    “The Cowshed was as good as l expected.”

    The photographs and description were accurate. The pool, open 9-5, was lovely, warm and clean. A huge bonus for an out of season break. We enjoyed watching the pygmy goats from the kitchen window. There are no facilities within walking distance of the property but plenty to do locally if you don't mind driving. We ate excellent steak pie at the Fleece, Rillington. A traditional local pub about 3 miles away. A bit more cutlery would have been useful but generally the kitchen was well ...

Rillington is a small village and civil parish located on the A64 road in North Yorkshire, with easy links to the historical city of York and the bustling coastal town of Scarborough. Rillington was mentioned in the 1086 Domesday Survey and is now home to a Post Office, two pubs, The Coach and Horses and The Fleece, and a church. The rural community was developed many years ago due to the presence of fertile soil and the village is still home to an active farming community.
