Beaconsfield Cottage

The Owner was very welcoming on our arrival.

The property was very clean and well appointed and in excellent condition - nothing tired or worn - and everything we could possibly need was to be found in the kitchen. The fresh flowers and other ‘Welcome’ touches were gratefully received. The pack of information about the property, the leaflets of things to do, and the parking discs were all thoughtfully put together. My sons (11, 11 and 9) were delighted at the field for football as well as the swing. We will very likely return.

The accommodation is in the quiet village of Burniston.

All rooms, furniture and decor are in excellent condition. We were very appreciative of the welcome pack. The very pleasant owner made her seif known and enquired of anything we needed on our first evening. Excellent stay.

We’ve stayed at a lot of self catering places in North Yorkshire and this one is one of the best if not the best.

The location helps with two pubs doing food and it’s on the Scarborough to Whitby bus route.

Beaconsfield Cottage is a lovely restored cottage in a pretty village within easy reach of Scarborough and the surrounding area.

The cottage is well equipped and and very comfortable. It was ideal for our party of 4. The hosts are busy we appreciate but the garden could do with a little attention but this had no bearing on our enjoyment of our break, it would just compliment what is an excellent place to stay. Two local pubs offered handy refreshments and food options with our choice being the Oak Wheel for food.

We had a lovely stay the host was extremely helpful and friendly this was one of the cleanest properties we’ve stayed in.

Not a criticism but would of liked a hand towel as well as the bath towel and a wall holder in the shower for soap and hair products so they didn’t have to be on the shower floor are just minor improvements.locks on bathroom door especially in the king room a bit of piece from my grandchildren would have been nice lol. The sofas was extremely comfortable the location was perfect and all the extras such as washer dryer were all added bonuses . The kids loved the play area too . Would definitely go back. Our family from Norway stayed at Beaconsfield Cottage for a week over Easter 2026.

We have downsized so they couldn’t stay with us and it was perfect to have such a wonderful place for them to stay so close to home. There was a warm welcome from Taleen and the cottage was perfect in every way. The boys even found dinosaur footprints at Burniston Rocks! Our family would definitely love to stay again at Beaconsfield Cottage when they visit in future.

The cottage is clean, comfortable and spacious with everything you could possibly need. Owners are lovely, next door so on hand if any problems but not intrusive. Lovely pub a couple of minutes walk down the road, food was delicious.

6 of us stayed Sept 22nd - Sept 29th, great location.

Everything we needed was supplied, very clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend and hoping to go back next year. It's a 10 from the Bury gang.

We stayed three nights at Beaconsfield Cottage and it was the most fabulous accommodation.

Spotlessly clean, comfortable and well appointed for all our needs. Lovely welcome gift too! Taleen is a great host, we can’t wait to return. Eat at the Oak Wheel pub if you get chance, the Sunday lunch was delicious.

Property owner very pleasant and chatty.

Let us know where we could eat in the village and told us of local event. Keen to know we were getting on OK in the house. Flexible about where we parked our 3 cars. It can be difficult to find a property suitable for us, our adult children and their partners but with an ensuite in every room and ample parking, this was ideal.

A delightful stay in a delightful cottage.

A nice welcoming touch of chocolates and a bottle of wine was thoughtful. We like plenty of room and always book slightly larger cottages than the two of us 'need'. This cottage had plenty of room with sitting and dining space, although we ate out all of the time. A couple of really tiny details: there was no washing line although the information book said there was one. Also, there was no parking disc for parking in Scarborough, although the book said there was one. I just thought I would point these out. They wouldn't stop us returning or recommending the cottage to others! All in all, a lovely stay and I recommend it.

Such a wonderful place to stay.

All facilities you would need, very convenient location and the hosts were so lovely - warm, friendly and so accommodating.

We have just returned from our second stay at Beaconsfield cottage.

And I must say that the second time was as good as the first. Everything you could possibly want is in the cottage. Everything was spotless and we could not fault anything. The owners are very friendly and apporoachable. If we are in the area again we would have no hesitation about booking Beaconsfield.

We had a lovely stay.

The cottage was all you could want. It is spacious well appointed, every appliance you could want, totally clean. The outside space was a pleasant place to sit with table and chairs. 6 adults can stay easily stay without feeling to crowded. It is well situated between Scarborough and Whitby, with a frequent bus service within a very short walk. I would not hesitate to book again and recommend this holiday home to anyone looking to stay in this part of North Yorkshire.

We found the cottage to be well furnished and comfortable and it was very warm and cosy on cold winter nights. The owners were very friendly and available if needed. A very enjoyable stay in a home from home.

The property is well presented both internally and externally.

The owners have certainly gone the extra mile in every way. The rooms are spacious and have everything needed. The bathrooms are well equipped and so is the kitchen both in appliances and equipment and crockery and cutlery. The whole emphasis is on good quality throughout. We will certainly return with our friends and would certainly encourage anyone to book a stay.

The welcome pack was much appreciated and the flowers in the kitchen were lovely, the cottage is beautiful, well presented and very clean.

The cottage also has one en-suite with a full size bath which is great and surprisingly hard to find nowadays in holiday properties, it was definitely a selling point for us. It’s the best cottage we have stayed in, very comfortable and homely with a good amount of space, the bathrooms were spotless, everything was well thought out. We enjoyed meals at both pubs a short walk at the bottom of the road (would recommend pre booking) and made use of the shop. Taleen is a wonderful host and should be very proud of her cottage. The welcome pack on arrival was a lovely touch. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the cottage had everything we needed and more. Would definitely book again if holidaying in that area. 10 out of 10.

Lovely spotlessly clean property.

Very useful for each bedroom to have an en-suite. Friendly owner, Taleen, was on hand to help with any problems. Ideally situated for trips to Whitby, Scarborough and the surrounding countryside. It would have been useful to have a serving spoon for the kitchen. Also somewhere to put the used coals from the bbq and a way to scoop them out, plus cleaning cloths or brushes. We bought our own so it would be clean for the next people using it. These are minor points though, and we enjoyed our stay. Many thanks for the welcome gift. A lovely touch and much enjoyed by everyone!!

We have stayed in several sykes cottages and Beaconsfield Cottage was the best by far .

The owners thought of everything to make their guests stay comfortable . We would stay there again and would highly recommend to any friends wishing to stay in the area .

Wonderful cottage, spacious and immaculately presented.

Taleen was very welcoming and friendly. We were three generations and the layout was particularly good with one double bedroom separate from the other two - and all en-suite. Great location for Scarborough, Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby. Enjoyed really great meals at the Oak Wheel Pub and Three Jolly Sailors which are both a five minute walk from the cottage. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Absolutely stunning property.

Tahleen and Mark are fantastic hosts. Spotless, homely and the welcome gifts on arrival was a lovely gesture including the milk in the fridge ready for that first cuppa after a very long journey. and we cannot recommend this cottage highly enough. We booked this cottage for a family funeral and despite the reason we had a lovely time and created lovely family memories that will last us a lifetime. Would recommend this absolutely beautiful cottage to absolutely everyone. Book it you won't be disappointed. Thank you Tahleen and Mark we'll be back soon for a happier occasion. Wonderful cottage.

Very spacious for six adults. Very clean. All on one level except for one step into two of the bedrooms. The third thankfully had no step as one of our party had a wheelchair. This room had an ensuite with a bath which exactly suited our needs. Also, there was plenty of room for three cars to park which was ideal for us. We were there in December to celebrate my 70th birthday and even though the weather was cold and sometimes rainy, we found plenty of places to go. Fireworks in Filey, Sea life Centre in Scarborough, Christmas Fayre in Malton, Stained glass centre nearby with a lovely tearoom. We had a memorable time. Our thanks to the owner Taleen for her friendly hospitality and of course the welcome pack of goodies. This cottage is definitely on my favourites list and we hope to be back there sometime.

Beaconsfield is one of the loveliest properties I’ve stayed in.

It is beautifully maintained with comfy sofas and beds and is well equipped. The cottage is well located for access to the coast and the Yorkshire Moors as well as The Cleveland Way and The Cinder Track should you wish to walk or cycle during your stay. Excellent pubs in the village. The owner was lovely and friendly and left us a few goodies on arrival which were greatly appreciated. The friends and family who stayed with me loved having their own en suite bathrooms (which are immaculate). We will return for another visit!

Definitely a 10 out if 10 holiday cottage.

We went as a family of 6, and could not have asked for more. The cottage was beautiful, very clean, fresh and inviting. A great lay out inside, us oldies had our own wing, we called it the south wing. Large bedrooms all with ensuites, which was perfect, lovely comfy beds and bed linen and white fluffy towels. Such attention to detail throughout the cottage, and a dream kitchen with high quality crockery etc everything you needed was there. Our lovely host came to see us, and offered her beach hut for us to use, which we did for our long beach day out, very handy indeed, she also helped us out with places to take the children to, she mentioned play dale farm park, which we took our grandchildren to and we had such a fun day out, so thankyou. A little welcome pack of wine and goodies were there waiting for us when we arrived, just perfect. Very well situated for beaches, walks, pubs etc we explored everywhere, could not have asked for more. Would definitely recommend this beautiful cottage if staying in Yorkshire, and want to be close to the beach. Thankyou again to our lovely host 10 out of 10.

The cottage was perfect.

The host was warm and welcoming. The cottage was very well equipped and ideal location, only a 5 minute drive and we were at lovely Northbay. Will definitely be recommending it to family and friends. The grandchildren said it was the best holiday ever. They had a lovely time despite the weather not being the best for the time of year.

Cottage is in the perfect location for exploring Scarborough and Whitby (park and ride is fantastic, takes all the stress of finding a space in Whitby away). The cottage was ideal for our needs as 2 of our party were disabled and found it set up perfectly for us. The rooms were uncluttered, spotless and very comfortable with everything you could need for a weeks stay. It was nice to have plenty of cupboard space free in the Kitchen to put our food away a very rare luxury in a holiday cottage. Already booked for next year!

Entering a property that is clean is so important to us and this cottage was exceptionally clean! Very comfortable cottage and my wife was delighted to find a slow cooker in the kitchen - lifesaver :). We know the location well and it's a great base for Scarborough and all the well known places to visit. Our son really enjoyed playing with Taleen's son in the field at the property :). Plenty of of room for our party of five adults. Tastefully decorated and furnished. There was everything we needed for our stay, and the owner provided a generous welcome pack, including wine and snacks. The location suited us well, with good bus links if you didn’t want to use your car. Some excellent pub/restaurants within walking distance too. Definitely a place to return to.

We have just returned from a week at Beaconsfield cottage.

The cottage was ideally situated for both Scarborough and Whitby, In fact most places to see were no more than 30 minutes away. The cottage was well equipped and all furnishings were comfortable. I would wholeheartedly recommend Beaconsfield cottage as a place to stay. And if we were in the area again would definitely book again at the cottage.

The owners were very friendly and welcoming. We did enjoy the treats they left. The place was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Lovely big white fluffy towels in the bathrooms. All the kitchen amenities and facilities were brilliant. It was a great base for exploring the surrounding area and coastline. Two excellent pubs just a short walk away. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Beautiful accommodation very stylishly presented.

Super comfy sofas and big white fluffy towels. We also enjoyed sitting out in the sun enjoying a drink on the patio. Easy access to coastal villages and towns. Would definitely return.

Wow wow wow what a great holiday cottage Beaconsfield Cottage in Scalby, Scarborough is.

It is a ground floor Cottage. We stayed there for 3 nights in March 2023. It is a newly renovated 3 bedroom cottage with an ensuite to each bedroom. It has been redecorated and refurnished to a very high standard. It was extremely clean throughout and all the equipment we needed was provided. The beds were very comfortable with good quality bedding. Showers& bath were easy to use. The owner Taleen came to meet us on our arrival & departure days. We thought this was a very kind touch. Taleen was very helpful and friendly. The daffodils & welcome gift was very thoughtful. She could not do enough for us. We used the 2 local pubs in Scalby for evening meals & the food was very good at both places. A visit to The Daisy Tea rooms nearby is a must. We had a gorgeous afternoon tea which was fantastic & very good value. We would definately return to Beaconsfield Cottage and strongly recommend staying there.

Just returned from our second stay at this wonderful cottage everything was perfect, lovely comfortable beds and spacious living room for all kitchen had everything you would need and more for a family of 6.

Beaconsfield Cottage is an awesome holiday home.

Very comfortable and spacious with great facilities. A most welcoming host who ensures all your needs are met. Ideal location for exploring the Yorkshire coast. Highly recommended.

We had a fabulous stay here.

The cottage is well presented and spacious and has plenty of kitcgen equipment to use during your stay. The owners are lovely and very welcoming. We had a welcome pack on arrival which was a lovely personal touch and nothing was too much trouble if we needed anything during our stay. Our two boys loved playing in the outdoor space too! The cottage is in a great position to access surrounding coastal areas/facilities and there is plenty of woodland to explore close by. This is probably one of the best cottages we have stayed in and we would highly recommend staying here.

We arrived as guests and left as friends.

We spent 11 nights at Beaconsfield Cottage over the Christmas and New Year period and were honoured to be the first ever Christmas guests and also first guests of 2023. With three bedrooms, all en suite, the Cottage was the perfect choice. Well presented and immaculate. As Christmas is about time spent indoors rather than out (the weather this year certainly didn't encourage trips out) the space and comfort in the cottage allowed us both family time together and privacy when we wanted it. With bedrooms in the two wings as we nicknamed them, the living area and kitchen are the hub of the house. The kitchen is a joy to work in, with plenty of pans, crockery and cutlery. If you like cooking you'll love the split level double oven. Arriving at dusk we entered to find the living room illuminated by lights from a lovely Christmas Tree and garlands across the fireplace. Taleen had called the day prior to introduce herself and popped over as I was unpacking the car to say hello, welcome us and ask if there was anything we needed, which was a really nice personal touch. When I mentioned we'd be eating in most of the time (actually it ended up being all of the time) she brought me an extra roasting dish over. We kept in touch by phone and chats over the whole stay and also actually since our departure. Thanks again for making us feel so welcome and all the best for the future. Hopefully we'll be able to return for Christmas 2023.

A very nice and spacious cottage with excellent facilities.

As with any newly refurbished property there were a couple of minor things that needed tightening but these were handled quickly and pleasantly by the owners. No complaints.

The property is so comfortable and has absolutely everything we needed. We couldn’t fault the cleanliness and the beds are very comfortable. Handy having tvs in bedrooms, having 2 kids aged 14 and 10 it was nice for them to have their own space. Handy location for local sights and a short walk to the beach (about 35 minutes). We will definitely be back and have already recommended to friends. Thank you

A comfortable, stylish cottage, immaculately clean, that had everything we needed.

The owners were friendly and welcoming, and provided a welcome pack with wine, beers, snacks and cake which was much appreciated. A minor detail is, I personally, would have liked a fixed shower over the bath, but there are already two additional shower rooms so it is not an issue. We had an amazing stay, the location is great, with two excellent pubs within short walking distance, good bus links, and have already booked for another visit. Five star accommodation for sure.

I don't think the pictures on the website do the cottage justice - it is so much more stunning in real life. We would love to visit in the summer so we could make use of the garden and BBQ.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely area ideal for visiting Scarborough and the East coast.

I booked for my Mum and I because we needed all rooms to be on the ground floor and have a walk in shower, it exceeded our expectations. Fantastic facilities, everything you need and more, the owner was attentive and friendly. Great parking, lovely garden and patio. Bonus was the lovely weather for our stay. Highly recommended. What an absolute GEM.

Beaconsfield Cottage was every thing we wanted and more. We could move in tomorrow. We stayed for a long weekend (Fri to Mon) and wished we had booked for longer. Three amazing en-suite bedrooms and a kitchen to die for. Its an ideal place for touring the Yorkshire coast or North Yorkshire Moors. Even the weather behaved itself and we sat on the patio drinking wine in October. Can't get any better than that. Being of the older generation we managed to loose the signal on the main TV but Taleen (the owner) soon showed us what to do. There is even a pub at the end of the road, (The Oak Wheel) that serves traditional Yorkshire food and beer. Which ever way you score a property this rates as 5 star or 10/10. We will definitely be back.

Very clean and modern with traditional touches. Owners were very friendly and tried really hard to make our stay with two small children as easy as possible. We would definitely stay again.

They certainly were. It is a beautiful conversion of an old barn and has all the facilites and comfort for a very happy holiday. Everything is brand new (August 2022) and high spec. En suite and TV to each bedroom, all brand new white goods, plenty of parking, lots of thoughtful touches. Two pubs serving food a short walk away, about four miles to the centre of Scarborough. Highly recommended.
