There is a separate dining room which is a wonderful spot to enjoy family meals and boasts a superb original decorative range. This leads to a stylish kitchen with quality, cream painted units, beech work tops, integrated dishwasher and fridge, electric oven and ceramic hob. There is a washing machine and freezer in the pantry and a ground floor shower room, WC and hand wash basin is convenient after a day on the beach.

First Floor

To the first floor is a twin bedroom with stunning views across the valley, two lovely carved wooden beds, a TV with built-in DVD player and an original cast iron fireplace.

This floor also has the master bedroom, which has a lovely brass bed, TV, large clothes closet, another cast iron fireplace and again, stunning views across the valley.

There is a smart shower room with an extra-large walk-in shower (no step up), WC and hand wash basin.

Second Floor

To the second floor is another spacious double bedroom with TV and an original fireplace, armchair, and superb views across the valley and a single bedroom with TV.

With on-street parking directly opposite, this lovely cottage is accessed through a full height wooden gate with high hedges for privacy; the front garden is paved and has a pink clematis around the door and flowers, Japanese maples and other shrubs – it’s a sun trap and lovely to sit and have a cup of tea in the morning, sun bathe or enjoy drinks in the evening.

Located on the outskirts of the village of Sleights there is a bakers, butchers/deli (renowned in the area as the best), post office, local convenience store, restaurants and 2 pubs which are all within easy walking distance and plenty of gastro pubs, fine dining only a short drive away. Whilst just under two miles away Whitby has ample additional facilities.

Mr Wilby
The cottage was in a lovely location, was clean and very well equipped. When we had an electrical problem it was rectified very quickly. If I was being picky a new non stick frying pan wouldn't have gone amiss, but this was a home away from home. Loved it.
Mr Morbey
Nice location if you like a walk or train ride into Whitby.
Mrs Ward
Arden House is a fantastic home from home. The house contains everything you need to have a great time. We ate in each night, and all the utensils we required, were to hand. All appliances worked perfectly and there were plenty of sockets for our own electrical devices. The furniture is of good quality and all the beds were extremely comfortable so all eight members of our party, slept well each night. The location of the house, in a quiet residential area, means noise levels are to a minimum, even though the house is on a through route for the area. All in all, we had the best time that will be remembered, for all the right reasons, for years to come.
Mrs Shackleton
Great stay . Enjoyed by all our family .Arden House more spacious inside than it appears in photo's and location lovely . Small village with great butchers and chippy !.
Mr Dyson
We felt that the house was very welcoming and well resourced, except for oven gloves and strangely a dustpan, plenty of brooms. Sleights exceeded our expectations as a lovely area. Great walks, two very food pubs, we particularly lovedSalmon leaps which had just re- opened but the staff went above and beyond. Fantastic garden centre and boating, steam train at Ruswarp. Only downside was unreliable buses.
Mrs Hart
