“This is the most beautiful house in a pretty village .”

It is lovingly furnished with period furniture and artefacts befitting its age . It was very comfortable both in the seating areas and the bedrooms . The bedding and curtains were luxurious and spotlessly clean . Our family of seven adults and four children had plenty of room to play and relax both inside and outside the house in the fabulous garden . The spotless kitchen was certainly well equipped and had everything you need to cook a meal for eleven people and we enjoyed the seating area in ...

The spotless kitchen was certainly well equipped and had everything you need to cook a meal for eleven people and we enjoyed the seating area in the garden while having our barbacue . If you appreciate an historical setting surrounded by period furnishings, then this is the house to stay in .The house is a credit to the hosts Heather and Kevin . The location is great for the coastal towns nearby and also the water park which is just down the road. (The water park hosts the weekly Parkrun as well as water activities ) A most memorable time was had by all . Celia Gibson

About the location

HUTTON BUSCEL

Scarborough 5 miles.

The small, picturesque village of Hutton Buscel lies five miles south west of Scarborough, quietly situated on a hillside, with glorious views over open countryside. Pretty stone cottages and houses line the main street from end to end in this ancient, well kept village. The original 12th century church was altered in later periods and has been fully restored, and also has links to the famous Whitby Abbey. Close to the Downe Arms, Country pub and restaurant and wedding venue in Wykeham Village. East Ayton lies just a mile below the village and has a good local shop, fish and chip restaurant and country pub. The stunning scenery in and around the Forge Valley is ideal for walkers, with many woodland and open countryside tracks, whilst the popular seaside town of Scarborough is only a few minutes' drive. With easy access to the market towns of Pickering, Malton and Helmsley and numerous attractions nearby, Hutton Buscel makes a perfect place to stay. There are good golf courses at Kirkbymoorside and Scarborough, a steam railway and trout fishing at Pickering, and castles, gardens and museums all close by including Helmsley Castle, Duncombe Park and Ryedale Folk Museum.
