Very comfortable and super clean accommodation set in the heart of the countryside - just perfect!

Loved Andy's recommendation of the Wheatsheaf pub - gorgeous food and super friendly staff. If I was to make one recommendation it would be to have larger towels

Lovely stone built cottage in a delightful rural location, drystone walls, green fields dotted with sheep & lambs.

Fantastic countryside for walking. Dogs welcome, keep on leads at all times. Convenient for Whitby coast, Pickering, Stokesley etc. Wheatsheaf Inn at Egton worth a visit.

Cottage was decorated lovely, enough space for 2 and equipment/facilities supplied were adequate.

However, the morning after we arrived we realized the fridge was switched off. We traced the plug and switched it back on. We had wasted a fridge full of food. We re-stocked the fridge. There was little point in letting the owner know at that point as we had resolved the problem. Even though we were made aware to ask the owner if we needed to adjust the heating...we would have preferred to have control of this ourselves. Mattreses were bouncy and not comfortable. Bedding was clean..but did not smell fresh. Owner was friendly and helpful when we locked ourselves out.

Shame about the weather! The views are to die for and the silence apart from birds and animals was amazing. The cottage was as expected and very comfortable. The only downside were the roads - up and down and winding! With hindsight I should have anticipated these. A younger person would probably have enjoyed them!!

Very comfy mattresses. Lots of space around the pretty gardens to wander with your dog. Spotlessly clean, peaceful, well appointed cottage. My only slight issue is the small bathroom. I think it could be re arranged to make best use of space.

Spotless cottage and stunning views. If I was to suggest anything, an enclosed yard/dog area would be super useful, my dogs won't go to the loo off the lead and its a rural area with livestock so that's not an option. So I spent a lot of time walking up and down the road. I got the listing off a dog friendly site and didn't spot there wasn't a private garden for the cottage. No obligation to provide this of course, just an observation that an enclosed dog area would be just the extra icing on the the cake. The place was a delight, quiet, clean, restful and safe.

Had a lovely stay with our dog cottage and surrounding area so tranquil you can be quiet and enjoy the gardens and views or visit nearby places such as Whitby sandsend Lealholm the moors and come back to a cosy cottage would love to come back again.

Quiet, relaxing and restful. Beds could be better, the mattresses are bumpy and not supportive.

The property was clean and well maintained, and was set in beautiful well kept grounds.

We loved the peace and tranquillity of the setting. We found the bathroom a little too small, but this was due to our mobility issues.

This is an idyllic holiday destination.

The cottage was in a block of cottages but so quiet and peaceful that you wouldn't know there were others staying in the other cottages. The area is remote but well worth it for the beautiful views. The grounds are lovely and so relaxing. The owners are so friendly and willing to help with local area advice. A couple of very minor issues were dealt with promptly. The cottage was small but ideal for me and my wife and 2 dogs. Would definitely recommend this cottage and would definitely look to return in the future.

We have been here a few times now and love the peace and surrounding countryside, will be back soon.

We found eskdale cottage to be very comfortable and clean, ideal spot for exploring the area, yes a bit off the beaten track down a very narrow road but expected that knowing Yorkshire, only 10 miles from Whitby and easy to get to other places, countryside amazing, will definitely recommend it,

fabulous time had ,fantastic hosts.

wonderful for our 2 jack russels ,so made our holiday better and stress free.
