“Lovely, roomy, comfortable and spotless cottage in a great location for York, Leeds and Ripon.”
Kitchen very well equipped - apart from a tea-cosy (no a criticism, we've only ever stayed in one cottage which had one)! None of the 'warnings' we received - long, bumpy track, airplane noise and farm/harvest noise were any problem at all. The car parking/yard to the cottage door were very uneven and ill-lit, and moving a planter would have allowed us to park the car in the yard itself near the door, much easier for anyone with some mobility issues. We were a bit disappointed at the lack of local/tourist info, cottages usually have a basket/drawer full of leaflets, menus and timetables to read. There were some on a board, but too high and too tiny to be any use. A guest book would have provided comments and recommendations from previous guests, which would have helped, too. There were a very few games and DVDs provided, but the lovely wooden units had a lot of empty space which could have had more games, DVDs and lots of books in, which would have been lovely. Bathroom sink plug didn't keep the water in, and door didn't lock. (Very minor snagging.) Owners were friendly and helpful, would definitely come again.
