It was the perfect cottage for a mini break with friends.
Our dog was made to feel extremely welcome and the enclosed garden gave him some freedom but kept him secure. Great location for visiting local villages and walking along a stunning coastline.

Lovely little place!

Hi The property is well placed for a varied coastline with plenty to see and do.
From birdwatching at Bempton to fairground rides at Bridlington. The property was clean and well maintained. Downstairs was spacious and light. The sofas could do with an upgrade though Upstairs The beds were comfortable and the rooms were dark for sleeping with the velux blinds. Good wardrobe/drawer space in large bedroom but storage in second bedroom was sparse. Bathroom could do with upgrading decor wise, shower and hot water plentiful. Hot tub was well appreciated!! Only myself to blame at 6'2 I spent sometime dodging the low ceiling and beams. I would not say it is suitable for 4 people but for a couple, three at most, it's little quirks didn't really spoil anything.

The downstairs was well presented with and enormous kitchen.
The bedrooms however were small with very low ceilings/beams. Both of us are under 5feet 6inches but still bumped our heads. I can't see how you can comfortably use one of the beds in the twin room ; sitting up in bed is impossible. Overall, we had a good stay , very quiet and the hot tub was fantastic.

Downstairs was ok, very spacious, settees probably due for replacing.
Upstairs was very cramped with dangerous beams throughout. One of the twin beds was right under a beam making it highly dangerous. Room was so small there were no drawers or wardrobe. Bathroom needs updating.

The only downside was the bed was broke but it was ok with the mattress on the floor.
We had a fantastic holliday and the place we stayed in was lovely. I would like to go again some day.

This is such a cute little place to stay and the hot tub is of course a wonderful bonus.
It accommodation is very well equipped for us and even the dog had a welcome pack which is a lovely touch. We will definitely stay at Kittiwake again, thanks for having us!

The cottage’s was really nice inside, the main issue was the double bed being broken, the screws that hold the slates in was loose causing the slats to come out 4 time over two days.
So my partner had to sleep in a single bed. Due to this issue we didn’t sleep very well with fear of the bed collapsing.

Wooden floor in lounge would be more appropriate in dog friendly unit

We enjoyed the stay.
The rooms downstairs are pleasantly large. the lawn at the back was good for the 2 dogs; we used long leads attached to a metal peg screwed into the ground. The 2nd bedroom is quite small so why is it half-filled with enormous, decorative, useless cushions? The location on the edge of Flamborough is ideal for frequent visits to RSPB Bempton Cliffs (wonderful) but also for the co-op and pubs in the village.

We had a family break including our dog, had a great time, lovely accommodation, had everything you need, comfortable and felt secure If there was any issues it would be that its pet friendly but out the back its not fenced off so the dog couldn't be let off the lead to run around.
Also inside the main bedroom and bathroom, for someone like myself who is 6ft the slopeing roof and beams were a problem, obviously it's part of the structure of the roof, but this didn't detract from our break, its very close to everything, short drive to Bridlington, bit further for Scarborough. One thing if your planning on eating in the accommodation most nights take plenty of food and drink as there is no supermarkets nearby. However had a great time, highly recommended.

A really pleasant place to stay very clean and tidy.
My only concern was the bathroom floor was very spongy to say the least other than that it was a very peaceful and comfortable place to stay

A lovely cottage which was spotlessly clean.
Great to have towels ect to clean dogs as weather was atrocious. Only thing I would suggest that it could have enclosed garden which would be good in the summer as you could leave door open for dogs

A very high standard. The shared garden with the other connecting cottages are Beautiful, but boundaries are unsafe for dogs

The cottage really was a home from home, it had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The thoughtful basket of dog supplies and selection of tea’s and coffee’s were also a nice touch and very appreciated. All in all the cottage was perfect

The holiday cottage was nice and clean but attention needed to some aspects: Coffe Machine not working properly and leaked badly Fridge freezer badly needs defrosting, drawers in freezer difficult to open due to build up of ice Bathroom door did not lock Would not recommend Sykes Cottages due to inaccuracy of listing (ie enclosed garden), also very difficult to speak to anyone and didn’t respond to emails.

Firstly, the main complaint we had was the no secure garden for our 3 dogs.
The cottage next to us did have a fenced off garden. We were informed by the maintainer that all the cottages are being given Fenced off gardens gradually as we were not the only people to complain. The electric oven didn't work, so we had a new one two days before leaving. So prior to that we were using the microwave or going to the local pub, that was brilliant food. There was no vacuum, broom/mop in the cottage so it was difficult to keep the floor clean . We don't like to leave any property with mess. My husband did get a vacuum from the laundry room (wasn't sure if that was correct).The area wasn't ideal for dogs, we only found one good beech for them to have a good run around.

The only reason I scored a nine for comfort was that I did bump my head a couple of times upstairs on the low beams.
I am six foot tall so this maybe more of a problem to someone taller.
