“Loved the location for visiting area and coast.”

Cottage comfortable inside and loved the large kitchen and main bedroom. On first day had to defrost the fridge/freezer as top drawer frozen solid and had ice cube tray frozen inside. Could not open the drawer until defrosted fully. Did not appear to have been defrosted since purchased!? Dreadful smell in lounge which was apparent on entering front door. Located to the mop and bucket in cupboard under the stairs. Left it outside backdoor for the duration of our stay. Bathroom sink appears to ...

Bathroom sink appears to be blocked as took ages to drain after having sink full of water for washing/ shaving. Lovely hot weather but disappointed in garden seating, not comfortable to relax on at end of day when we returned from our trips out. Garden very overgrown, grass was cut a couple of days before we left. Took a while to adjust shower temperature, initially too hot then too cold. Once regulated didn't alter settings.

Hi thanks for your feedback sorry you had these issues. I would just like to address them. I have requested that the cleaners replace the mop head as it needs to be left available for guests that may need to use it for any reason ie pets etc. unfortunately the freezer should defrost itself so thank you for bringing that to our attention. As for the seating in the garden we have provided a picnic bench on the grassed area and a single bench at the top of the garden because we find it such a nice view. The gardener comes every other week to cut the grass and once a month to do a tidy of the borders and hedges. Further to the other issues we do send an email and text to all our guests prior to arrival including yourself highlighting that if you have any issues/problems to contact us personally or get in touch with the holiday let company as they have engineers on call 24/7 to address these issues as we live quite far from the cottage. All their information is available in the welcome pack. Hope this didn’t spoil your stay and would like to welcome you back in the future Kind regards Property Owner

About the location

GROSMONT

Whitby 5 miles.

The pretty village of Grosmont sits at the junction of the River Esk and Murk Esk in the midst of striking North Yorkshire Moors scenery. The area is characterised by its narrow roads, steep hills and scenic views over valleys of patchwork fields and wide-open expanses of moorland. Grosmont itself lies in the ‘Heartbeat Country’ and is famous for being the home of the North York Moors Steam Railway. The Railway has been preserved and run by enthusiasts since 1973 and today carries upwards of 300,000 passengers a year. The village has a general store, post office, book shop, art gallery, cafes and a pub. It makes a great base for exploring the many pretty farming villages along the Esk Valley and the wider North York Moors National Park, as well as the North Yorkshire Coastline with characterful harbour towns and villages.
