Very nice and cosy cottage!

This is a lovely cosy cottage in a great location.

..so convenient to travel to places around the N York moors. I found the mattress on the main bed rather hard so it needed an extra mattress topper to be comfortable. More hangers needed in wardrobe. Apart from that everything was good.

Lovely little cottage, emphasis on the little!

For two taller people we did find this pretty little cottage a little on the smaller side for us, but otherwise everything else was great. Clean, tidy and everything needed available. We did have to remove the duvet as found it too much along with heating going on at 6am but these are all personal preferences and no reflection on the property itself. It’s a great location for access to some great places, especially if you’re an English heritage member. We also loved the views and the free roaming sheep in the village. Neighbour was friendly and helpful for visiting local places. All in all a lovely little spot!

Limited outside space but the cottage matched if not surpassed expectations.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay aided by good weather. The Co-op, the train service, the local 2 pubs all added to the enjoyment. Our reason for choosing Michaelmass Cottage was its proximity to Danby Castle Barns where we were attending a wedding ceremony. However the 7 days spent at the cottage was an absolute bonus.

Nice village with pub(s) and relatively good stocked Co-op (open almost all hours). Easy access to numerous walks on the moors and surrounding.

Super comfy beds and even a small outdoor space. Great location for exploring the North moors, the village has two great pubs and a well stocked Co-op. I would highly recommend Michaelmas cottage for a cozy getaway!

When leaving the property I stripped the bed.

The pillow and mattress protectors were badly stained (not by us!). Very disappointing as the cleaner lady was outside and when I mentioned it she said she had noticed it when she made the bed up for our arrival!

This is a delightful cottage , cosy , warm and characterful .

It has been renovated and maintained to a high standard and the decor and furnishings very much suit the property . Everything that we needed was there plus a lot more besides . It is homely and comfortable and we were very sad when our stay was over . The property is well positioned to visit other lovely towns villages and various attractions. We would love to return .

Lovely cottage in a very good location, all the places you need to visit are easily accessible, very good.

Lovely cottage - great location (loads of walks from the door), very comfortable and very well equipped for the size.

Only comment, you need to make sure at the kitchen window can be opened - otherwise the kitchen is going to deteriorate very quickly with damp, which would be real shame. Also could have some information on more local amenities - the mobile fish and chip van (arrived Tues & Fri evening just at the top of the street) and the cafe in Botton Village (Camphill Community) made a good walk.

A very picturesque location and so peaceful with many lovely walks without having to go far.

We had no complaints about its cleanliness when we arrived but when we did our farewell clean through there were a couple of points that made us wonder whether the cleaner is assiduous as should be, so marked it down a bit. It's so easy to clean it would be tempting to skimp. It was a warm week, without being brilliantly sunny like most of England. Nevertheless the central heating, which was programmed to be on, made the cottage too warm at night and we turned it off. The cottage info sheet correctly informs bin collection is on Monday, but the blue recycling bin was not collected that day. When is it collected? This should be added to info.

This is a beautiful cottage for a couple.

It has been lovingly restored by the owners who provided slippers for us to use indoors. The location is in a picturesque part of the Yorkshire Moors and is a great base to explore further afield.

We particularly enjoyed this cottage because of the obvious care and attention the owners had given to ensure that guests enjoyed their stay to the full.

The property was so enjoyable because of its unique decor and had a quirkiness that was very endearing.

Could not fought the cottage. Beautifully presented, clean, very comfy with everything you would need. Local pub that did great food, local shop. Great place for walks, also near train station.

Immaculately clean and cost cottage. Perfect location for walking and biking, shops and pubs.

The cottage was perfect and decorated very tastefully.

We had a bottle of wine and biscuits left for us , a thoughtful touch. It was situated in the lovely village of Castleton with great walks only a short drive away. There was a lovely neighbour . He was very knowledgable about the area and gave lots of useful information.
