A comfortable, homely cottage in beautiful spot.

Various birds visit front garden and are lovely to watch. Back garden has terrace which is quiet and relaxing, looking out onto countryside. The cottage is eqipped with everything you need for a holliday. A welcome pack of fresh eggs, bread, butter and biscuits is a lovely touch. Thank you for a lovely stay.

A lovely cottage, great location.

Was welcomed with milk, butter and cake and fresh eggs. We had lovely weather and was able to sit in the garden which the grassy bit is over a small gravel lane but no roads to worry about with putting the dogs over there. The neighbours also have sheep but the dogs got used to them. A very comfortable cottage. We enjoyed our stay here.

A proper cottage experience.

Lovely views and a quiet village. Fridge is small but fine if you don't buy too much at once.

Lovely cottage in the perfect place , lots of nice walks from your Door step and Not too far to travel to other destinations.

The cottage was very cozy with everything you needed . Very close to the very Freindly local pub whom couldn't have been more accommodating. Just wish I'd booked to stay longer !

Very nice cosy cottage only downside for elderly people are the stairs particularly with the bathroom being downstairs.

Owner communication perfect and rapid. Bed. Shower excellent and bathroom immaculate Cottage warm without need for fire. Lots of visitor area information. Lovely views of the countryside from front and rear windows would have been further enhanced had the downstairs windows been cleaner..Bird table very entertaining. Otherwise:- (Surprised to be able to hear next door through the wall on occasion). Provision of torch for use down the garden path for dogs before bed good. The single bed mattress for me was very bouncy and not that comfortable,however for a child would be excellent,we were plagued by flies but that seems to be pretty general everywhere,but not something that the owner could possibly control,the kitchen windows could do with a clean so the view can be admired,and yes a beautiful view.

Overall the cottage is well equipped,the quietness is something to treasure,the grounds to the property are fabulous for dogs,and plenty of seating and relaxing outside,which we all enjoyed especially with the fabulous weather we had,a note for future renters to the property,the Ancliffe Arms pub is not open all the time and neither are shops and other pubs in other villages,so check before hand to avoid disappointment,the train doesn't run regular,the local bus can be hailed down and if you require a taxi into Whitby it us £24 approx,Hart Cottage is a delightful place to stay,enjoying peace and quiet and scenery.The large bathtub was a bonus after plenty of long walks.This cottage is situated in a safe area,and for those that like animals,sheep,rabbits and the odd chicken can be seen and heard.The cottage is well kitted out for the needs of those staying,the stairs are tight and could cause a problem for some however this has already been mentioned by the owner but didn't cause my party any problems.Parking was easy with additional parking at the rear,gates to keep your animals safe,so in all a very enjoyable week,and Sykescottages.co.uk were very helpful getting us the dates that we required,so in all a great time we're had by me my son and daughter in law and our labrador dog Ellie.Thankyou to everyone.

Overall very good, great position.

The bed was very comfortable as was the sitting room seating. Instructions for the storage heaters was out of date with the new system being controlled from the owners smart phone. The toilet seat was faulty as was the wall heater, both reported to the owner. Small problems aside, a very enjoyable week

We had a lovely quiet stay at Hart cottage.

The views from the property were beautiful. The neighbours were very friendly. Plenty of walks around the surrounding area, there is a train station a 5 minute walk from the cottage which takes you into Whitby Bay.

Hart Cottage was well equipped - every detail thought of.

The welcome pack was much appreciated and delicious. Beautiful location - lovely walks from the cottage and a great place to chill - sitting in the garden with a cuppa or just watching the birds on the feeder - saw our first ever woodpecker. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Nice cottage, stairs are a bit narrow and tight for anyone with walking problems, as bathroom down stairs.

Plenty of small walks to be had and pub does very good Sunday lunches.

This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location.

Everything needed for our stay was provided, including a really welcome selection of goodies as a welcome pack. There is a pub virtually next door and lovely walks down by the river and beyond. The cottage was super clean And really cosy with an easy to use log burner. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely cottage and we enjoyed having log fires to keep us snug.

Grateful for the welcome pack of goodies. Ideally located for trips west to likes of Helmsley and Rievaulx Abbey and to the East for the wonderful beach walks with our dogs.

welcome pack was excellent . toilet seat was wobbly, not a lot of storage in kitchen to put things we had brought as cupboards and drawers had things in them .loved watching the birds on bird feeder and kept it topped up.

Gorgeous views front and back, pub, walks from the doorstep in woods, by river and on hills, handy trains, and the coast is around 20 mins drive (or train ride) - you can't beat the location.

And Hart Cottage is generously fitted out and decorated. 100% recommend!

Kitchen was great to work in & welcome pack was so nice. We could not have asked for anything better. So much information there on things to see and do. The pub was very nice too friendly.

We found the cottage to be exactly what we wanted.

This was a lovely cottage in a beautiful village.

The owners had provided every item you could ever need. The view out of the front windows was amazing and in the front garden the animals that came to enjoy the nuts was something else, two different woodpeckers which I have never seen close up before plus a variety of birds and two squirrels, they kept us busy filling up the bird feeder! If you wanted a rest from driving just down the road was the train station which was very reasonably priced.

Hart cottage is very well presented on the out side and it does not disappoint on the in side.

This is a lovely cottage in a perfect location.

The owners had left a great welcome pack and had thought of everything for a comfortable home from home stay. There are beautiful views from every window. We stayed with our 2 dogs and the garden was secure for them with plenty of walks directly from the doorstep. The village itself is perfectly placed to explore further afield either by car or by train (station 2 min walk from property).

The cottage was very clean and comfortable, and very well equipped.

The location was perfect for us, being in lovely walking country and close enough to supermarkets for top-up shopping. The local pub was only a minute's walk away and served good wholesome food, and the staff were very friendly. The location was also very quiet and peaceful.

Hart Cottage was an absolute gem, very comfortable with nice views both front and rear, and a good sized garden to the rear.

Nice to see the birds using the feeder out the front, especially the woodpecker. Everything was spotlessly clean. We were so impressed with the toaster we have bought one ourselves! As others have mentioned, the welcome pack was excellent, and we particularly enjoyed the Yorkshire Brack. Superb eggs too! Nice walks from the village, along the river and over the moors. The furthest we drove all week was 20 miles to Saltburn. Enjoyed the train ride into Whitby. With many thanks to Kirstin and Warwick.

We had a wonderful stay at Hart cottage with my family.

A week in the quiet picturesque village of Glaisdale, exploring the nearby towns and villages, and of course taking the NYMR steam train. The cottage was clean, tastefully decorated, and equipped with everything one needs for an extended stay. We really liked the welcome pack with eggs, bread, biscuits, cake, milk, butter (came in very handy on our first day), and our son really enjoyed feeding the birds in the front yard. The owner was always available, helpful and responsive. Felt like a home away from home. We thoroughly recommend it.

The cottage is warm and cosy.

Everything is provided to make your holiday a wonderful experience. The garden is well looked after and will look lovely in the summer. The wild birds were a bonus, even the food is provided to fill the bird feeder. Pub restaurant just a minute away.Very friendly staff and great food. Take away our eat in. The Whitby Scampi was delicious. A short walk up to higher Glaisdale where there is a butchers and Village store / post office. Thank you for letting us stay your lovely Hart Cottage.

The cottage is in a lovely area with nice views out of the windows back and front, easy drive to Whitby and surrounding areas, park and ride very close by, everything you could need back at the cottage after a day out, couldn’t use the lovely garden out the back because we had a cold and wet week,

It was a really enjoyable stay.

On arrival a welcome pack of food, all local was soon consumed. The host was in touch with us to make the stay more comfortable, the log burner was used everyday to warm the cold evenings, very nice. The location was handy for all the main towns and moors villages. Plenty of local places to shop and eat. Would stay there again.

We had a great stay in Hart Cottage.

It was homely, warm and had everything you could possibly need. Beautifully furnished and stylishly decorated, it had a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. The bed was extremely comfortable and we loved the comfy chair too. There was a cupboard on the landing which had extra bedding, just in case. The fire was great, we loved it and so did the dogs. We loved feeding and watching the birds in the front garden and we kept filling the feeder up. The kitchen was super and easy to cook in. There were lots of special touches like the welcome pack with eggs, cake, milk etc, the nuts to feed the birds and the toiletries in the bathroom. I would highly recommend.

A week at hart cottage was an enjoyable experience.

I was tempted to extend the stay, yet had commitments. Peaceful relaxing time, lots of places to visit nearby. The owner is generous with welcome food gifts. Considering the time is November, I did not sit out in the garden at the front and back, both seated arranged, I would like to return maybe spring time to do this. The neighbours are friendly and welcoming. Beggars bridge is practically a stone throw, scenic paths to venture. A lovely experience. Thank you

A lot of love and thought has gone into Hart Cottage.

Tastefully furnished. Comfortable and clean. So well equipped. The owners have thought of everything. So much information on the area provided too. Maps, guide books etc. I would certainly recommend this cottage.

Toilet seat needs replacing.

Carpet sweeper huge beast of a thing I struggled to use, no way I could get it upstairs. Couldn’t find the fire guard. A stair gate would have been really useful . Loved the cottage, only downside was downstairs bathroom and very steep twisted stairs, my fisherman husband didn’t read the description properly, if he had we wouldn’t have come, we are in our late 70’s! That would have been a pity as it is lovely, in a beautiful area, with very convenient pub nearly next door. All very dog friendly, central location for walking, fishing and steam trains, lovely local people wherever we went. Recommend for fit and slim.

What a beautiful cottage, so nicely decorated and very comfortable.

It had all the facilities you could need. Great location, only a few door away from a lovely little pub, but we never heard any noise from it. Beautiful walks in the area.

it is a very lovely cottage, very homely and clean, it is also very well maintained.

Its position in Yorkshire is also very good, minutes away from the moors and Whitby approximately 8 miles away, also the other seaside resorts are not far away. There are also some lovely villages not far away and the railway station is a short walking distance away. The closest pub is about seven houses away which also do some nice meals.

Walks right from the cottage door over the beautiful moors. Friendly and helpful neighbours when the weather got interesting. We are hoping to go back again soon.

Lovely cosy cottage in great location for walks and short distance from Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Scarborough.

We have two dogs that thoroughly enjoyed the beaches especially Sand Ends to Whitby. We can highly recommend the very friendly Arncliffe Arms (run by Tony and Yvonne) which is about 6 doors away from Hart cottage for their Sunday roasts. I celebrated my 61st birthday in this pub and their very talented chef baked a birthday cake (coffee walnut - my favourite!) that my partner Carol had requested which they wouldn't take any payment for. Considering the time of year we had great weather which was a bonus to a perfect week away. Many thanks to Kirsty for providing her comfortable cosy cottage and welcome pack

Lovely cottage in a great location.

Ideally placed to explore coast and the Yorkshire Moors. Welcome pack was fantastic and the local pub, several doors down was very welcoming and served excellent food too. Pictures of garden on website were slightly misleading as there is no mention of the access road between the yard and the grassed area. Highly recommended.

We have just returned from a lovely few days at Hart cottage.

The cottage itself is so warm, comfortable and welcoming. Full of character but all the mod cons you could possibly need. The owners had kindly left us all sorts of goodies. The cottage is in a wonderful location with stunning views. Its also ideally situated to travel to Whitby, Pickering and Dalby forest. There is a very welcoming pub a few doors away that serves lovely food. We will definitely stay here again very soon.

Every detail to give us a comfortable and relaxing stay was considered.

There was an extremely helpful information pack and many leaflets about walks and places of interest. The cottage is tastefully furnished and the garden ideal to relax in. We were greeted with a very generous welcome pack and many extras to start us off for the week. It is most suitable for dogs with helpful furniture throws for them and even a portable dog bowl.

Hart cottage just what we wanted, from when walked in and found the table all set for breakfast and a full English in the fridge ready to be cooked.

The bedroom was big with a comfortable bed. Lovely gardens front and rear with seating to make the most of the views, With some much to do on the doorstep or a little further a field. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

We had a lovely warm welcome from the owner, who provided us with an amazing welcome pack of food!

The cottage was very comfortable and we had everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen was very well equipped, and had views over the field with sheep, lambs, a friendly horse and woodland. The bathroom is downstairs and has a lovely separate bath and shower. The lounge had very comfortable seating and we loved the wood burner on an evening. The double bedroom is very spacious and comfortable. There is also a single bedroom. We would highly recommend this cottage.

Very well equipped cottage, couldn't fault it for comfort.

Much better kitchen range than usual for a holiday cottage, including frying pans that were usable! Plenty of crockery as well. Cottage includes Internet access. Ideally placed for Glaisdale station for trips to Wetherby, Grosmont for Steam Trains and Middlesbrough (Ormesby hall) Several walks, including part of the C2C, can start from the front door. Would definitely choose again for a visit to the North Yorks Moors

Lovely cottage with many extras.

Great location next to Esk Valley walk. Cycling was a tad harder than we thought, but the roll top bath eased the pain! Kind host left a few basics to get us started too, which was really kind. The quiet pub (several doors down) was happy to let us have our drinks relaxing in the west facing front garden, and food was also very good.

Plenty of fuel for the log burner. It was very welcoming with the kitchen table set out and bread, milk and Yorkshire brack waiting for us. Good location for exploring the North York Moors and the coast. Lots of leaflets about local walks in the cottage.
