This classic, terraced cottage rests in Ruswarp, North Yorkshire. Near North York Moors National Park. Close to amenities. Ground-floor living. 2 Dogs Welcome. Whitby 1.9 miles; Robin Hood's Bay 6.5 miles.

Property was as described and very comfortable

Some Prosecco and other goodies left for us which was a nice touch. Depending on when you arrive/depart you’ll either need to unload in the butchers car park or if that’s closed, in the side road but it is quite busy so you need to be quick. Once we parked up we used the train to get to Whitby or we walked in along the path that runs alongside the railway line (takes about 30 mins). Road outside it quite busy but we soon got used to it so it was no problem. I did feedback to the owners that a privacy curtain would be useful on the back door as you have to pass it to get from the bathroom to upstairs. There is a curtain on the front door. A lovely cottage in a lovely setting and a really good alternative in price to actually staying in Whitby.

About

Layout

Chomley Cottage is a historic, terraced cottage located in the village of Ruswarp in North Yorkshire. This traditional cottage, which sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms, is close to amenities, the North York Moors National Park, and the stunning shoreline, has plenty of character throughout. As you enter the living/dining area, you'll see a stone feature wall, exposed beams, and a plush, red corner sofa, which will undoubtedly become the social hub of your getaway. Set the table for four to enjoy family meals and spend precious time together watching TV by the warmth of the electric fire. The farmhouse kitchen is charming, with a fantastic Rangemaster cooker for easy home cooking. Locate the ground-floor bathroom, which features a freestanding bath, hand-held shower, and a heated towel rail for enhanced relaxation after a busy day touring North Yorkshire's coast and countryside. The first of two bedrooms is a ground-floor bunk room, while the king-size bedroom, with exposed beams, antique furnishings, and a TV, is a beautiful space. The Bridge Inn, Ruswarp Riverside Cafe, The miniature Railway and Ruswarp Pleasure Boats, and a convenience store are all within easy reach of your cottage, which is located in the heart of Ruswarp, just on the edge of the North York Moors. The River Esk is within walking distance from the cottage, perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding. A garden centre is also near by. Pack your beach towels and supplies for a day in Whitby, where you can sunbathe on the golden sands, climb the 199 Steps for panoramic views, and marvel at Whitby Abbey's imposing ruins. Whitby Golf Club is also nearby for a round or two with sea views, but Robin Hood's Bay is the place to go if you're seeking a traditional fishing village. This picturesque bay is home to the National Trust's Old Coastguard Station, a traditional fish and chips takeaway, and winding cobblestone alleys to explore. The lively resort towns of Scarborough and Filey are further afield, or perhaps you'd prefer to stroll or cycle through Dalby Forest? The North York Moors provide a variety of excursions, including religious sites and timeless villages, as well as walking trails along rivers and through woodland, perfect for walking your fury friends. Chomley Cottage is a classic North Yorkshire cottage for your next staycation.

Mr Rimmer
A fantastic little cottage, that had everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible, the owners communicated with us, to ensure we knew how to access the property and if we needed anything, they had left welcome packs with treats, even for the dog, going the extra mile, ensyred a great start to our holiday. Excellent service, will definately return.
Mr Chambers
The property was lovely and just perfect for me and my husband and our two pooches. The owners thought of everything from treats for us to treats for the dogs. They even left bubble bath which I always forget. The main bedroom was lovely and quite quirky. The baby gate was handy for keeping the dogs from going upstairs or for keeping them in the kitchen at bedtime. Good enclosed garden but not suitable if your dog is a jumper, ours safely stayed within the garden and greeted everyone who went by. We took a big waterproof blanket for the living room as a preventative measure. The rug is cream so we found it was helpful at avoiding any marks on the rug. The owner also provided dog blankies which we found were useful for keeping things protected. We would stay again. Lovely walk to Whitby and lots to do in the surrounding areas.
