“We enjoyed our stay in this dig friendly cottage.”

The bed was so comfortable! The garden was as it says on the tin - secure. This was important to us because we have a very nervous reactive dog. The cottage was so clean..and everything provided to keep it that way..with a dog in the winter that was also important. Our host was very informative and friendly, we chatted with her about our dog before we arrived at the property. Plenty of room for his crate. We took blankets to protect the furniture because of the wet weather. We had a very relaxed stay..for us happy dog happy people there are great secure dog fields locally..Filey and north Bridlington . Kitchen is user friendly we cooked a roast. The cottage is set in a private drive with several similar properties so pretty quiet.

Excellent situation for the beach, country walks the local shop and pub. The village is quaint and full of character. A historic church and village duck pond and a very good locally produced farm larder. Lots of very good places to visit near by. Well worth a stay.

“We had a lovely stay in Dan's Holiday Cottage.”

Although quite small, there is ample room for a couple and a dog and maybe if you have small children. It is immaculately clean and everything looks new. Everything you could possibly need is catered for and the property and garden is well maintained. There is no WiFi, but that isn't mentioned in the booking details anyway, so if that is important to you then that's something to think about. For us it wasn't a problem. There was a welcome pack when we arrived which was much appreciated. The village itself is small and quiet and the property is only minutes from the beach. There isn't a shop in the village but it's only a short car ride into Bridlington if you need a supermarket. There is also a bus service. There is a pub in the village but it wasn't open the whole week we were there. If you want a quiet holiday in this part of Yorkshire then Dan's Holiday Cottage is a good choice.

“First time staying here, the cottage is very clean and nicely furnished and decorated, unfortunately it’s not exactly dog friendly like it says, dogs are not aloud on the furniture or beds or in certain bedrooms, if that is the case might as well just say no pets.”

Could do with some fans in there as the heat was unbearable and couldn’t open the windows or you would end up with loads of flys inside. I get it doesn’t advertise WiFi but it is pretty pointless having smart tvs if you can’t use the smart features ie Netflix or prime.

We are truly shocked and sorry that you had rate us so low seen as you totally disrespected our bungalow been our 3rd guests it took us over 5 hours to clean, allowing your dogs to excrement in every room nearly, stains on sofa, chairs, soiled bedding and what can only be described as pure filth. The cleanest thing you left was the shower as you didn’t use it all week. I do hope Sykes do not allow you in any of there clients cottages again. We have photo evidence and are still very upset by how you disrespected my bungalow which I work very hard to provide a beautiful clean and well presented for all our clients. Property Owner

The small village of Barmston lies on the east coast, six miles south of Bridlington. This friendly, rural village overlooks the North Sea, with stunning views along the coastline from the cliff top, where on a clear day you can see for miles up and down the coast. The village centre has a pub serving food. A duck pond completes this quiet village, whilst nearby is a sandy beach.
