    “Finally arrived at Grouse Cottage and was met by Tracy the owner and her husband, Patrick.”

    She ran through some details, and where to locate things. She left us a really tasty Lemon Drizzle Cake and plenty of tea bags and milk. Cottage was warm in the evening as it does turn chilly in the evenings now. Bed was comfy, clean with places to put your clothes away. Very good shower. There is a small integrated dishwasher, we didn't use. The electric oven and hob once we were shown how to use, we have gas back home, was very good and again everything was clean. If I had to pick I criticism ...

Low Hagg Farm Cottages

Kirkbymoorside 1.5 miles. Low Hagg Farm is situated in a tranquil position amongst open countryside, just 1.5 miles from the lovely old market town of Kirkbymoorside. The sympathetic conversion of old stone farm buildings has resulted in three holiday cottages of country charm, character and comfort. Situated around a courtyard, the properties exude quality with exposed stonework, oak flooring and timber beams complemented by airy shaker-style kitchens and underfloor heating. One property has been designed for wheelchair access and two of the cottages offer all ground floor accommodation, which may be suitable for guests with limited mobility, making them a great choice for a holiday with the whole family. KIRKBYMOORSIDE

Pickering 6 miles; Helmsley 5 miles.

The attractive old market town of Kirkbymoorside lies on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, in between the towns of Helmsley and Pickering. It is a charming place, full of Yorkshire character, and is the centre for the local farms and villages. Visitors will find a variety of shops from tea rooms, pubs and restaurants to antique shops, while there is a market day on Wednesday. The excellent walking and magnificent scenery of the National Park are close by, as are the picturesque villages of Hutton-le-Hole and Lastingham. Pickering is the base of the North York Moors Steam Railway - a ‘must do’ day out for all visitors to the area. Castle Howard, York, Whitby and the Yorkshire Coast are within easy driving distance.
