Wonderful place to stay.

Owners lovely and friendly. Carter's Cottage so comfy with the added luxury of a hot tub looking out across the countryside. So peaceful too.

My octogenarian parents loved it and said they would definitely come back to stay if they revisit the area.

They were delighted with the kind gesture of biscuits, tea and milk that greeted them, when they arrived. Because of their age and personal preference, they found the mattress a little too firm for them. However, I'm sure others would prefer this.

Very pleased with the cottage very clean friendly staff and fantastic location.

Lovely little cottage with great facilities.

Really enjoyed our stay. Just a couple of points that were very minor and were not a problem for us but might be borne in mind. We couldn't find scissors. Were there some? Could be just us not looking properly but might be worth providing. If you could afford it, I would consider trying to even up the area around the hot tub and concreting the rocks securely as these wobble if you stand on them. I appreciate this might be an expensive undertaking though and is a suggestion only, not a criticism. Thank you Julia Jackson

It’s an ideal location to enjoy both Scarborough and Whitby.

The view looking out from the hot tub as the sun sets is amazing. Location is lovely and quiet. The property has everything you need for a relaxing getaway.

This was our 3rd visit to Carters and we love the place.

We absolutely loved staying in this little cottage.

The kitchen was well equipped, the cottage cosy and spotless, and the hot tub fantastic. Location was particularly good, with easy access to Whitby, Scarborough and the moors by car (however, car is essential). Meeting House Farm had a lovely non-corporate family feel (we loved the friendly cats) and we would definitely stay again. Our only suggestion would be more lights in the living room and a slightly softer mattress. We look forward to returning :)

Had a lovely stay for 3’nights in this cottage.

Well equipped, everything you need. We couldn’t get on WiFi, contacted owner and he came over in a few minutes to help us get sorted. There was a power cut one night in the whole area and again the owner came over with candles. Very much appreciated. Hot tub was great. Would definitely come again. Nice location, near Whitby and Robinhoods Bay.

Very reasonably priced for what you get.

Lovely little cottage perfect for a couple, and bigger cottages around to cater for families. Although we didn't meet the owners, you can tell they take pride in their cottages. Very clean and tidy, and the hot tub was perfect after a long day of walking down the stunning Yorkshire coast. Highly recommend the walk down the Cinder track to Robin Hoods Bay, and the Cleveland Way track from Whitby the other side. All in all a lovely getaway for us, thank you!

The accommodation is well organised and well equipped.

The bathroom has recently been refurbished and is very clean and tidy. The heating is adequate and we were very comfortable. There is ample off-road parking and pleasant views. We saw 3 roe deer in the adjacent meadow one morning. All in all a very enjoyable stay. Phil and Marg.

Very comfortable and very accurate listings, we had an excellent week and the hot tub at the end of every day was amazing. We will be looking at returning to the same property it was that good.

Informed Sykes of several issues, some were dealt with by the owner, unfortunately Sykes were most unhelpful.

Cute and cosy cottage for a lovely New Year break.

Warm and clean and well appointed with nice furnishings and a fabulous hot tub. We loved our stay here. Friendly owners. We had lunch at the Hare and Hounds at Hawkser, recommended. A coffee machine would be the only improvement.

It was a lovely stay.

The cottage is cleans, comfortable and the hot tub is ace! It's a short drive away from Scarborough, Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby. The cottage was easy to find and not too far from local amenities.

Very much as described and exactly as required.

First night something tripped the electrics. Left a voicemail and within 10 mins there was someone to fix it at our door. Wendy was lovely and full of apologies. Hot tub was just what Dr ordered after visits to Robin Hoods Bay and surrounding towns.

The cottage was lovely and clean and had everything that was needed for a 3 night stay and the owners had left milk and biscuits for us which was a really nice gesture from them l,unfortunately for us we only stayed 1 night out of 3 as we found the bed extremely uncomfortable and also was concerned about the step when getting out of the shower also the route to thr hot tub tricky as no proper path to if also once out of it and heading back inside we found that the outside light didn't work until you had reached the back door so that was difficult in the dark,as i day the cottage inside is lovely and welcoming but the experience was marred by a couple of things or maybe it just wasn't for us

Cosy cottage, beautiful location, 10/10 recommend.

The cottage was absolutely spotless, and the owners have really thought about the little added extras that make a stay extra special. We stayed in Carter's, and relaxing in the hot tub after a day out exploring the different bays and costal towns, with the stars above was amazing! We can't wait to come back and stay again. A little gem of a place.

Lovely little cottage, spotless, comfy beds, fabulous hot tub, very enjoyable four nights

This was a sweet little cottage in a great location handy for walks along the Cleveland Way and the cinder trail and within easy reach of Whitby and Scarborough.

The listing states that double glazing has been recently fitted and the owners have opted for fully opaque glass. This made the cottage very gloomy inside. Also be aware that the fridge is a larder with no ice compartment so not able to freeze ice packs for picnic lunches or make ice for drinks.

We had a fantastic holiday at Meeting House farm.

The accommodation was adequate and just what we wanted for our break. The owners were very friendly, as were all the local people. The site where the cottage is was brilliant for touring Yorkshire moors and Whitby, Scarborough and loads more. All in all we had an unforgettable holiday.

This was the fifth time we have stayed at carter's and as usual we had a great time .

It was just what we both needed after the craziness of December/Christmas. The cottage was bigger than I expected. Was lovely and clean. Had everything you could ever need. The hottub was amazing. Very lovely stay.

Beautiful little cottage with just about everything you need. Perfect for weekends away or short weeks holiday. Lots of sight seeing around, and towns not to too far if you need anything. The only thing me and my partner would say, is that the living room can get quite cold in the evenings (probably just winter months), even with the heating on. Extra blankets would be nice, or a draft excluder for the front door maybe. Other than that, it was perfect.

The accommodation was perfect for us.

The location is fantastic close to the Cleveland Way and Cinder Track but in a quiet area. Very easy to get to Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay all within a 20 minute drive. You can walk if you prefer and if you don’t fancy doing the round trip, the buses are excellent. We walked from the cottage to Robin Hoods Bay via the Cleveland Way and back along the cinder track. Another day we parked at Robin Hoods Bay and walked along the Cleveland Way to Whitby and back the same way as the views were outstanding both ways. We also visited Staithes and walked from there to Whitby but then caught the bus back. The cottage itself is very clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. The highlight for us was the hot tub which was fantastic after a days walking. Plenty of good pub meals within a short drive also. We had good meals at the Hayburn Wyke and the Bryherstones and in Scarborough we had a lovely meal at Giannis but our favourite meal of the week was at AZ in Scarborough. This is a great base for anyone and you won’t be disappointed at Carters. Owners are on hand also if you need anything.

Cosy little cottage, couldn’t fault it other than I wish I’d stayed for the week instead of just 3 nights!

Hot tub is an added bonus. Some nice local walks & local pub (The Hayburn Wyke Inn) is only a 5 minute drive away. Highly recommend.

Close to Whitby and Scarborough, amazing walks to be discovered. Everyone was lovely and polite. Would come here again and recommend the cottage to everyone.

We arrived, early evening, during a wet November weekend.

The sat nav got us to the village and the emailed directions took us to the door. Having unpacked, reviewed our surroundings and chilled with a spot of tv (basic Sky). With only 2 rooms, with living room and kitchen as one, we sat on the very comfortable double recliner! The bedroom was a double pine bed. The built in heaters arent quite sufficient, but the additional electrical heater proved its worth and flexibility during the rest of the stay! Located approx 9 miles from Scarborough and 12 from Whitby, with the coastline to the east of the cottage, it was a good base to visit both locations. Our days consisted of a visit to either of the two areas, return to a couple of hours in the hot tub, which got this place our custom - absolutely delightful to look over the fields, in pouring rain, in a warm hot tub!!! Due to weather, there were a couple of places we decided not to visit, but there is good access to Goathland (famed by Heartbeat / Adensfield), Robin Hoods Bay, Bogle Hole and Falling Foss!! Overall, the break allowed us to recharge our batteries, muchly appreciated!!

Friendly owners and very helpful! Would have loved to have walked round the farm tho and was a bit difficult to find due to directions not listing the entrance sign! Will 1000% be back

Was a peaceful and enjoyable week.

The cottage was lovely and cozy. The owners were lovely. Was nice to go into the countryside and just relax and escape our normal day to day lives

This holiday was absolutely perfect - Carter's cottage is a gorgeous place, situated in a great location close-by to Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hood's Bay.

The cottage was lovely and clean, spacious and the bed was very comfy. Shower was nice and hot, facilities were all in perfect working order and décor was lovely. The sofa was a two seater recliner and very comfy. We were left some chocolates and milk by the owners. Sky TV was a bonus and some DVD's to watch. The hot tub was absolutely amazing and very relaxing, however it could have done with being more enclosed or covered because some nights were very windy and cold so we had to get out. The garden area is lovely and big with an amazing countryside view, however we didn't get to use it as it was windy and rainy. The cottage soon warmed up with the use of the electric heaters, however there was still a slight draft. We didn't meet the owners during our week stay but the people around the cottages were lovely and friendly. We had the best and most relaxing time and we would definitely return. Great value for money.

We had a fantastic weekend away and returned home totally relaxed

Lovely setting in a great location for getting to all the nice coastal towns such as Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby and Scarborough.

Comfy bed and sofa and the hot tub totally made the stay! Lovely view over the meadow from the hot tub was an added bonus. The kitchen needs a bit of update but other than that the whole place was lovely. Would definitely stay again.

The views around the cottage are lovely.

The hottub was a real treat to sit in and chill. The local pub was very handy for good food, The Falcon Inn. We booked the cottage for a break away and with the bank holiday weather it was just the job.

The area and surronding are just out of this world if u loveing walking there plenty to explore on the coastal cliff tops the veiws are so nice . the hotub was amiazing. And if u love the counrty side and star gaizing its perfect on a clear night i never seen so many stars . Plenty of local pubs and resturants around for food . I will be going bcak in the future x

We really enjoyed our self, nice and relaxing stay and felt very homely, we loved the hot tub!

!! Would certainly recommend, the only thing I can recommend is a gazebo or some kind of shelter for hot tub and more radiators in the cottage during winter as it was quite cold

Fabulous little cottage, perfect for a short break away from home.

There was a well equipped kitchen, the owners even left a little bottle of milk and some chocolates to get us started - thanks! The hot tub was lush - just what we needed after some long days out. The cottage is well positioned to explore the local area. We would stay again if we come back to the area for a holiday. Definitely recommend.

The cottage is so cute!

Really comfortable and it was so lovely coming home after our days of exploring to the hot tub and relaxing. The cottage was really clean and we were gifted a little box of chocolates. The location was remote but the area was so lovely, we liked the views when driving to and from. We loved it, and would 100% stay again.

The cottage was in the country side and was so peaceful with beautiful views , just what we needed as my husband has recently had surgery.

Loved the hot tub, and the hosts Ben and Wendy were lovely and welcoming and also left us some treats of chocolates and lovely hand made cookies and also a pint of milk so we could have a drink on arrival which we thought was a nice touch. Close to Whitby and Scarborough which we went to both places. The cottage was well equipped with all that we needed. Will definitely recommend and would like to think we will return back there in the future,thanks to Ben ,Wendy and also yourselves Sykes cottages.

Perfect holiday cottage to unwind, beautiful location and close to lots of places.

The cottage was so comfortable with everything we needed. Wendy and Ben were the perfect hosts, so friendly and helpful. A welcome card, prosecco and chocolates awaited us on arrival plus many essential items in the kitchen. An excellent few days altogether!
