Little Gem

Genuinely beautiful little cottage that has been well looked after and was spotlessly clean.

There was so many things that had been thought of (kitchen roll, tea, coffee, uht milk and washing up liquid) and I loved that the property was tucked away in the corner of the courtyard as it felt even more private. There are a few more things that would have made it even better; *The property was unbelievably clean but I noticed a few cobwebs around the property (easy to miss) *The bulb in the little wall light in the bathroom and the big table lamp in the living room both need replacing *A plug or washing up bowl for the kitchen would make washing up a lot easier along with saving water and a proper drying rack would be incredibly helpful as I was worried about things slipping off the mat *A little spoon rest by the kettle for the hot drink lovers (is that everyone?!) *And just my personal preference but a thinner quilt/sheet option for the bedroom would be amazing - I get very hot at night so was fighting a lot with the quilt!

Needs a deep clean.

Window ledge in bedroom dirty as is kitchen window. Kitchen blind stuck open, daren't pull it. Cobwebs everywhere. Terrible musty smell in kitchen - damp or perhaps shaggy rug? Husbands socks were covered in white hairs perhaps from that rug. Need to warn that unsuitable for people with mobility issues, esp 2nd flight of narrow stairs. Car park info out of date. Need to warn people to only park in W zones and explain where nearest is. A local explained it all to us as very confusing.

We loved this little cottage.

Stairs are steep if you have mobility issues but it's clean, and lovely if you are using it as a base when you are holidaying. Beds comfy (firmer) nice strong shower, perfect positioning for all the shops etc. Well equipped and all the bits you need are there. We will be back!

The cottage itself was lovely and homely.

The beds were comfortable and we did have an enjoyable stay. The welcome pack was a lovely gesture. Unfortunately, there are a few issues that needs to be addressed. It took us a very long time to locate the cottage as it was advising me it was on Silver street, this was incorrect as the walk through was in Flowergate next to the estate agents, a local person showed us where it was. On arrival in the main bathroom the toilet seat had split on one side. This is painful as it would trap your skin in the gap. I did call the maid of Whitby a couple of times and even left a message to call back but they never did.If this was an emergency then I'm not sure what would have happened. The housekeeping could have been better. There is a lot of fluff/hair behind the bathroom door, dust on skirting boards and a lot of cobwebs in a lot of the rooms and bedroom. Maybe worth looking at getting another company in to manage the upkeep of your property. We will return to Whitby again but unfortunately not with these people.

Little Gem is exactly that.

Situated in a quiet corner of one of Whitby’s historic yards. Inside, the cottage is modern, clean and well-furnished. Just right for 2 people. The cottage is really close to the harbour and all of Whitby’s other attractions. Highly recommended. The only very minor gripe was the WiFi didn’t work at all. The router won’t stay on. Like I say, very minor and can be remedied.

Absolutely beautiful tiny cottage for a weekend for two, everything included that we could need, close to all Whitby's attractions.

Was a little difficult to find at first, alleyway between two shops - but this meant it was secluded. And parking could have been a problem but this was mentioned in the description and we were lucky to find a spot very close by. Great property.

Honestly one of the NICEST places me, my partner and puppy have stayed this May bank holiday weekend.

We booked last minute because we were staying somewhere prior to this and the noise was dreadful we couldn’t stay any longer. So this place was utterly delightful and such a contrast. Convenient location, clean, tidy with all the smaller details thought about including parking, little treats and coffee. Me and my partner are decorators, and we loved the decor at little gem cottage. It was indeed, a little gem! All I can say is THANK YOU for a wonderful stay with everything we could ever need to make our weekend memorable. We loved it and we will stay again.
