Top notch!

This cottage was beautifully decorated and had plenty of room. We loved the patio. Bedrooms have plenty of room. All renovated. Beautiful location close to center of town and park. Host even left milk and cookies for us when we arrived! Absolutely perfect!

The cottage is well located for visiting lots of places, the village has a shop and a good number of pubs to eat at.

It was very clean and tidy and it was very quiet while we were there. It was nice of the owner to leave biscuits and milk as a welcome gift.

We had a lovely stay at Chalkstone Cottage.

The cottage is in a quiet location with parking, and is spacious with comfortable, well-appointed bedrooms. The owner has clearly put a lot of thought into ensuring the cottage is well equipped and welcoming for guests. There is a park just around the corner for children, along with a few shops and a chip shop less than five minutes away. During our stay, I contacted the owner Sarah about a few maintenance issues we encountered. Some of the saucepans had the coatings coming off, the pillows were quite lumpy and the shower attachment over the bath wasn't working, which made washing our toddler's hair a little difficult. The 13.5 tog duvets were really warm during the heatwave week of our visit so we asked if there were thinner ones anywhere that we could use. Sarah was absolutely lovely and could not have been more helpful. She immediately offered to replace the pans, send pillows and lighter duvets by next-day delivery, and arrange for a plumber to visit the following day. As we were due to leave two days later, we chose not to take her up on these offers, but we really appreciated how quickly and positively she responded and we fully appreciate she would not have been aware of these issues. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return to Chalkstone Cottage in the future.

This is our second time to Chalkstone cottage.

It is in a good location and spotlessly clean. The only reason gave under for comfort as found the sofas too deep to get comfortable but you can get round that by sitting sideways. Will definitely go back again to Chalkstone Cottage.

We have been to this cottage twice now , its a lovely base for the East Coast .

What a beautiful spacious little cottage.

There’s everything you could need for a relaxing stay. The enclosed patio area was lovely and I enjoyed a cuppa tea in the afternoon Easter sunshine with my Jack Russell Cooper. I enjoyed my stay so much that I’ve booked again

This was the best yet! Fantastic location in the heart of the village. Very comfortable with everything we needed.

Beautiful cottage, very well equipped, we wanted for nothing.

Very clean, with comfortable beds, fresh linen and nice soft pillows. Very homely and decorated well. The only tiny niggle we had was, having no logs and kindle for the log burner, on our arrival night. However once we stocked up the next day, we thoroughly enjoyed having the burner, for cosy evenings. We highly recommended the cottage.

Chalk stone cottage, has everything you could possibly want, the cottage is in a ideal spot, no traffic & quite, will definitely recommend to friends & family, and will be going back, well done to the owners.

Chalkstone Cottage was delightful.

It had everything you would need during your holiday. It was of a high standard of comfort sofas were very comfortable. Nice small safe fully enclosed garden area if you have dog with you and would certainly intend to stay again. Highly recommend this lovely cottage.

The property was beautiful inside and out you can see that a lot of care has been put into the cottage.

The kitchen was great it was fully equipped with everything we needed and we even got some biscuits and milk in the fridge which was lovely! The set out of the downstairs was perfect it was incredibly clean and the garden was very cosy. The bedrooms were the perfect size and the beds were extremely comfortable! The bathroom was lovely especially the stand alone bath. The whole house was spotless and it felt like home away from home. We met the owners of the cottage and they were very lovely people you can really tell they put a lot of effort and care into the property.

What a lovely cottage well presented very clean and very well equipped lovely village with good facilities , pubs a restaurant and award winning fish & chip shop.

Good base to explore Whitby to Hull and all in between I have been in many cottages that have promised und under delivered this one is exactly the opposite .

What can we say it was fab 10 out of 10 everything was spotless and modern in a great village with everything you need lots places to visit first time stayed in a cottage will be staying in them all the time now it's was beautiful the owner should be very proud of her cottage

We had a great stay at Chalkstone cottage.

The property is lovely very homely and has everything you need. Ideal location to get to near by Bridlington, Scarborough and filey. Was recommended by a family member who had stayed. Will be looking to go back again would highly recommend.

Lovely well equipped cottage close to shops etc Very well equipped clean and tidy.

Garden was a bit smaller than expected but was more than adequate for three of us. I would definitely recommend this cottage for anyone wanting to explore this area of Yorkshire

We have stayed here twice now and we absolutely love it. Its clean, spacious, has everything you need. We will definitely be booking again.

Lovely cottage in a lovely place, could not recommend enough, would definitely try to book here again if in the area.

The cottage was in a good position and perfect for our needs, it was a good size and well furnished.

The owners had clearly thought about how to make the cottage nice. However, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired, I had to clean the moms from around the top of the sink and around the taps before I could use it, the I picked the 2 best plates, cups and knife and forks, washed those and used these for the rest of our visit. The shower heads were moody and I cleaned one of these and the oven was really dirty too so we decided to eat out each day. Also whilst the beds looked clean the fact that the bedding wasn’t ironed just showed the minimum effort given to the cleaning and turnover of the property. The bids looked like screwed up crisp packets they were so creased. The garden also needed some attention although it did get sun all day which was lovely. When we arrived the property had just been cleaned as the floors were still well and the cottage didn’t smell very nice, we realised this was due to the dirty wet mop in the cupboard so we left it outside through our stay. The cottage, location and parking are lovely it’s just the cleaning that let it down. Glad I took some cleaning stuff with me just in case.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful area apart from a bit of dog barking from the neighbours!

Very clean & the beds were very comfy. Could have done with more than one toilet roll & some rubbish bags to put our rubbish in as we had to use our own carrier bags as there was only one black bin bag provided. We cooked every day so there was a lot of food rubbish. Overall a lovely place to spend a weekend besides the sea. Thank you.

This is a fab cottage situated in the heart of Flamborough with all your amenities close by.

A lovely property , really well equipped and very comfortable for our party of 6.

It’s in an ideal location for visiting the local coves either by car or on foot.

We were absolutely thrilled with this delightful property. The decor is beautiful, has everything you could possible need, very clean and warm and cosy. The owner Sarah was so helpful and there was even a bottle of wine on our arrival and milk in the fridge! Would recommend.

Property spacious.

A few things let it down, no cupboard space for shopping,bed next to bathroom bed sheet too small kept coming off.Better information pack, what to burn on Wood burner, radiators in lounge didn't work. Lounge floor was dirty and gritty. Cds and childs yoghurt pot under radiator . To top it all the hoover was disgusting filter was full of clogged not seen anything like it ,didn't pick up inside was full and motor was struggling. When we got it working was dragging hair from humans.

Great location in the centre of Flamborough and one of the best places we've stayed. Thoroughly enjoyed it and we will be returning!

Pros: An excellent place to stay for the 5 off us ( 3 adults, 2 children ), spacious and comfortable.

Ideally located for exploring the Flamborough beaches, Bempton RSPB and the Yorkshire coastline. We loved the cottage and I am sure we will return. Cons: We can only have a complaint about some cuttlery and ceramic ovenware needing a good scrub before use, seemed to be coated with baked tomato residue. The parking for two cars was tight! Then nothing to do with the cottage itself but, we had builders working next door adding to the chaos. Both cars needed a car wash to remove heavy dust from brick and stone cutting blowing everywhere.

We really enjoyed our stay at chalkstone cottage.

It had everything you needed, also it was in a lovely location sitting just of high street from pubs, fish & chips & restaurant The seabirds would definitely recommend. We would definitely love to return again next year.

Excellent property - well-equipped, clean and comfortable.

Good walking from the door and within walking distance of pretty much everything you are likely to need. The only thing that would improve this, from our perspective, is black-out blinds in the bedrooms. We would highly recommend and hope to return.

Hi the cottage is lovely, but the cleanliness is something to be desired.

The upstairs sink needs unblocking as does the shower which nearly overflows, water stays in them for an age. Bathroom draw was dirty so did not use. The skirting boards where dust as are the lights. All the mugs are chipped so did not use. Bedroom door creaked loadly evertime you closed it so needs fixing. Such a shame as the cottage is beautifully decorated and has been really thought out. Parking a bit tight. Good location.

A great cottage, spacious, clean and comfortable with all the equipment needed for the stay.

We have just returned from a five-day visit to this beautiful little cottage: in a prime position for the shops, pubs and all the surrounding beaches: the little green park just 100 yards away was a godsend for our dog first thing in the morning and last thing at night for him to stretch his legs before we hit the beach.

care has been taken to refurb this little gem of a find: we had no issues during our stay: I would however, suggest that pump soap is provided both in the kitchen and the bathroom: I did purchase some together with extra toilet roll and have left the same for the next guests to use: the central heating system is amazing and the cottage retains the heat during the day and evening when switched off: we loved sitting in the little garden area which is fully enclosed and ideal for children/pets alike as its safe: I commend the owners for providing copious amounts of coat-hangers in each wardrobe too: thank you: just one comment the listing states the property benefits from Sky TV and this was not available during our stay however, we did use the games provided at the cottage: we both loved our stay at your amazing cottage and will definitely be looking to book again later in the year or similar time next year: thank you for making my stay-cation a memorable one: Jayne and Charlie

Absolutely wonderful stay at this cottage, very comfortable and modern and plenty of room for the 5 of us and our large dog.

Very warm, very well equipped and just very pleasant! Perfectly situated with just enough room for 2 cars to park. Garden at the back is small but fully enclosed and just large enough for our dog to lay in the sun and stretch her legs before we go out for the day. The cottage feels spacious and welcoming, Wouldnt hesitate to book again! A small note for the owner - the upstairs doors were very creaky and could do with checking, and the kettle needs descaling or replacing, which I appreciate you wouldn't notice unless you were actually staying there.

Great location for walks in the local area.

We stayed 3 nights visited the 1 of the pubs for food & drinks, the Coop & walked to the North & South cliffs within the village. The cottage is surprisingly deceiving, plenty of room for the 6 of us. Would recommend.

A lovely home to relax in warm and cosy with everything we needed.

Very cosy, very clean and modern cottage.

They were very accommodating when we had a surprise 2nd dog come into our lives and allowed the two dogs with an extra payment of £20. Very much recommend.

Chalkstone needs a really, really good clean.

We found a dirty sock under the settee, the kitchen drawer with bakeware in was filthy so we didn't use any, a shame as we like to cook, on emptying the bin the bottom of it was disgusting, the drawer in the bathroom was very dirty, so we didn't use it for our toiletries, there is mould in the shower and the shower head is black, the damp patch going up the stairs is a bit off-putting. On arrival the kitchen tap was dripping , which soon turned into a stream, we reported this, but was told it wouldn't be fixed until after we left, so we had to put up with the noise of running water, not good for a woman of a certain age !! On leaving ,we found the fridge with an inch full of water underneath the salad drawer. Apart from that the house is in a good location, with private parking, and inside is well equipped and comfortable, a bit of TLC would transform it into a very attractive holiday cottage. We were disappointed at the hygiene and lack of what we expected from previous visits to Chalkstone Cottage.

1: Teapot was dirty inside and outside 2: Kettle contained black mould and required cleaning before use 3: Only 1 x toilet roll left for our use 4: Only 1 x tea towel left for our use 5: Faeces stains in toilet rim 6: Needed to purchase cleaning materials (£13.85)

We had a wonderful stay at Chalkstone Cottage and loved the cottage itself and surrounding area.

It was all just perfect! The cottage has a lot of character, is cosy and sweet and is tastefully decorated. The beds are really, really comfy and the 2 sofas are perfect for lounging on! You can also walk to the high street, where there is an amazing Butcher shop, in about 30 seconds from the front door! The village of Flamborough is delightful and the 2 beaches are beautiful and safe for swimming. There's plenty to explore and do and we have fallen in love with the area. We will definitely be returning to Chalkstone Cottage and are already looking forward to it. Thank you!

We have had a wonderful holiday.

The cottage is located in a fantastic position in central Flamborough village. Easy access to pubs, butcher, Co-Op, fish and chips, fresh lobster and crab …all within walking distance. The cottage is comfortable, comfy beds and would make a perfect low season break with it’s cosy log burning stove.

Our second visit to the cottage and we’re already planning a return!

Lovely cottage in a fantastic village location, everything you need in the village is within walking distance, including the beach. The village has 7 pubs, two fish & chip shops, a butchers and a supermarket! The cottage has everything and more that you need for a relaxing holiday, with comfortable beds & sofas. The little welcome pack was well received after a long journey too. The only niggle was the cleaning we were greeted by a mop and bucket in the hallway and the over powering smell of bleach! The bathroom in places still looked as if it needed a clean. Also would be very useful to be able to use the back gate especially for unloading the car, as the road out the front of the cottage is very narrow.

The cottage is fabulous, modern, just what we like.

We didn't arrive till the the prescribed time but found the floor to be a bit wet and quite a bit of dusting not done, apart from that everything fine. Beds comfy, some of the towels not so, but didn't matter. Bathroom is beautiful and great shower. The photo of the garden makes it appear larger but as our week was not so sunny didn't sit out much. The bottle of wine much appreciated and the milk. We had a lovely time and would recommend Chalkstone Cottage.

Chalkstone Cottage is a spacious, well equipped cottage with a small courtyard garden, well secured for doggy visitors.

Flamborough has everything you need for your stay and is well placed for visiting Bridlington’s superb beaches, the RSPB at Bempton Cliffs, walks along the cliff tops. Burton Agnes Hall and gardens are a must, as is their cafe!! All in all, we had an amazing week and the sun shone every day! We will be back ‘

Beautiful cottage in a fab location only thing we could possibly say negatively about the cottage was the lack of an additional toilet but it certainly wouldn't put us off booking again.

We loved how quiet the cottage location was but also that facilities such as a local shop, chip shop and pubs were less than a minute or two away from the cottage - a unique and definitely a massive plus point. The whole cottage was beautiful and spotlessly clean and the layout was excellent, making a fairly small footprint seem really spacious. We'd definitely recommend this lovely cottage.

We loved the cottage , it was warm and comfortable.

Parking was good for 2 cars and location was excellent, right in the centre of the village . Beds were comfortable, shower was very good too , plenty of hot water .. Only gripe is we would have liked 2 bathrooms, 1 not enough for 3 high maintenance ladies of a certain age ..

The cottage itself is delightful, the main living space was larger than anticipated with ample space for a family of 6.

The outdoor space is deceiving in the photos, this space is not very big and certainly wouldn’t seat us all, however we have a medium sized dog so this for her was adequate. 3 good sized bedrooms which accommodated our family of 6, bathroom also a good size. Ample towels provided, all of good quality. Kitchen well stocked and access to dishwasher and washing machine. The local area is lovely with beaches all within 1 miles. Local shop, pharmacy, takeaways and pubs all within minimal walking distance. We’re were at the property for new year and attended the Viking festival. This was very popular and came and went overnight which was great. My only gripe with the property is the cleanliness. All plugs in the bathroom were clogged with hair and the shower tray drain was black with dirt. We were grateful for the cleaning equipment, however the Henry needs updating or replacing as it doesn’t vacuum well. The house rules state no animals or shoes upstairs, this is clearly not being adhered to as the stairs carpet is filthy. However i would return to property as it’s an ideal base for the Yorkshire coast, I’d just bring extra cleaning supplies.

Good facilities, nice little garden and spacious and comfortable bedrooms and bathroom. Could have done with extra toilet (space under stairs?) and the floor was quite dirty with dog hairs.

2nd visit to Chalkstone, not quite up to the standard it was last year.

Needs a little TLC to bring up to standard considering price increase. Damaged picture frames, dust under sofa and round back of bath. Also could do with a draining board on sink and a bowl to avoid damage to glass ware and plates in ceramic sink.

The cottage is really beautiful with everything you could need, however the cleanliness was not up to standard.

The oven was dirty (we didn’t use) and the beautiful kitchen sink was filthy around the rim. The bedding and towels were clean. The cottage could do with a deep clean which would bring it up to high standard.

Everything you need close by (butcher, greengrocer, pharmacy, pubs, chip shops and a co-op) Very quiet area and a very comfortable place. We would return again!

Lovely detached cottage in a perfect village location.

The cottage has everything and more you need for a weeks stay. Would have been nice to open the bathroom window but it was locked and had no key.The bath was amazing! The open plan layout was perfect,and the bi fold doors were a lovely addition during the warm weather,into the enclosed garden,which meant our dog could please herself without us worrying she could get out. Flamborough village has an array of local shops including a butchers and green grocers and pubs,and a decent size co op. A walk down to North Landing takes you past an additional two pubs( both dog friendly) to a bar belonging to the local Haven site that was open to anyone. We found plenty of walks to do from the cottage,including a walk to RSPB Bempton,and another from the village down to Danes Dyke and back along the coast.If back in the area would definitely stay in Chalkstone again.

We were welcomed with wine, chocolates and milk which were a lovely surprise.

The cottage was clean, modern and comfortable. It's equipped with everything you need. It's in a great location for walks to Thornwick Bay, North and South Landing. Filey, Bridlington, Hornsea and Scarborough all within an hour's drive. There are two fish and chip shops, several pubs, a post office, green grocers, chemist and several other independent shops within a few minutes walk. We had a lovely stay and would happily recommend Chalkstone Cottage.

We had a lovely time and the area is beautiful with lots to explore.

The cottage was nice but on arrival it was quite clear the kitchen work tops hadn’t been properly cleaned and tea towels left for us were dirty. We went to make a cup of tea and all the mugs in the cupboard were sticky with residue tea/coffee in them. I am not saying the owner knew this we wondered if the people before us had just put them away prior to washing on check out. This obviously made us feel a bit concerned about cleanliness. All in all we had a lovely break and were saddened to cut it short due to the storm. We would come back to flamborough again.

A modern, cosy and comfortable cottage in the heart of Flamborough.

Easy walking distance of the coast… and Scarborough,Filey, Sewerby and Bridlington a short drive away. A good place to chill

There is damp in the hall way which i have e mailed photos to you with no response it got worse whilst we were there not what you would expect to see.

This was our third visit to Chalkstone, which never disappoints our expectations.

The price we paid this year was expensive, but still value for money for this unique location and accommodation. However we have looked at the cost of re-visiting Chalkstone in the summer of 2022 and feel that the prices being quoted can only be described as DAYLIGHT ROBBERY and far from our ability to afford as OAPs, which is a big disappointment to myself and my wife..

Fabulous stylish cottage, well equipped and great location.

Only downside, took over an hour to get the key safe to open, there was a nasty smell from the cleaning cupboard which would not go away and as we are all getting through Covid-19 could have been cleaner the shower needed a deep clean plug full of hairs and mouldy hadn’t been cleaned for weeks.

Small things would make the property better. Needs another toilet and could have been a little cleaner than it was, but overall good and I would go back.

The cottage is lovely.

The huge open plan downstairs is a beautiful, bright room which fully opens onto the little enclosed courtyard, which was ideal as we were lucky enough to have sunshine all week. The yard is secure if you have a dog. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need and a few welcome items were provided, including wine. The only downside for me was the 13.5 tog duvet, far too warm for summer. I would also take some hand towels as only one is provided for the whole family.

Really lovely house and facilities.

No toilet paper or kitchen roll provided. Not sure that mattress covers had been washed and one needed replacing as it was very worn. Throws on sofas were lovely, but again not sure they had been washed ready for next occupants. Just minor points that did not spoil our stay.

Wonderful old Cottage , but very modernised furnished , ideally placed to explore the coast line has it is all in walking distance or a few minutes in the car .

We went for rest and relaxation and the cottage certainly gave us that with great comfort .Certainly would book again

Could do with up to date information on bin emptying days.

Also a draining board for the kitchen sink would be helpful with a bowl for the deep ceramic sink. If we had been able to open the side gate it would have made unloading the car easier. Would definitely return.

Lovely cottage right in the centre of Flamborough.

Well equipped and comfortable. The only negative was that we couldn’t get the key safe to work when we arrived, took a while to get the key out.

In a wonderful location, shop and 4 pubs within 5 minutes walking distance. We booked to stay twice again while we were there. Didn’t want to come home ❤️

Chalk stone cottage is a perfect base for exploring this part of the Yorkshire coast.

Located in the heart of Flamborough meant that we had shopping facilities and places to eat( unfortunately the pubs decided not to provide food due to the impending lockdown towards the end of the holiday). Plus we could get out walking around the coast directly from the house so didn’t need to use the car much. We were extremely lucky with the weather for November which meant we could go walking every day. For us it was a perfect Autumn break.

Everything is finished to a high standard and really well equipped. We haven't stayed at Flamborough before but there are some really lovely cafes and pubs so will definitely go back.

Cottage is excellently located in the village.

Within walking distance of all the amenities and surrounding area, which is beautiful! The cottage itself is well supplied, my only comment is I am not a very tall person and could have done with a step ladder to reach some of the cabinets in the kitchen area. Other than that, beautifully modern and decorated. Would highly recommend and we have booked to go back later in the year.

This cottage is in an ideal location.

We had a fabulous weekend. I have to mention the beds they are so comfortable.

It was very central to the Village , It was self contained and had everything at hand, lovely little welcome gifts like detergents and a bottle of wine/ coffee milk etc.

We visited for the Flamborough fire festival and it was a perfect location for this New Years Eve event.

Lovely cottage and stylish decor.

We only had a few little issues. The shower didn't drain well so taking it in turns to use between the 6 of us took a while as we had to wait a while for the water to drain out the tray between each use (but nothing a little beach can't solve). The bedroom decor was nice but the lovely glass lights hadn't been dusted for a while in any room and so they looked very dirty. The blinds in the rooms also aren't long enough for the window so the light comes through, which could be even more of an annoyance in the summer.

The cottage was well located and lovely inside.

We benefitted from it being new to the cottage market. All the fittings and equipment were to a very high standard.

As it was newly renovated everything was in pristine condition and cleanliness was exceptional. Everything we needed was catered for and more. Its position was ideal for walks to Flamborough Head, Sewerby, Thornwick Bay and beyond. We absolutely loved it and would definitely recommend it highly.
