“Firstly the cottage itself and location was good.”
Unfortunately, when we entered the cottage, the smell was awful. The furnishings were really old, and the smell that came off of them whilst relaxing was not good. This also included the duvet. Whilst the cover and sheet was definitely clean, again the duvet itself needed washing/cleaning or replaced. We realise dogs were allowed in property and are asked not to allow pets on furniture etc., but if that is what they are used to at home, they are not going to change elsewhere. Also half the walls in each room were painted almost black and this made the rooms, along with bad lighting very dark and dingy. It is a shame because the room sizes except second bedroom, were quite good and this property could with a couple of weeks rental money be made lovely, lighter paint, newer furniture, not necessarily expensive, and better lighting would make a massive difference. Also lack of electric sockets, plenty there, but all behind bookcases and heavy furniture, know this as numerous lamps plugged into them. Sorry to be so negative, but we left 2 days early, because we couldn't take any more.
