Ryedale Country Lodges - Hazel Lodge

We had a great time only 1 problem no wardrobe to hang clothes.

The location was just right lots of places to see within a short distance we would definitely go back.

This property will not disappoint, it’s immaculate along with the grounds it stands in.

Steve and Tracy have put a lot of love into the 2 lodges( Hazel and Willow)and this is a beautiful location. Feels like you are miles from anywhere and yet a short 10 min stroll to the village centre where there is a great local butchers, bakers and pubs. There are numerous walks from the doorstep and a short drive to the amazing coastline that Yorkshire has to offer. We had deer, hedgehogs, rabbits, pheasant ,owls, bats and birds in the garden. The only thing to note is the garden is vast and not completely dog proof so would only recommend very well behaved dogs or take a long lead so that you can keep an eye on them. We stayed for 6 nights so didn’t need to wash clothes but also note the is no washing machine. This should not detract from a stunning lodge in a stunning location on the edge of the Yorkshire moors!! Superb lodge in a beautiful and peaceful setting.

The lodge was fantastic so clean and well decorated but felt comfortable, the welcome pack was lovely to get.

Everything you might need was at hand. The location was perfect peaceful and tranquil but close to the town centre and wildlife on your doorstep. I can't praise it enough and would recommend it to everyone. A fantastic base to travel from for the North Yorkshire Moors and so many places easy to visit.

The cabins were secluded, well spaced out and the grounds well maintained.

Inside the cabin was very clean & warm with a very nice welcoming pack waiting for us. The kitchen had everything we required, with a nice large fridge to store food and drinks. The dinning area had a large table that could be extended. There was sufficient seating for our party with a spare hard seat. Bedrooms: Clean, Tidy & warm with room to store clothes. We were warmly welcomed by Steve who gave us some good advice on the area. Red kites fly around the area, pheasants and partridge roam the grounds with the occasional deer. Thank you Tracy & Steve for a lovely break.

Fabulous Lodge in superb setting but we're biased as we've been here a number of times and booking again for next year.

Just back from a four night stay in Hazel Lodge First impressions are valuable and from the roadside gate onwards you can tell that the owners are very meticulous as the gardens and spaces are clean and tidy .

On entering the lodge everything is spotless and all as per the description and reviews by others . Very quiet area and loads of wildlife including Deer , Pheasant, Hare, Rabbits. Both Steve and Tracy are lovely people and they are efficient with any minor queries. It’s a great base to explore the villages and moors Many thanks to Sykes Steve and Tracy .

Top class in all aspects

This was our second holiday at the lodge because it is in a lovely location ideally placed for exploring Yorkshire, the dales and the coast.

The lodges are absolutely immaculate with everything you could want included. Owners Steve and Tracy were very welcoming and are on hand if needed. They also provided a very nice welcome pack which was much appreciated. Outside the lodge has parking available for several vehicles on the gravel drive. There is a large patio area with a table and chairs for al fresco dining as well as some recliners for relaxing with a glass of chilled Prosecco (provided in the welcome pack by the way). There is also a large grassed area around the lodge surrounded by woodland with loads of room for the young ones to play safely. Turning off the main road onto the steep gravel drive to the lodge can be a little awkward at first (I recommend keeping in first gear and driving to the right side of the drive on the way up to the lodge) but you soon get used to it. A short walk along the road there is a well kept adventure playground with a skate park to keep the kids busy.. The pleasant village has friendly pubs that serve meals if you would like to eat out also there is an excellent butchers, a bakery a Spa supermarket and of course the mandatory chinese takeaway. It really is a lovely place to stay and relax.

Right out of the top drawer,Tracey and Steve have created a little bit of magic in their superb development.

Wonderful country setting,peaceful surroundings but only 2 minutes into Kirkbymoorside, shops pubs restaurants..The lodges have been fitted out superbly,spotless,comfortable beds,settees,and sunbeds outdoors to relax.Plenty of space for kids to run about and hide in the trees..Ideally positioned to explore coast and countryside,can't better this.Charming hosts on hand with any problems Derek Newell

We have no complaints about the lodge.

The owners were very helpful and friendly. Hanging space for clothes was at a premium but we managed just fine. The situation was very special. We all enjoyed listening to and seeing some of a variety of bird species and I was lucky enough to see a deer and her fawn and a hare at close quarters. We enjoyed sitting outside till fairly late and just soaking up the peace and quiet. We just loved it!

We had a wonderful stay at Hazel Lodge, a truly beautiful lodge in a stunning location.

As a family of five, we had everything we needed. The lodge was spotless, the beds were really comfortable, and we felt at home straight away. A special thank you to the lovely owners for the thoughtful extras, Prosecco, cake, crisps, milk, tea and coffee, and fresh flowers were lovely to arrive to. The lodge has a huge wraparound garden surrounded by peaceful woodland, and we loved seeing all the wildlife, especially hares on the lawn in the mornings, woodpeckers and a variety of other birds. It’s also in a fantastic central spot for exploring North Yorkshire. We loved every minute and will definitely be back!

We had such a lovely and great weather too, Steve and Tracey were brilliant if there was any problems, they told us some lovely places for a bite to eat and lovely walks,The lodge was at its highest spec and lovely and comfortable and it’s in the right area for everything to see and do, we will definitely be back next year,

The lodge was lovely and in such beautiful surroundings with walks either into the countryside or down into Kirkbymoorside from the gate.

The quality of the furnishings, the kitchen appliances and equipment and the little extras left by the owners made it more like a home from home than ordinary holiday accommodation. Thoroughly recommend Rydale Country Lodges to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday.

What an amazing property!

Beautifully maintained and clean with even a few treats for us on arrival. The lodge is tucked away on a small wooded plot, but easily accessible to the main York to Scarborough road. It was the perfect base for us to explore the area. It was so peaceful and we really enjoyed being able to spend some family time together. Thank you!

Beautiful place despite the horrendous weather we enjoyed it .

Lovely situation lots of greenery despite being only a 10 minute walk from town. Only couple of gripes that can be easily rectified firstly extremely hot water from kitchen tap that scolded two members of our party, en suite bathroom fan not to good and vanity mirror light not working. Towels could be a bit nicer too . Very quiet and relaxing place my puppy loved it too .

A really fantastic lodge set in beautiful quiet countryside yet close to all amenities.

Beautiful quiet position in a countryfied wodland setting.

Pheasants, pea hens, squirrels and rabbits roaming the garden and an abundance of birds visiting the feeders and boxes in the trees. Lodge modern clean warm and inviting. Lovely setting to sit out on the patio. 10 minute walk to Kirby Moorside for shops, pubs and a top chippy. Locals friendly and welcoming. Great position for exploring the north yorkshire moors and surrounding areas.

Lovely property extremely clean and comfortable.

Extensive grounds, waking up to pheasants, hares and hedgehogs makes you feel really in the countryside, but only a short stroll into Kirkbymoorside where there's everything you should need! Thank you for a brilliant stay, humans and dogs really enjoyed themselves! There was only one slight niggle and that was temperature of hot water too hot, no problem with mixer taps, but single hot water tap in kitchen can catch you out sometimes and you end up with red fingers! We stayed in Hazel Lodge January 14th for part of a week.

The Lodge was spotlessly clean and was very well equipped. With a nice welcome pack of goodies. We happened to pick the week the snow came so we were unable to explore the area to it's full advantage. So we are definitely planning to return. Steve and Tracy were very helpful and friendly.

This was our second visit to Hazel Lodge and we have already booked it for our third holiday which surely says it all.

The lodge is in a lovely secluded setting surrounded by trees with everything we could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. The quality of the furnishings ensures comfort and relaxation in style, the extra touches supplied such as flowers, scrumptious chocolate cake and Prosecco was much appreciated, thank you Steve and Tracey. Everything was immaculate, cosy and toasty warm and that's why we'll be returning

Ideal for dogs. Lots of grassy areas to play and lovely walks nearby. Lots of wildlife too. The lodge was immaculate with a well thought out welcome pack. The owners are really friendly. We will definitely return for another holiday.

It was a great base for our many day trips to Scarborough, Whitby and Dalby Forest,etc. Steve was very friendly and helpful with great tips for places to visit and nearby pubs and restaurants to try.

A top quality stay at Hazel Lodge, hosts has the mosts, great welcome and amazing lodge, quiet and lots of space to walk and chill, everything in the lodge was perfect, all you need and comfy beds and brilliant showers, pet friendly area and perfect for visiting local attractions, Eden Camp was brilliant, thanks to the hosts, we'll be back

We had a lovely stay.

As birdwatchers it was ideally situated for the moors, the cabins location meant we could leave early without disturbing others and be on the moors in 10 minutes. The WiFi and television signals were poor or non-existent but that was not a problem. We would stay again if visiting the area.

The property was clean well presented and perfect for our stay.

The owners were very helpful but left us alone stressing if we needed anything to just ask. Lovely touches such as flowers , tea coffee and sugar were very welcome. Extras such as kitchen roll, foil etc were also very helpful and make a cottage stay easier. Perfect.

Hazel Lodge was spotlessly clean.

The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The area was beautiful, very quiet, with lots of wildlife to see. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. We would recommend this property and would love to return in the future. I give this property top marks.

Had a brilliant stay at hazel lodge , place was immaculately clean , Christmas tree had been put up in the corner of the room lovely touch.

everything you could need in the kitchen, sofas were very comfy , tv had a freesat box as well as a fire stick ideal for the freezing temperatures outside but inside lovely and cosy, Wi-Fi was fast and constant . big bed was very comfy , big walk in shower was lovely with loads of hot water. outside the owner steve has put up bird feeders which really attracts the wild birds . We had deer walking past and also hares running around plenty of squirrels and pheasants. I will be booking again for next year and would recommend to anyone who wants a very peaceful relaxing holiday. keep up the fantastic work steve and tracy 5 stars from adi and sue and Molly the dog

We had the most relaxing week at Hazel Lodge, a lovely home from home in a beautiful setting.

We couldn't fault anything at all, everything was perfect, comfortable and immaculate. The little extras that were supplied by the lovely owners, Steve and Tracey, i.e washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, hand wash, binbags, tinfoil etc not to mention tea, coffee, sugar and a Welcome pack of Prosecco, crisps, cake and milk and flowers in the window were a lovely touch We enjoyed ourselves so much here and in the superb surroundings, it was the quietest Bonfire Night we've ever experienced, no stressed out quivering dogs, so we have booked again for this time next year.

There is plenty of information on places to visit. We were very grateful for the lovely welcome pack and the flowers looked lovely in the window as we arrived. The lodge was amazing.

It looked new throughout, fantastic setting and fully stocked with everything we needed. We expected to take food but it was the little things that had been left that made a difference; dishwasher tablets, salt & pepper, tea, coffee, sugar, kitchen roll, tinfoil - we didn’t expect that. Also the additional touches with the welcome gifts; Prosecco, crisps and cake, milk in the fridge and flowers in the window. We loved the lodge, it was clean and new, it really was home from home and the setting was amazing.

Scrupulously clean and a very appreciated welcome pack - chocolate cake and a bottle of good Prosecco not forgetting the crisps. Owners Steve and Tracy perfect hosts and nothing too much trouble for them. Also very good for our dog walking into town which has everything you would want. I really enjoyed our stay with you.

The lodge was very clean and comfortable, with all the kitchen items we would need, available. It was also very and peaceful and quiet. We met the gentleman owner when we arrived. He was very welcoming and helpful, with lots of advice on places to go to etc. If we had one minor problem, it would be trying to work out which TV zapper to use to work the TV, but neither of us are terribly knowledgeable with TV equipment, but otherwise, everything was excellent.

I said how good the stay had been last time and the fact that we returned I don’t need to say more.

We really enjoyed kicking back on the sun loungers. Nice to be surrounded by nature with all the trees, great to see the deer and hare's chasing about. Plenty of walks from your doorstep with the dogs. We would highly recommend staying at Hazel Lodge.

We thought Hazel Lodge was an excellent holiday base, quite well equipped and in a peaceful location.

There are lots of places to visit and sights to see in the area and we particularly liked Helmsley. We shall go to this area again.

As a group, we could not fault Hazel Lodge in respect of accommodation, location and vista.

Access to other places, i.e. Pickering, Thirsk and Whitby, was not difficult. However, the property is very open, so much so, we had to keep our dogs on leads when outside. This meant they had no play area, which would have been handy.

This lodge was absolutely perfect!

We enjoyed our stay so much that we wished we could have stayed longer. We felt very looked after and safe during our stay there and it has everything you need. I have been to places before where we have had to take all our own things (I.e washing up liquid, washing sponge) but they had provided everything we could need plus a few little extras which were lovely! There is a co-op round the corner which was really handy and an outside BBQ (need own coals) which was just fantastic to have on a lovely sunny day. Plenty of pubs around which serve really excellent food and a good pint after a long walk. Everything was really clean and they had implemented covid 19 measures to ensure safety. All the furniture was comfy and it’s set in a lovely place, secluded from everything else where you feel you can just relax! Honestly, we couldn’t fault a single thing and can’t wait to go back!! This holiday was a last minute decision and a great one at that.

The owners left a welcome pack for us which included a cake, kettle chips and a bottle of prosecco. The lodge was immaculate and the kitchen was fully equipped, tea, coffee, sugar and milk was also provided for us. The only thing I would have liked as an addition would be a couple of throws on the sofas to cuddle up with at night. The area is lovely with lots of pretty villages, market towns and museums and castles to visit. The lodge and area are dog friendly too, lots of walks to go on in the North Yorkshire National Park. All in all a lovely 'staycation' a word we all need to get used to I think!

Absolutely beautiful accommodation, will definitely be recommending to friends and family, and will be returning ourselves, hopefully soon!

We had an amazing 3 weeks in this beautiful lodge.

Steve and Tracy the owners were terrific hosts and did a brilliant job despite being new to the letting game. We have stayed in many lodges but this was definitely our best one yet and the location is fantastic, especially waking up in the morning to see beautiful deer grazing outside the windows. Ideal for children and dogs as loads of safe space to run around. Just one thing was a problem and that is there was no washer/dryer, not a problem for a short stay but not ideal for a longer stay especially as we had two dogs which inevitably got dirty so we had several dog towels to wash by hand. However Steve the owner did say he was thinking about adding one in the future and also welcomes any other helpful suggestions. All in all we would highly recommend this lodge and will hopefully be able to return in the not too distant future.

Lovely area lovely cottage just short of a couple of things important to us.

No washing machine or dryer (dishwasher which we didn’t use ). No wardrobes in any bedroom which was a pain there was a wobbly hanger in one bedroom nothing else although the owner did get us another mobile hanger. Also nowhere in either shower to put soaps shampoos etc which when you get older you need also no non slip mats provided either .could also do with dog poo bin on site as noticed another dog owner in the next lodge with two dogs who did not pick up I had to myself but my wife did not want me to get involved with other people on this issue. Anyway we would return some time thanks again

We arrived just as owner was leaving.

He was welcoming and stressed that we should get in touch if we had any problems or suggestions to improve. I said as a personal preference as we had young family joining us a washing machine would be more use than a dishwasher. The owner said they were thinking of putting one in the adjoining outhouse. Another suggestion would be a rotary airer with pegs might be useful for families.Our son and his family arrived the day after and found no bathmat in their bathroom. I telephoned and left a message.A bathmat appeared the same day whilst we were out.The beds were really comfy and the towels soft and fluffy. The owners had thought of everything and a few extras I wasn't expecting like foil and clingfilm for cooking and picnics. Excellent!

The lodge was set in a lovely location ideal for anyone with dogs.

It was so clean and freshly decorated. Rooms very spacious beds lovely and soft. Would defiantly return.

The lodge was delightful.

It was very quiet and set in a lovely location. The facilities were outstanding and everything you needed was provided. It was a very comfortable lodge. On arrival the owners had provided a pint of milk and a box of goodies which was a very nice touch. We would definitely come back. Thank you for providing the ideal base for our holiday.

This log cabin was very well stocked and decorated. A delightful location in a wooded glade made waking up a real pleasure. We didn’t get around to using the barbecue because of the many cafes, restaurants and pubs in the area of good quality. Also lots of things to do and sights to see. We three grownups ( our daughter came too) came away revived and refreshed!
