasnt really anywhere to put coats boats walking gear etc without bringing it into the kitchen. I would have been concerned about marking the decor.
Wood burner in the living room which we didnt use,, whilst it was very cold while we stayed the heating was plenty as we were not in that much. The heat does escape up.the feature cast iron spiral staircase, so bedroom was boiling and we had to open a window to let the heat out
Bedroom has a double bed which was comfy.
I sid think it could have easily had 2 si goes which could be made up as one or 2 beds to widen the letting options as plenty of room.
As stated the bedroom is accessed by a small spiral staircase, so it was interesting getting down during the night to use the loo.
If you were slightly infirm it would not be the place for you!
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would return.
I have tried to include comments which others might find useful when considering booking.
Thank you for your feedback
We are located in a quiet small village this most find very appealing.
There may be some noise from local farm vehicles, but we are located on a very small country road.
Coat hooks are provided near the entrance located by the radiator to help dry outside gear.
This cottage is designed for a maximum of two people a cozy retreat or a nice place to work from.
It does have a featured spiral staircase as described in the publishing and is not accessible to all.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
