We returned here after a fantastic stay last year and this year was no different.

Great communication from the owners, everything immaculate and in full working order throughout. A lovely place to stay , we will be back !

Stunning cottage extremely comfortable and well maintained.

We had everything we needed for a week away. Our hosts Amanda and Matthew were extremely helpful and friendly.

Lovely place to stay.

We were greeted by my matt upon arrival and he showed us around and talked us through the controls and door opening ect. The cottage was exceptionally clean and furnished to a very high standard. The beds and lounge were very comfortable and the log fire made for very cosy evenings. There is ample parking out the back and we set off or arrived back after our day out we were greeted by 5 chickens roaming free ( bit of a highlight really). Overall I would definitely recommend and would not hesitate to return if we stayed in the area again.

Great cottage Really enjoyed our few days here Had everything we needed apart from a dog bowl which we forgot.

.. Shame pub is closed but the grapes inn did excellent food. We will return.

We had a wonderful week at The Stones Throw cottage in May.

We received a very warm welcome from the owners, Amanda & Matthew upon arrival and shown around the property. They were only a phonecall away if you needed any help. The cottage is tastefully decorated throughout, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We couldn't fault it. Located in a lovely village but near to places of interest, such as Castle Howard, Whitby & York. And some really good pubs. Would highly recommend.

They truly couldn't have done more to provide an exceptional holiday. The cottage is outstanding in terms of location, facilities and comfort, it's absolutely beautiful and has everything anyone could need for the perfect getaway. My family and I would absolutely love to return!

A smart cottage in a lovely position.

We toured all of Yorkshire, from Hull to Harrogate and Whitby, A beautiful place.

A most comfortable stay in idyllic location , the sitting room is exceptional , wonderful log burner comfy seats , huge tv , perfect !

Comfortable bed , excellent huge bathroom with loads of hot water , perfect chill out , with the most delightful owner Amanda , would highly recommend this lovely cottage .

Amanda greeted us and made us feel right at home, and she continued to be a marvelous host throughout our stay. The cottage is impeccable and tastefully furnished to a high standard throughout. I’ve stayed in many cottages and this was certainly one of the best! We’d love to visit again, thank you!

What a cottage, immaculate and perfect.

From the very first step through the door this place is amazing. Clean, warm, cozy and beautiful. Owners could not be better, literally a text or call away. I have stayed in many cottages as I love a UK break and I have to say I think this one might be the best one ever.

The kitchen is well equipped with everything you would need. With a well maintained yard. We will definitely be back again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at A stone's Throw.

This is a beautiful luxurious cottage. Very clean and comfortable. The cottage is very tastefully decorated with high quality furniture. We did enjoy the peace and quiet of the village, which is well situated plenty of places to visit. I would definitely recommend this cottage and visit again.

Lovely cosy cottage well placed for visiting the Pickering & Scarborough area.

The accommodation was clean well thought out and facilities were excellent, the bed was very comfortable and the decor was very well done, there was plenty of space and seating.

What an incredible find-from the minute we were checked in personally by the hosts we felt perfectly at home.

We were walked through the property, explaining where to find fans, how to use the induction hob, outside lighting etc. Matthew was on site daily whilst working on the pub adjacent to A Stone’s Throw. Although we wanted for nothing during our stay, Matthew could not have been more helpful and always made sure to check in when we came across each other in the parking area. The cottage is luxuriously furnished and appointed to the highest standards, and it was a pleasure to stay here. We cannot wait to return.

The furniture is comfortable and high quality. We thought the decor and artwork tasteful and to have lots of house plants a delight. The kitchen had everything we needed. The patio is a lovely place to relax.

The property was very nice, lovely and clean.

The quality of the furnishings was excellent. A couple of little problems but they were sorted. Nothing was too much trouble. Very quiet exactly what was needed. A minor thought, Velux blinds would be beneficial, personally brighter lights in the kitchen, but certainly not unsurmountable. Very nice, lovely and quiet would recommend.

The cottage was fantastic inside and the decoration and use of colour was amazing.

It was absolutely spotless and everything looked brand new and high quality. We also enjoyed sitting outside for meals in the garden and enjoying the peace of quiet of the village. We didn't really need to ask Amanda for any help but she was really welcoming and friendly.

Cottage was very comfortable and clean, great location and was a good as expected, TV’s in bedrooms did not seem to get Freeview, so could not watch normal TV.

Garden is now enclosed and secure. Overall excellent.

'A Stones Throw' cottage is spacious, scrupulously clean, comfortable and relaxing. The courtyard garden is well laid out with very well maintained plants/bushes/trees; a tranquil space, in which to sit and thoroughly chill out, while the dog explores. We recommend this cottage without hesitation.

Stones throw is a beautifully decorated cottage finished to a very high standard.

It's a pretty village well situated for several places for breakfast and dinner and close to the coastal resorts. The beds and sofas are very comfortable and the shower spacious. The TV is enormous and very much enjoyed by the teenager and WiFi running about 35mbps. Parking on site ina shared private carpark. The garden is beautifully mature planting and seating. The only suggestion w would make to improve the stay would be higher and more private fencing.

Had a wonderful 3 night stay it was spotless well equipped and owners live in the pub next door which has sadly closed down , They were both really helpful and suggested local fish chip places when asked and provided more hand towels when asked .

The beds were really comfortable ,we didn’t realise the bathroom was down stairs don't let that put you off the owners have been very thoughtful and there is a motion sensor light which turns on and off which was a great idea! Theres a lovely garden to sit and have morning coffee a cosy log burner (we didn’t need as weather was lovely. A huge tv with Netflix and comfy sofa to relax in the evening The heating and hot water took a little bit of tine to figure out more instructions in the handy book provided would have been good (the shower was big and lovely and hot) In the book theres a list of a places to visit . We had our weekend planned already Scarborough ,Helmsley ,Whitby , Robin Hoods Bay its a great base to see many things in Yorkshire! Would go again if returning to the area Thanks Matthew and Amanda for sharing your cottage with us

Lovely property with attractive decor and finished to a really good standard.

Nice patio area, clever under stair dog bed and generally everything you need. We had a great time!

A lovely week away at the stones throw cottage nestled away in the rural village of sawdon.

nice and clean on arrival with comfy settee and chairs and comfortable bed with a huge smart TV in the living room and a secure and modern garden for the dogs.A welcoming host who was on hand to advise us on the surrounding area and best places to go for food etc.perfect spot for visits to Scarborough or Whitby and Filey and also the lovely villages of Malton and helmsley.so quiet and peaceful back at the cottage on a night.
