Plough Cottage

Plough cottage was beautiful, well appointed and equipped.

The hosts were very friendly and a pleasure to meet with helpful ideas for days out and places to eat when asked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were delighted with what this area of Yorkshire had to offer.

Plough Cottage is comfortable, clean and spacious.

It's in a peaceful, countryside location, yet only a short drive to Bridlington/Flamborough areas.We enjoyed meeting the owner, Rachel, who was most helpful with anything we needed during our stay. The hot tub was a real bonus, not a specified item that we needed when booking, but it was a great way to relax after each busy day touring around. Many thanks Julie and Ian

Thought the owner went above and beyond in most areas including robes etc, was very comfortable and a lovely stay.

Only thing I'd suggest is if having coffee packets etc try and get some tea too as they were very convenient.

The location was peaceful and the property was private. The cottage was well maintained, clean and everything was thought of. The owner was very helpful and welcomed us on arrival. Hot tub was a delight which was nice and warm after a day’s walk. Would definitely recommend and hopefully return again in the future.

Good location which is quite remote but easy access to the coast and lots of lovely villages. Very clean with a lovely garden area to look out on.

. the property is cosy, clean and comfortable, and in a rural, quiet location. Would highly recommend!! We enjoyed visits to Flamborough Head, Filey and to Scarborough. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit this area...thank you to our hosts!!

Excellent holiday cottage with all amenities

The property was exactly as stated.

It was very comfortable accommodation.The bed in particular was exceptionally comfortable.

This is a lovely cottage in a lovely rural area .

(Great for sighting wild life) & also convenient for exploring the area. Only downside a small freezer compartment in the fridge & a very small sink in the bathroom. But still a very pleasant place to stay.

It was so nice to meet the owner of the property.

The cottage was beautiful and fully furnished to a very high standard with everything you could possibly need. It was warm, comfortable and in a very pretty setting.

This is our second visit and would return.

The facilities are excellent, it’s very comfortable and the location is very peaceful. Very close to RSPB Bempton, Flamborough head and lots of nature reserves. Ideal location for wildlife and birdwatching. We didn’t take bikes but would be a great place to cycle. Walks nearby too. Hosts are very welcoming and friendly. We would highly recommend a stay.

Ridiculously small basin in bathroom.

27 x14 cms only! It was impossible to use.We had to use kitchen sink for washing and teeth cleaning.Otherwise we would have been spitting on the floor!! Please advise prospective future holidaymakers about this.Owner please consider replacing basin.

The weather was an bit changeable but there is lots to do in the locality Exceptionally clean and the hosts Rachel and Jim were friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. We will be back

We stayed at the property over Christmas this year but had quite an uncomfortable time solely because of the underfloor heating.

It was set at 20 dgc when we arrived and digitally locked so we could not adjust it. I'm sure we are not the only ones who find this temperature uncomfortably hot, especially for sleeping. If we aren’t, then no wonder the planet is having a fuel/climate crisis! The opening windows in this bungalow-type property are almost at ground level so I did not feel happy leaving them wide open all night (they didn't make much difference anyway). The Velux skylights were better at cooling the rooms but they automatically closed when it rained, so of limited use. After a night of no sleep, the owner and her son had to come in on Christmas Eve to unlock and re-set the thermostats for us – including into the bedroom which I found to be quite intrusive during our quiet getaway. Why we couldn't be trusted to be left with instructions and do this ourselves I do not know. We asked for it to be set at 14 dgc - the owner’s son did this and left it unlocked which was good, but it still hadn't got down to this temperature by the afternoon of 26th December, despite leaving windows and skylights open as much as possible. We therefore decided to cut our holiday short and leave early since we hadn't slept well the whole time we were there (we were booked in till the 27th Dec). Although generally very pleasant and helpful, the owner seemed to be surprised that I was annoyed, perhaps not understanding the privacy issue. I found it presumptuous that our living temperature was chosen for us and insulting not be trusted to adjust it ourselves; this spoiled our enjoyment of Christmas this year I’m afraid. So, for others who do not like to live in an overheated environment and are considering whether to book this property in winter I would suggest contacting the owners to get the heating controls set at a lower temperature in advance since it takes so long for the underfloor heating to cool. Otherwise, the property is absolutely fine!

We absolutely loved our stay at plough cottage.

Our 1st break as a family of 3 & we couldnt of picked a better place to stay. The cottage is fantastic , a home from home with everything needed at your disposal , Its sert in a lovely rural location on a working farm. Its around 8 miles from bridlington & 30 miles from scarbrough. We visited both from here. We will definately return.

Despite being very modern, the property still retains the cosy cottage charm me and my partner wanted for our first mini getaway together.

Overall, the cottage was lovely and the host was very friendly. We both agreed there’s a good likelihood we’d return if holidaying in Yorkshire again. :)

the property is set in a quiet village but is central for Bridlington, Hornsea and Driffield so there is plenty of scope for days out.

we found everything we needed at the property and it is a proper home from home, the bottle of wine in the fridge was a nice welcome gift. the owners were very welcoming and were available if we had any issues. hopefully we will return.

Lovely well equipped cottage in a stunning location walks from the door ideal for cycling as very quite roads and near to National cycle route to Bridlington loved the area and will definitely be staying again.

The owners are great and helpful without been intrusive and told us of all the best cycling routes places to visit etc. during our stay.

The cottage provided both space and Cosy atmosphere.

Plough Cottage is just lovely.

It was well equipped and very tastefully furnished. There are some lovely places to visit nearby with some lovely walks and beaches.

Great cottage, modern, comfortable and had everything we needed.

The host Rachel was always around and extremely helpful and gave us lots of local recommendations in the local area. Location was lovely and quiet and a great base to do some day trips from. Welcome drink and homemade bread alongside some milk was a lovely welcome. We had a lovely time and we were able to switch off and properly relax and will be back in the future.

A little gem.

Lovely cottage, peaceful and relaxing. Surrounding roads were a little difficult to negotiate at times but that is no fault of the owners. We were very lucky with the weather and able to take advantage of local walks and the outdoor facilities of the cottage. The hosts were very welcoming. There are two adjoining cottages and we had lovely neighbours. There is plenty of car parking space allocated for each vehicle.

The cottage was beautiful inside and had excellent facilities. The owners were very hospitable and made every effort to ensure we had a great stay such as recommending places to visit. We would 100% recommend Plough Cottage and look forward to visiting again!

This was our second stay at Plough Cottage so we knew what to expect.

We love it there and will most probably go again next spring - to see the seabirds at Bempton Cliffs as well as to enjoy a break in rural surroundings.

Beautiful location, amazing cottage, no expense spared on the furnishing, appliances and decor.

Spotlessly clean, quiet and relaxing, just what is needed during this strange time. Would recommend this to everyone having to take a stay cation, lovely walk to the Kelk Beck, easy distance to coastal walks.

The owners couldn't do enough for us but they weren't obtrusive.

we just wanted an escape to peace and quiet and that is what we got.
