The Nook

We had a lovely week at the Nook.

Neil and Serena were perfect hosts. The cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything you would need, even a hot and cold dog wash. It is in a beautiful and reasonably remote location, good job Neil sent us the “what three words”.

The Nook was a beautiful property in a lovely location.

We were welcomed by Serina and Neil, our lovely hosts who were really helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The cottage was beautifully decorated and provided everything we could possibly need for our stay. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise, which was very much appreciated. The enclosed paddock was ideal for our dog Oscar who loved chasing the squirrels (never catching them of course). Although we didn’t use The Stumble Inn, we were too tired after our full days out, it was a great little place opening onto the paddock, ideal for warm days. We had a great time and would not hesitate in recommending The Nook. Definitely a home from home cottage.

We had an amazing time - the accommodation was spotless and of an extremely high standard.

The facilities were amazing - we spent a lot of time in the enclosed paddock bbqing and Barnaby the Labrador had the best time. The scenery is stunning and it is well placed for the lovely country pubs and Whitby . Neil and Serena were amazing as was the home made cake and welcome pack that greeted us - will be back here time and time again !

Had a really lovely few days at the Nook.

It's a cosy place in a gorgeous setting. Neil and Serena were fantastic hosts and helpful with all our requests including letting us have some friends to their little pub to celebrate my birthday. Highly recommended.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed 4 nights stay.

Comfortable, relaxing and surrounded by wonderful scenery. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet getaway.

Neil and serena were great host s they left a homemade cake teabags ,coffee bags ,bottle of wine ,and fresh bottle of milk it was very nice surprise, nothing was to much trouble for them the nook was very nice place to stay and we definitely be booking again for next year then even had bar you could use called the stumble inn .

The welcome and beautiful treats were perfect, so friendly and inviting. The property was really well presented and laid out, very clean and well stocked with everything you could need to enhance our stay, a home from home. There was even a lovely little 'pub' on site for guests 'The Stumble Inn' which was a lovely little surprise. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending The Nook and we will definitely be making a return visit. Thank you so much.

It was nice to be welcomed by Neil the owner and useful to be able to pick up tips for visiting the local attractions.

Absolutely great place for a quiet break.

The cottage is set in the most glorious surroundings and we can't fault the quality of the accomodation and the finish and fittings. We weren't blessed with the best weather and due to a bad back we couldn't stay for the duration of our booking which was a great shame. The owners, Neil and Serena were very helpful and a shame we didn't have time to get to know them better - maybe next time because we would love to come back again. The welcome gifts, wine (with a nice touch of own label on the bottle), delicious cake, flowers, dog treats were great. The paddock next to the cottage was great for Ellie, our bearded collie, so she could have a good run and play before going out for the day. Added bonus was the EV charger just outside the door which was easy to use and very reasonably priced - paid direct to owners.

Lovely little cottage, Just enough for the two of us.

Good sized kitchen with all the facilities you need. Nicely decorated and immaculately clean. Some nice extra touches- tea, coffee, milk, home made cake and a bottle of wine were left for us. Very nice

The Nook is bijou at it's very best in a superb setting.

Thoughtful touches left by owner on arrival -- milk, tea, in-house wine, doggy towels and treats -- in what is altogether a lovely little home for two. A large, fully-enclosed paddock is perfect for the hound to run around in, and there's even an on-site honesty--box micro-pub. Friendly and ultra--helpful owners round-off nicely the five-star farm/outdoors experience.

This is a fantastic place to stay and looking forward to returning.

We had a wonderful long weekend at the nook ,the location is perfect for a quiet away from it all break hosts where very welcoming along with molly their spaniel who got on happily with our spaniel , the nook is well equipped with modern well equipped kitchen and shower room and was spotlessly clean , would recommend to anyone

Without any doubt, this is the best appointed self-catering cottage we've stayed in.

Small, but perfectly formed to suit two - and a terrier dog who had a safe paddock opposite the entrance. It was with a real sense of disappointment that we had to leave.

We’ve just got back from a short break at the nook.

It was absolutely perfect from start to finish. We received a lovely welcome from the owners. Upon entry in to the cottage we were left a very thoughtful welcome pack. The cottage is absolutely as the photos show, it’s a small one bed that is immaculately presented. The owners have thought of everything. It’s situated just outside of Glaisdale in a remote valley. Walks and cycle routes on the door step, but only 25 minutes into Whitby. The grounds are amazing and perfect if you have a dog, they can have a good run in the “paddock”. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break and will be sure to return!
