“The size of the house was great for our family gathering for a special birthday.”

However there are far too many old relics, pottery, pictures about for children. Every wall had several paintings on and there at least 5 cabinets with old pottery and what looks like royal doltan figures. The garden is big but the borders full of nettles so we had to be careful when retrieving balls Make sure you flush the toilets with the lids down as the water shoots over the bowl when you flush. The garden is big but the borders full of nettles so we had to be careful when retrieving balls Make sure you flush the toilets with the lids down as the water shoots over the bowl when you flush. Bring a fly squatter as there are lots of flies about as the farm is right behind. The owner doesn't always get back immediately but was helpful to get a paddling pool filled up. Settees smelled of wet dog but pets are allowed so thats our fault for not checking. The ice maker and cold drink machine on the fridge didn't work which would have been helpful in the heat wave we had this week . This could be a lovely property if the tired uncomfortable seetees were upgraded and the relics removed. If you like antiques roadshow meets sort your life out then this is the house for you. The area is lovely and the village quite . We visited the church and stumbled on a coffee morning, the locals were really friendly and the village has some interesting history. Overall we had a lovely holiday, we made the most of it . The weather was fab which was a blessing as the house isn't really designed for children so they were outside mostly.

The small, picturesque village of Hutton Buscel lies five miles south west of Scarborough, quietly situated on a hillside, with glorious views over open countryside. Pretty stone cottages and houses line the main street from end to end in this ancient, well kept village. The original 12th century church was altered in later periods and has been fully restored, and also has links to the famous Whitby Abbey. Close to the Downe Arms, Country pub and restaurant and wedding venue in Wykeham Village. East Ayton lies just a mile below the village and has a good local shop, fish and chip restaurant and country pub. The stunning scenery in and around the Forge Valley is ideal for walkers, with many woodland and open countryside tracks, whilst the popular seaside town of Scarborough is only a few minutes' drive. With easy access to the market towns of Pickering, Malton and Helmsley and numerous attractions nearby, Hutton Buscel makes a perfect place to stay.
