The most cutest cottage with everything anybody would need staying away from home!

It’s extremely comfortable from the cosy front room to the beds! Christine is a fabulous hostess and is very responsive and flexible. Location is fabulous, beautiful Staithes and Whitby within a short drive! Will defo stay there in the future if I’m over that way!!!

We had a wonderful week at Mill Cottage - the house was so pretty and cosy, while at the same time being extremely well-equipped.

We loved the home-made bramble jelly and slept like logs in the comfortable beds. The garden was also a real treat, giving us a beautiful place to sit out in the evenings for our meals or just drinks while the sun went down. It's amazing how many places miss obvious things (like a mirror in each bedroom, or a reading lamp by each bed, or a spare socket in the bedrooms to charge your phone) but Mill Cottage didn't miss a trick and we would definitely stay again!

Gorgeous dog friendly garden attached to the property.

Weather was glorious during our stay so we made use of this and the patio area. We were provided with delicious homemade berry jam, crisps and wine by Christine (our host). We used the cottage as our base for a week, visiting family in North and East Yorkshire. We’ve already booked another week later this year

Mill Cottage was perfect for us.

A lovely cottage which was tastefully decorated and furnished and had all the facilities, appliances and utensils we needed. The living room was cosy with a comfortable settee and chairs and a very welcome log burner. The kitchen was nice and we were able to cook some nice meals with the facilities. The bedroom was spacious with plenty of storage and a very comfy bed - we slept well. The garden was really nice with a great patio with table, chairs and umbrella and a big lawn. It was perfect for the dog as it is fully enclosed. There is a washing line if you do washing. Wi-Fi worked very well and we had no trouble streaming videos etc. We met Christine a couple of times and she was lovely and chatty and very helpful with our questions. The location in Hinderwell is excellent with Saltburn only 10 miles north and Whitby 10 miles south. Plenty of places to visit. We walked along the cliff to Staithes a couple of times. Overall, a great choice and we hope to book again

Nearby to Staithes, Saltburn, Markske, Redcar, Robin Hoods Bay. Two local pubs, can park at Badger Hounds if eating and drinking. Toilet rolls, kitchen roll and handy equipped kitchen, Internet good, heating and hot water works well thoughtful of people staying- thank you. Improvement Could do with parking slot and netflix

We had a perfect holiday in this lovely cottage.

It is very clean and cosy and an ideal location to explore this beautiful part of the coast. The butchers, chip shop and buses were excellent too. The owner was very kind and communication was excellent. Would highly recommend a stay in this cottage.

, Just 2 doors away was a lovely fish and chip shop . No problem parking our car ,plenty of places to visit . A lovely place to chill .

Brilliant place our second time.

Maybe a smart TV would be good now so people can get on their Netflix or Amazon Prime accounts especially when the weather isn't too good because the Internet was very good. Can't wait to come back.

The cottage is central in the village, with two pubs, that are dog friendly thirty seconds away, butchers, chippy and a co-op nearby. It was perfect for us, being near all the places we wanted to visit. We would really like to stay again, but for longer next time. Constructive criticism. I was excited to find tea pots ( rare these days) but no tea cosy. No potato peeler ( my arm hurt using a knife) What a lovely little cottage and the owner obviously takes pride.

We had a lovely stay in this little cottage.

A perfect location for exploring the Cleveland Way and surrounding costal areas. The cottage was very comfortable and very well equipped with everything we needed. We especially like the garden which is enclosed and peaceful and great for our dog. Local pubs serve excellent food, butchers and chip shop right next door and bus stop with great service just a short walk from the cottage. Parking is on the main road but we never had any trouble finding a parking space close by. The welcome pack was a really nice touch thank you. Would highly recommend and would definitely visit again

Once again we found nothing to complain about our stay at Mill Cottage.

It was delightful and the walled garden a real bonus for dog honours and a pleasure for the humans to enjoy the sunshine - even in March!

Lovely cottage in a great location!

This is a cosy cottage in a good location.

Two pubs, a butcher/convenience store and garage are within walking distance and it’s a 20 min walk to Runswick Bay. The cottage is well maintained and very comfortable. We stayed over New Year and it was perfect for a one week stay. Good shower, heating, log fire, comfy beds with high quality towels and bed linen provided, central heating and a log fire. It was lovely.

The owner supplied useful items as well as some lovely extra touches. We had a lovely and very comfortable stay. Highly recommended.

A lovely, comfortable and well equipped cottage in the small village of Hinderwell.

No on site parking available but parking on the main road was fine. The secure enclosed garden was ideal for our dog. The cottage is well placed to explore the numerous beaches nearby.

One of our most enjoyable weeks in the Whitby area over many years experience.

A very cosy and surprisingly quiet cottage for its position on the main Hinderwell Road. The private garden was a perfect place for relaxation between trips and so quiet and peaceful. The lack of on site parking was a worry but loads of on road parking was always available. Very clean and the best holiday cottage shower I have used - good constant temperature and a surprisingly good water pressure. Top marks for the way the cottage was presented - an ideal spot for 3 people and a dog to have a wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful time at Mill Cottage.

It's in a great location to access all the main villages and resorts on the coast nearby... the x4 bus was invaluable to get us to all the places we wanted to go without driving and having to fund parking etc! The garden at the cottage was lovely and so safe for our cockerpoo Benji..ha has a ball and the flagged patio area was lovely to enjoy a vino or two on after a busy day! The cottage itself was lovely but just a little tired in places that's my only negative. All in all a lovely holiday!

Has everything you can possibly need. Comfortable bed. Lovely well kept enclosed garden suitable and safe if you have a dog. Hamper provided by owner much appreciated. Thoroughly enjoyed holiday. Lovely area of Yorkshire plenty of walks and lovely beaches. Runswick Bay only a mile from cottage is well worth a visit.

Lovely cottage with a beautiful secure garden for dog to play in and for us to sit out and enjoy the sun.

The location is ideal, very close to Staithes and Whitby, the dog loves the sea so we went to coast every day, go to sand send as great beach and only 29p parking for an hour, plenty time for dog to enjoy the sea. We then explored the moors, loads of lovely villages, and great walks, we had a fantastic week.

A lovely extremely well equipped cottage.

It was spotless when we arrived. Practically perfect in every way. The garden was beautiful and very safe for our dog. We were really pleased with the welcome package provided by the owner. Lovely village with an excellent pub Badger hounds and a very well stocked butchers with all the essentials you may need.

It had a well maintained, secure garden which was a relaxing place to sit out in and have a coffee/wine and read a book. It was great for our dog too. The welcome pack left by Christine was a very kind gesture and very much enjoyed . It is nicely placed to visit Staithes and Runswick Bay, which we did during our time there.

Very friendly place. Lovely comfortable cosy cottage with enclosed back garden ideal for our two dogs. Garden very pretty & well kept with nice patio area which gets the sun for most of day. Overall a lovely holiday. Ideal place to explore the coastal towns of Whitby & Scarborough. Also Robin Hood's Bay & Saltburn & Staithes. Hope to be back one day. Thankyou very much.

Absolutely fabulous cottage and very comfy.

Christine had every detail down in writing so everything and where to go was at our disposal. Caught first three days in sunshine on patio which was a sun trap. Garden very safe for my cocker. He loved it and fish shop a few yards away and butchers which sold everything. Sirloin was delicious. Pubs a few yards opposite which sold fab meals but we couldn’t fit it in. Central for Whitby Runswick Bay and many other places. Thank you Christine wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

Facilities met our needs for the week and then location was a perfect base to explore Whitby and the surrounding areas. The owner visited us on our first evening to make sure we had everything we needed and the welcome goodies were very much appreciated. Garden was safe for our dog and the outdoor seating was perfect for the gorgeous weather we had. Would definitely recommend and we’d love to return again!

Little cottage, set back off the main high street but perfectly positioned for fantastic walks, 2 pubs, chippy & butcher ( who does lots of other things to) .

The cottage was spotless, quality bedding and great range of usable utensils in the kitchen ( sharp knives/ decent pans) . The log burner in the lounge made for a cosy evening & the local garage sold more supplies. BbQ supplied was used, and the Spar on the road in to staithes sold coal. The garden was a sun trap and full of little birds. Christine the owner was so helpful, great communication and left a wonderful welcome pack…. Even with mixed weather we couldn’t fault it. A fabulous holiday that we hope to return to.

Lots of nice walks on the doorstep. Plus we were greeted with homemade jam, wine and snacks for the baby, so we were sold from the start. Highly recommended!!

This is a great cottages well stocked with the utilities you need, with a lovely garden in a great location.

Whilst it’s just outside some of the main beachside towns it’s only between a 2 and 4 min drive to Runswick bay or Staithes or you could just hop on the local bus which runs every hour. Make sure you take cash though as the large majority of shops and cafes are cash only

Cottage is in a good location for walks as they're right on your doorstep or not too far in the car to Whitby if your legs are too tired!

This was our second visit to this charming cottage, which speaks volumes for the accommodation as far as we are concerned as we have never done this before.

Perfect for Staithes and Whitby and runswi k bay

We have stayed in quite a few Sykes cottages and this is one of the best.

A very clean and comfortable cottage with a well equipped kitchen, sweet shower room with a lovely view and a most comfortable bed. The added bonus is the a south west facing private garden with superb wooden chairs and table. Big thank you to the owner for her thoughtful welcome gifts, particularly the delicious homemade jam! As we enjoyed mainly good sunny weather we spent quite a lot of time relaxing in the garden and it was great knowing the dog couldn't get out.. Hinderwell is a friendly village and a great base for visiting the many delightful beaches and tourist favourites near by.We enjoyed our week very much and would like to stay there again. Eleanor

Hinderwell is perfectly placed for visiting the area.

Although the main road is very busy the cottage is tucked away & surprisingly quite with a lovely sunny garden which was perfect for our dog.

It was like home from home very clean and comfortable. The cottage had everything we needed in it , it was nice and quiet.

The cottage was just what we wanted, It was very comfortable and warm, well equipped and in an ideal place for exploring the area.

Since we were here last, it has changed ownership with great positive effect. The new owner, Christine, paid us a visit whilst we were there to meet us and check that there were no problems. A very lovely lady who can be assured that we will be there again!

Brilliant holiday to Mill Cottage Hinderwell.

The owner telephoned us 3 days prior to holiday to explain how to get the key and to answer any questions we may have had, this I thought was excellent as we were going to phone the day after. On arrival we were pleased with the accomodation and with a welcoming pack which included wines. The cottage was just as the pictures and write up stated on your website we were not disapointed. As this is our second time in a Sykes holiday accomodation we did not expect anything less. The cottage was clean and well laid out with all the essentials on hand very well equipped. Hinderwell is a good base for sighseeing in the area with places like Whitby, Redcar, Middlesborough. Scarborough on hand as well as the Steam Engines where we were able to view in the engine sheds and the home of Heartbeat where they carried out the filming. The Brown Cow over the road where we were able to take the dog and we ate there on several occasions as the food is good and the people very friendly, as with the butcher in the village who supplies the pub with meat which resulted in us bringing a good selection of top quality meat home. All in all we were extremely satisfied both my wife and I and her nephew as well as the dog who also enjoyed herself. Once again many thanks Pat & Dennis Casement

Very good cottage our 4stay

A quaint little cottage,set in a little village, with everything you could need included to be self sufficient.

Central for great walks and bays. Would definitely recommend. Local people are friendly and accommodating. Outstanding views and lots of places to visit.

The cottage was really lovely, clean, warm and very tidy.

The garden was a bonus with us having a dog and we could let her out without any problems. The only thing i would suggest would be to have either a freezer or a freezer compartment within the fridge as we struggled to keep what we had frozen wise frozen. The 2 pubs which we thought we were near only on served food and the other was only open 3 nights in the week which ment we had to travel further afield for meals out. All in all it was perfect place to stay, just enough room and everything to hand. I think it is relatively new to the owners so it does take time to get everything right but so far they are doing a wonderful job. We would recommend the cottage to our friends and family and Sykes have done us proud once again.

Not the best weather, but super comfortable. The fish and chip shop and local shop very close. Fish and chips a must....10 out of 10.
