Perfect house for us.

Walking distance to a lovely pub and the train station and bakery. Good walking around the village as well. Well kitted out, clean and comfortable

We had a fantastic stay at 7 Dale End!

The cottage was very spacious and comfortable - the beds were lovely! The kitchen had everything we needed and there was plenty of outdoor space to sit in the sunshine! Very peaceful and the perfect place for a relaxing getaway, we would highly recommend!

We had a lovely 4 nights at the cottage, really relaxing, the only issue we had was 2 doors up from the cottage the family seemed to leave their 2 big dogs out in the garden constantly, so everytime we walked past their property with our 2 dogs the ones in the garden flew at the fence barking constantly then stood there staring at us.

Luckily our 2 didn’t particularly react but it was rather disturbing! Don’t know if the family live there or were on holiday like us. Other than that I would recommend the cottage and Danby itself is a lovely picturesque village

Lovely cottage overall, nice big secure garden and really comfy beds.

We loved watching the rabbits and pheasants in the garden to the back of the property each morning. However, we did have quite a few cleanliness issues which we brought up with the owner of the cottage and also sent them pictures. It is something that they were aware of and hopefully will get sorted for future guests. Other than the cleanliness letting it down, we had a great stay with our 2 greyhounds.

The property was everything it said it would be. They even went above and beyond to accommodate our booking.

A nice, well equipped cottage in a great location for exploring the north york moors.

It was perfect for the two of us and a dog, but if the maximum 6 bodies were in there, it would have felt crowded, with only one bathroom. Minor issues with heating and alarms were dealt with promptly by the owner.

Clean to a high standard and equipment was all clean...only thing missing was a butter dish but we managed. I have already recommended to family and will return

Really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely house and very well equipped. In a delightful position. Lots of nice walks nearby and would definitely recommend the Fox and Hounds at Ainthorpe for lovely atmosphere and good food. A snow shovel or spade would be a good idea, as the day before we arrived there had been a heavy snowfall, and the path leading up to the house hadn’t been cleared. Fortunately we borrowed one from the next door neighbour.

Very comfortable and well equipped. Great base for exploring lovely local area. Owner was responsive to any requests or queries. Would be more than happy to stay here again if we were in the area.

This is a great property to explore the Danby and the Esk Valley.

Located a few hundred yards from the village pub, train station and bakery. The Danby visitor centre is a short walk away and we’ll worth a visit. Our main purpose for visiting was to attend a wedding at Danby Castle, which is a 5 minute drive away. We had a small hick-up on the first day of arrival but the owners jumped on this straight away and provided a solution in super quick time. We would recommend this property as great for kids and pets with off street parking.

Fantastic to be back at Dale End, the new front Patio is a brilliant upgrade and makes a fantastic space for the family to relax.

The property as always was very well equipped and comfortable in a fantastic quiet location. Owners are fantastic when it comes to communication and are always available to contact if needed. All in all it's a 5 star stay

This is a spacious house with beautiful views in a great location for exploring the North York Moors.

The property itself needs a little attention to bring it to five stars in our opinion. No wardrobe in two of the larger bedrooms - the main bedroom has plenty of space so not sure why one isn’t provided and for a week long stay it’s a pain not being able to hang your clothes up. We found an iron and board in the back bedroom, but the iron could do with replacing as it has seen better days. The bathroom is in need of a re-grout and a new loo brush but that said, the shower was powerful and there was always plenty of hot water. The garden is large but needs some work, particularly at the back. A parasol would have been a welcome addition at the front as there is a lovely new patio with large table and chairs and the garden catches the sun for most of the day. These are fairly minor niggles and certainly didn’t spoil our stay; on a positive note the beds were all very comfy and the kitchen is very well equipped with utensils and crockery/kitchenware. There is a small fridge in the kitchen and a larger fridge freezer plus washer/dryer in the utility which was great. A welcome pint of milk and delicious cake from the local bakery was waiting our arrival. All in all, we would definitely recommend this property, the area is fantastic with a great pub/restaurant in Ainthorpe (next village), the Danby Lodge National Park Centre within walking distance, a cafe/bakery and a health food shop in the village itself and lots to see and do nearby.

It was not clear on the listing that there was no phone signal.

Also been over charged extra clean fees when we left the property as it was. I have told the owner that the pillows have blood on and are dirty and no pillow protecters. we didnt realise this till stripping the beds. Also stain on king size duevet. The bathroom mirror has a crack in the wood at the bottom. There is start of mould in the double bedroom. There is white tap around the bath tap. So its nice to start with but when you realsie the little things. So ive been charged £100.00 for extra dog who is an assistance dog. Yet my son had slept in a room with mould in it and blood on the pillow and we checked out a day earlier. Dont use skyes. The house is ok but clearly needs lots of tender loving care and cleaners not doing Job propley.

A lovely place to stay very clean and comfortable would definitely recommend

Our grandparents live in this house up until 1975, after 50years we finally got the chance to see it again, it has been updated perfectly, had everything you want, clean, cozy and we were not disappointed, was so lovely to visit again, would definitely recommend

We stayed at Dale end for a week as our son was getting married at Danby castle.

The location of the cottage was perfect, set in a beautiful village, with amazing views. We especially loved the sheep right outside our window. The cottage itself was perfect. Very homely with everything we could possibly need inside. The beds were super comfy so we always had a great nights sleep. The cottage was lovely and clean on arrival. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.

The cottage was comfortable and spacious but some of the kitchen cupboards were dirty inside and some of the cookware and crockery needed cleaning prior to use, however this did not affect our enjoyment of the cottage and could be an oversight.

Parking was good but we did have issues with a blue car constantly parked partially blocking the gate. The property was in an excellent position for our needs with good walking from the door. We enjoyed the local pub which was very friendly and the Dales centre is a must to visit. We would certainly consider coming back to this property.

A great property!

Lovely and warm too! Loads of space for 3 couples. Clean and close to pub, bakery and the wedding we were attending at Danby Castle The house is super well equipped with lots of kitchen utensils and crockery. Great to have an outside tap to hose the dog down after a walk in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Locals in the pub were very friendly too! Would book again when next in the area.

the house was perfect, clean and had everything you could want for .

if the owners were wanting to add extra perfection in the future i would recommend a TV in the master bedroom, and also to put a downstairs toilet in the back room where the washing machine is then the house would be beyond prefect. we had a loverly stay and would like to say thank you jean keith and bella the dog.

Lovely comfortable and spacious accommodation in a very nice place.

The owners were very helpful in sending through information before we went and left a lovely cake and teabags for us to enjoy cake and a cuppa. Location, was great for many places if interest such as Whitby and Staithes and the moors. We would go again without doubt

7 Dale End is a lovely property with everything we needed for our holiday.

Always clean. Always comfortable.

The property could do with some TLC inside as there are a lot of scuff marks on the wall and a number of tears in the wallpaper.

I tried following the 'boost to heating' instructions for the towel rail as this was never warm/hot and therefore the bathroom was cold every morning - not fun having taken a shower. Came away a bit disappointed to be honest.

The Cottage is lovely, especially the kitchen and the beds are very clean and comfortable .

. The only minor issue we had was the fact that the Table and chairs in the back garden were really dirty .. They had obviously not been cleaned for a long time.. We wanted to sit outside cos the weather was nice.. So my husband had to go out with the mop and bucket and clean it up , chairs as well .. I would happily go back to stay there again.. The owner was very helpful and he messaged me before we went to say that he hoped we had a good time and to get in touch if we needed any help ..

7 Dale End was very comfortable and the kitchen was well supplied with essentials.

Danby is fairly peaceful and has a ‘getaway from it all” feel. We went out in the car everyday and enjoyed going to the coast, Skinningrove, Staiths and Runswick Bay are favourites of ours and so Danby is a good base and makes a nice change. The views from the back windows have nice scenery to the right. I did sit in the garden and read, not as peaceful as you would think but I did get a few quiet reading sessions in the garden. There are a few things I would like to mention but nothing spoiled our stay here and we had some good sleeps in the very comfortable beds. When we arrived at the house there was an overpowering smell of garlic in the doorway and when we went inside the smell was setting off the fire alarm and hurting our ears and making us feel sick so hubby had to cut back the wild garlic that was growing in the doorway, we were both heaving until we got rid of the smell, there is still some growing around the back of the house. Someone kept parking a blue Hyundai outside the gate halfway on the pavement, this was our only entry/exit making us have to lift larger items over the fence to and from our car and this was parked nearly all day everyday. Just a couple of points to mention but we really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend 7 Dale End.

The stay at Dale End was most enjoyable.

Everything was as advertised and fulfilled every expectation. The location is perfect for walking on and around the moors but also within reach of the coast. Danby is very picturesque and the local bakery is a must! I hope to return later in the year but this time with my wife in tow.

This is a delightful cottage in a lovely spot getting to local places of interest is easy but danby is nice and peaceful.

The cottage is comfortable and well equipped the garden was delightful our little dog enjoyed it very much. Definitely a place to revisit.

Excellent position in village centre and within easy reach of the Eskdale places of interest including Whitby.

The property itself had excellent facilities with the rooms all good sizes.

We had a lovely stay in Danby.

The house was brilliantly prepared for us, we found the guest book really helpful as we weren't sure what to do when we got there. Great recommendations for local things such as the bakery, which we made good use of, and walks (which our dog loved). We used the kitchen most nights because of how well equipped it was, and found the big telly and comfy sofa well needed after an adventure. The house makes a great base because of its distance to places like Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay, although the immediate surrounding area is also beautiful! We will definitely be staying again, and thank you so much for a great week!

Really lovely spacious property with great views and good location.

Quiet area which was great for a relaxing break. Recommend the bakery which can be seen from the upstairs window. Every facility we needed and more, freezer was very handy. Made use of the wood burner as we went in October and it made the house lovely and warm. The owner was on hand when we had a technical issue with the tv smart hub. Contacted us before we left home too which was a nice touch. I think the addition of a downstairs toilet would be a benefit to larger groups as the property does sleep 6. And for those with mobility issues.

It is very spacious, beautifully decorated and very well equipped. Danby is a lovely village and it is easy to get to the coast or further onto the moors. We will definitely be back, especially as it allowed us to visit our family whilst there. Super

There was nothing else we could have needed and so many options of places to go or see, nearby or just walking from the house itself. We'll definitely come back if we can

The house is really well equipped and very comfortable. It had everything we needed for a great stay, including plastic plates and cups for our toddler! Great location. Would definately recommend and would love to return for another break.

7 Dale End.

...Just perfect for us and our 2 dogs. So glad we managed to come a cross this gem. Set in Danby a lovely quiet moorland village with 2 great local pubs ,shop & Bakery close to lots of moorland walks & coastal areas by car. The Cottage is very well presented - clean tidy & warm on arrival.Furnished and decorated nicely throughout a mixture of country with a modern twist. Lovely large well stocked Kitchen /dinning area with plenty of pots, pans etc for those who wish cook has nice wood burner in it too had everything we needed.From the kitchen is access to a good size utility room which also has it own access from outside...this was a massive bonus for us with our 2 dogs...perfect for wet dogs to dry off and store boots and outside gear. The utility also had to dog beds in. Another added bonus was to the side of the property is an outside tap with hose handy for washing down muddy dogs,bikes and boots!!!washing machine, small counter freezer and boiler all in utility room. Living room isn't the biggest but lovely, cosy and comfortable Wood burner and smart TV perfect for winter nights in after a day exploring. 3 bedrooms1 bathroom upstairs. We slept in the master bed was massive and so comfortable and splendid views from the window. All bedrooms nicely presented- as was the bathroom. Fabulous garden to both front & Back of property....we loved it & so did our dogs!! We have a Lab & a J.Russell who were both secure in the garden and it is big enough for them to have a play around in..One of the best gardens compared to other properties we have stayed in pevious. Better than in the pictures!! Outside dinning area & lawn at the back perfect for the summer months. We have really enjoyed our stay at 7 Dale End so much so we plan to come back..the property met our needs and we have felt relaxed and comfortable thru out.Would definitely recommend. A couple of slight gripes but nothing major or enough to put us off returning would be bath towels are not very large would prefer later or take own. No Whisky tumbler / small size glasses .No personal welcome hamper like you get at some cottages...all that said it didn't effect of spoil our stay and not the end of the world!! Finally think it is always nice to have a guest handbook for guest to leave feed back for new guest and thank property owners we always enjoy reading previous guest comments first cottage we been too that hasn't had one!! Only issue we had was locating Guest handbook and property info folder not left in normal places you would expect took ages to find and had to ring owner for Wi-Fi code who was extremely helpful and asked if we we were happy and comfortable with the property...we did eventually we did find folder in a kitchen drawer !!! LOL.

This property is in an excellent location to explore the area.

You are within walking distance of a bakery, shop and 2 pubs both serving excellent food. A short drive away and you are on the coast with several beautiful bays, villages and the town of Whitby. There are numerous walks from the front door and within half an hour you can be at The Moors National Park Centre or alternatively high up on the Moors with spectacular views. The property itself is very comfortable and well equipped.

Had a lovely time in this gorgeous house.

Decorated beautifully. In a cosy little village. Only a couple of gripes- would be to have some wardrobes, we were a family of 5 and if we had been staying longer would have really struggled for storage space as had to live out the suitcase. 1 teeny wardrobe is not enough. Also mirrors, only 1 in the whole house a mirror in the bathroom would be very beneficial. Last but not least towels were a little on the small side so glad I took our own. You have a beautiful house, these added extras would make it a whole lot better. Thank you!
