“The New Chapel - albeit with a few minor issues - is one of the most unusual and impressive cottages we have stayed in over the years.”

The property, and the adjoining Old Chapel have been converted by the owners to a very high standard, and level of comfort. The property, and the adjoining Old Chapel have been converted by the owners to a very high standard, and level of comfort. Indeed, you get the impression that you are taking part in TV home design program! Unfortunately there are some small irritating features. The two en-suite facilities and the downstairs cloakroom - although of a very high standard - lack space for toiletries etc (eg the large washbasins use practically all the surface area of its base - so you end up with toiletries precariously balanced around the basin). A storage shelf and some hooks would make life easier. Secondly, both bedrooms - although very comfortable - are much smaller than the photos imply. The beds are large and comfortable but there is very little space between the furniture to move around. Thirdly, small waste bins in the bedrooms and en-suites would have been appreciated. A useful and easy addition would be a second matching bannister on the left side. As an elderly person I found it hard work getting up and downstairs - although I was aware from the photos that there was only a single bannister and was prepared to cope because we liked the look of the property. Would we book the New Chapel again? If we were a few years younger - like a shot! Now, with some mobility problems, probably no. However, despite the niggles, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in what must be one of the most memorable conversions of a historic building. (A little less wind and rain would have helped though!)
