    “We really enjoyed our stay.”

    The cottage was in the perfect spot for us, out of the hustle and bustle of Scarborough but a short daily drive to the beach. We also spent time in Dalby Forest as my older sons love mountain biking, this was around a 30 minute drive from the cottage. The cottage was basic but clean and the beds were comfy, to be honest all we really did was sleep there as the weather was so good we were out almost all day and every evening. Got used to the church bells after night one and didn't really notice ...

One of these Scalby cottages is single-storey, and has been adapted to be easily accessible for the less mobile. Ideally located within an area of outstanding beauty, this district is perfect for walking and cycling the renowned Dalby Forest trails. The picturesque village of Scalby lies just 2.5 miles from the seaside resort of Scarborough. The village centre, with its stone cottages and Victorian houses, boasts good facilities, with a pub, two local shops, a quaint tea room, a hairdressers and a beauty salon. Surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful countryside, with thousands of hectares of moors and forest, it makes the perfect place to stay, with numerous public footpaths and the well-known Scalby Beck, which winds its way to the coast. A weekly farmers market is held in the grounds of St. Lawrence’s Church Rooms, selling local produce. With Scarborough on the doorstep, with its fine, sandy beaches, good restaurants and bustling town centre, Scalby provides a lovely retreat after a busy day out!
