The Loft is in an ideal location for walking both the Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track, with lovely views of the coast.

The Loft is both charming and homely, with a warm welcome. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Everything was spot on.

Just a couple of suggestions. Maybe mention the low beams & the slopes in the ceilings? Otherwise would definitely recommend. Also the owners were very friendly and helpful.

A wonderful, cosy, comfortable bolt hole.

Perfect for my short break to switch off and recharge. The bed is amazingly comfortable, and the loft is very well equipped. Can't fault it. The location is so peaceful but well situation for access to Whitby and Scarborough. I'll definitely be back.

The Loft is a wonderful base to explore this part of North Yorks, with coast and moors all easily accessible.

The setting is excellent with morning walks in the countryside on the doorstep with no need to start the car. And plenty of seating places outside to enjoy that cup of something hot or glass of something cold. We were greeted with a lovely gift from Pippa and Graham - some cake and tea/coffee. From there it was all great. Warm and comfortable with all the facilities needed to make for a great break away.

The Loft was the best place we have stayed in, full of character and charm.

The whole area was very picturesque and quiet, and not too far from main towns. The owners were lovely and helpful. Friendly dog, ponies and cows, even fed them. Would highly recommend.

The location is excellent with whitby, scarborough, filey and saltburn all great places to visit from the Loft. The cottageitself is very welcoming with a very large bed snd lots of lovely touches. Poppa and Graham were very welcoming

I could not have asked for more. The attention to detail, comfort and cleanliness are second to none. Pippa and Graham were marvellous hosts. Staintondale is a very special place with stunning views and beautiful walks from the doorstep. Don't hesitate in booking, you will be delighted with your stay.

Six footers beware the exposed beams and sloping ceilings.

Provided you take rudimentary self care and awareness, though, you will be rewarded with cosy and romantic accommodation in one of the most beautiful parts of England. Easy access to moors, coast and local towns makes this an attractive booking proposition. The property itself is clean, tidy and provided all our needs for a recent long weekend away. I would not hesitate to book again.

Brilliant location and a lovely place to stay, owners were very friendly and welcoming.

The accommodation was spotless and everything was catered for, definitely worth a visit and stay. The area was perfect for exploring, loads of literature in the accommodation for walking and places of interest.The pub in Cloughton called the Byherstones was amazing, the food was outstanding. The Sunday roast was exceptional but do book if you want to go, and the homemade pie was also fantastic, both times the meat melted in your mouth. The coastline is outstanding in the area would definitely come back again.

Peaceful, clean, comfortable, in a sublime location. Lovely hosts. Perfectly placed for exploring. An absolutely fantastic week. And although out of the control of the owners, even the weather was kind.

A beautiful place to stay at Hillside Farm the views were amazing and the accommodation called the Loft was superb, had everything me and my wife needed.

Pippa and Graham made us feel really welcomed they were so friendly, will defiantly rebook next year. Just absolutely brilliant.

It was immaculate; well presented and beautifully furnished/ decorated. The cottage is set amongst stunning grounds where you can enjoy the gorgeous scenery in relaxed surroundings. We had everything we needed in the cottage as it was so well equipped. We will definitely be returning in future and highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Loft.

The accommodation and gardens were brilliant and the hosts Graham and Pippa were really welcoming and offered some great suggestions for local walks and pubs. We would definitely stay again and recommend a visit to one of their cottages. The only minor issue was that the WiFi signal was poor and we lost WiFi connection on several occasions, this is understandable in a rural location, but worth planning for!

A wonderful stay in a very comfortable, well equipped holiday cottage.

The location is perfect for visiting the coast between Bridlington and Saltburn and up onto the moors. The only slightly negative comment would be that the outside sitting area for The Loft needed a bit of TLC.

A beautiful property, so cosy and decorated to a high standard.

There are plenty of practical items and a selection of books, DVDs and even some binoculars for watching the local wildlife. The grounds are wonderful, perfect for an evening stroll. Unfortunately we weren’t blessed with good weather so we didn’t have much chance to enjoy, however we did get to meet the two adorable Highland cows. The Loft is situated between Scarborough and Whitby, but not too far from Staithes, Robin Hood’s Bay and the picturesque Sandsend (I would definitely recommend a visit!). The Clevelend Way walk from Ravenscar to Robin Hood’s Bay is lovely too - very hilly, but the views are wonderful. Also not far away is the pretty Falling Foss waterfall and tea gardens. A perfect place to just sit, observe and listen to nature. The owners, Pippa and Graham, are very friendly and helpful and they are available if you need anything. They they have a very friendly dog too, who greeted us like old friends! We had a lovely time whilst we were there (we had to leave early due to a family emergency) but the few days we had there were appreciated and allowed us to recharge our batteries in a relaxing, pretty and comfortable environment. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to The Loft. Thank you.

If the owners did a gift-wrapping service we would have loved to have taken The Loft Conversion away!

We had a much needed and well deserved peaceful long weekend break.

It was for my birthday that happened to coincide with the Coronation. My partner and I have a hectic job involving shift work. We appreciated the location, very beautiful and quiet. The scenery is gorgeous. Friendly welcoming hosts. Thanks Graham and Pippa. The loft was lovely, just the right size for a couple. Has all the facilities you need. Only thing missing is a washing machine. Not that we needed one. Very clean and well presented, great use of space. Wi-fi during our stay was a bit hit and miss. Great location for exploring local area. Will definitely stay again when back up in North Yorkshire.

Hillside Farm is in beautiful location, the scenery was breathtaking. The loft was lovely and clean with everything you need, a real home from home. Graham and Pippa had thought of everything and we’re very friendly. They provided coffee, tea, milk and a chocolate treat which was a nice and thoughtful touch. The small town of Staintondale is close to Scarborough and Whitby and an excellent location to explore North Yorkshire.

We had an absolutely lovely stay.

The Loft is great, suited us perfectly and the lovely garden to sit in was home from home !! I have one criticism only and that is, the oven, just too complicated for us !

A lovely cottage with all amenities thought of by the hosts.

There were fresh baked goods on arrival and even a bottle of milk! With gorgeous scenery all around, The Loft was a wonderfully cosy place to snuggle up after a day of exploring the local coastline, and listen to the wind howling outside... Graham was kind enough to show me his extensive fossil collection when I told him that the natural history of the area was a huge draw for me. He told us good walks to take, places to eat, places to hunt for fossils and he even gave me a couple that he found on the beach! The only thing that I would change; and it really is a minor detail!- a small sofa or cuddle chair to replace the tub chairs, as we didn't find them particularly comfortable. We'd love to return in the high season!

Nice location, peaceful and picturesque. The owners were always friendly and very helpful. Their local knowledge was invaluable. Could do with a height warning on listing. Anyone over 5'9" ie 1.75m would hit their heads on beams as it is what it says- a loft. Anyone under 5'9" could not easily open or shut the roof shutters.

Beautiful character cottage in idyllic setting, very peaceful yet easy to travel to Whitby and Scarborough.

Enjoyed walks from the cottage down the cinder track to Ravenscar and to Hayburn Wyke and further afield to Goathland to visit Mallyann Spout waterfall and walking along the coastal path from Robin Hood's Bay. Would also recommend Falling Foss tea garden and waterfall. Cottage had high quality fittings and equipped with everything you needed and owners on hand to advise about the local area.

The loft was lovely the surroundings were stunning,the location was also excellent, easy access to Scarborough, Whitby and Filey(the beach was lovely).

We had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to return to the loft.

What a lovely holiday cottage in a beautiful location.

The cottage was well equipped with everything you need to be self sufficient although we did enjoy a couple of meals at two local pubs. Plenty of hot water and the ability to put the central heating as required. The cottage is ideally placed for cycling or walking along the Cinder Track and also for walking the Cleveland Way. Highly recommended for both the cottage and for the area.

On your web site you state The Loft as a Fridge/Freezer it actually is an Ice Box within the Fridge,just a minor point which could be important to some people,but apart from that everything was fine

ApprecIated the tea, coffee, milk and biscuits waiting for us on arrival. It saved an immediate search to find a village shop!

Was nice to arrive at the loft and find fresh milk,teabag,coffee and some lovely biscuits there for you and not having to unpack all your food etc before having a nice cuppa after travelling there.

..quiet, peaceful. The Loft is roomy and well appointed, and there’s a tranquil spot in the garden with table and chairs to sit out at if you’re lucky with the weather. NCN1 is a short cycle away which permits cycling to Robin Hoods Bay to the north, and Scarborough to the south. Recommended!

The Loft is cosy, beautifully appointed, very comfortable and well located for a self catering holiday in a stunning area between Whitby and Scarborough.

We walked every day (the weather was sunny) and were delighted to be able to return to the Loft to relax in the evenings. We would certainly consider returning in the future.

We were met by Pippa who made us feel very welcome,she was very helpful with her knowledge of the local area and afar. The cottage was far better than the pictures. It was converted to a very high standard with all modern appliances whilst retaining the quirky side as well. The loft is in a ideal location for visiting all villages,town and cities. The location is peaceful with views to die for and ohh that bed you could get lost in it, best nights sleeps for ages. To sum up A little bit of heaven.

Pippa and graham who own the property were absolutely lovely to us they made us feel very welcome and had some good tips for places to go like hayburn wyke , a stunning cove with a waterfall dropping off the edge of it an hours walk away that we frequented a good few times .

If you like walking its a good base to get to the Cleveland way public transport is very limited there only two buses a day and the local shop shut down two days before we got there so make sure you take enough supplies if you don't have transport
