“The house at Bewholme provides the ideal base for a get together of three generations.”

It was our second visit. The indoor and outdoor space are perfect for young children and the swings, Wendy house, slides and go karts were enjoyed by all. It’s easy to travel to Bempton Cliffs to see the gannets, Flamborough Head to see seals, Sewerby Hall to watch the penguins being fed in the zoo there, and enjoy the beach at Fraisthorpe. Thank you as well for the welcome pack with goodies to enjoy.

“What a wonderful holiday we had at Bewholme.”

The house was spacious and clean. The games room was so much fun. The garden was amazing. It was such a peaceful location. We were so lucky to watch some stunning sunsets and see hares and wild deer in the fields opposite the house. Such a great place for a family holiday and making wonderful memories. I would not hesitate in booking this house again.

Very quiet and peaceful . Games room was great . Only down side was some of the outside is starting to look run down ! Never stopped us having a fab holiday . Would definitely recommend bewholme .

Our only slightly negative comment would be that there was not enough cutlery for a large group, other than that we were very happy with everything.

“Very cold when we got in had to ask the owner to put the heating on.”

The outside space not the cleanest, pots with weeds growing and an old frame and water feature left outside also the hammock not fit for purpose and the hot tub worked on the first day then wouldn’t heat up on the second day and not all the jets were working. The sink in one of the bathrooms leaked as the pipe had come away underneath. Plus side Kitchen plenty of space and well equipped the rooms all good sizes for larger families and we took 2 dogs who had plenty of room to roam. Children enjoyed the table tennis and the go karts left out for us very kind of the owner to leave us a bottle of wine and some biscuits.

Hi Karen. thank you for your review. im sorry about the the leak. if you'd let us know i would of sent some up to repair it. it was my fault about the heating.. we turn everything off now when we don't have guests because of the price of the heating oil. The hotbub goes into sleep mode. I wish you'd had contacted me you just need to press a button on it. glad you still enjoyed the space and had a good break away xx Property Owner

“This is a great house for a large family gathering!”

We had grandparents to toddlers together for a family long weekend. There was so much space with two living rooms, a huge games room, great outdoor space and got tub. There is loads of bathrooms and bedrooms are large. House had everything we needed with lots of fridge space and all cooking equipment. House was lovely and warm when we got there but some rooms were chilly in the night. Would definitely recommend.

Large roomy property , well equipped and very comfortable. Plenty of stuff to amuse the children outside and in the playroom/ games room. Hot tub was well used. Could not fault it. Will visit again sometime.

“House was fantastic, exactly what we wanted.”

there was 9 of us, but plenty of room to spread out, or stay all together. Hot tub was lovely on cold evenings in December, and games room was great and well used. We taken some cooking utensils to ensure we had what we needed, but we needn’t have as the house was so well equipped, large oven / hob, alots of pans, air fryer and microwave. We had a fab time.

The owner was fantastic, left some welcoming gifts for our arrival and unevenness with Sykes when needed when there was issues with the booking, where sykes weren't particularly helpful. There was absolutely everything needed in the property.

“What a lovely retreat , in the most beautiful setting.”

A lovely stroll from the village where you can call for a pint and a short drive from the coast. The property is huge, well equipt and a pleasure to visit. The host communication was excellent. The games room was a real treat for us with our grown up family , the hot tub was excellent. Well worth the money . There was even a welcome basket, thank you . We would definitely return

It was immaculately clean(Many Thanks Kelly) Beds comfortable, Bed Linen soft. Enough spaces to; Eat, Experirnce Quiet, Participate in the fun. Speaking of fun, the children had a whale of a time outdoors.Big Wendy House, Safe trampoline, Swing, Tree House, Plenty of garden left for cricket. Adults enjoyed the bar games. Well worth visiting. Bewholme has everything including being set amongst nature. We highly recommend

“Bewholme is a lovely spacious house with a large garden and brilliant games room.”

There were ten of us ranging in age from 10 to 70. We stayed in August and so made a lot of use of the outside space where there was plenty of seating and a large hot tub. The kitchen was well equipped, including air fryer, slow cooker and three fridges, one of which was a large American style fridge freezer. A nice touch was a small hamper which was waiting for us. The owner was very responsive and friendly. The house itself is situated on a small country road with hardly any traffic and wonderful views.

“The house and garden provide a great space for an extended family get together.”

Our group included six children under 7 and they loved the Wendy house, swings, slides and trampoline. Mattresses were very comfortable and kitchen was well equipped with all you need. The kettle could probably be replaced and we bought oven gloves (which we left there for others). Overall, it was the perfect base for relaxing and exploring the local sandy beaches. Gannets at Bempton cliffs were amazing!

“Beautiful house with so much room!”

and perfect relaxing and tranquil location. We have just enjoyed a fabulous week here, 7 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. The garden is wonderful, lots of space for the children and dogs to run around in and also toys and playground furniture, not forgetting the hot tub! Rooms very spacious. The only negative I can mention is the lack of hand towels, could do with a hand towel per person but unfortunately we couldn't find any and so had to buy some. Not a huge thing but just thought worth a mention. As I have said, on the whole a fabulous week and would definitely book again.

“There was 12 of us who stayed here for a week, a mix of adults and children along with 2 dogs.”

The home was absolutely beautiful and just what we needed, a home away from home with everything you could think of and more. The hosts were efficient with communication and the welcome hamper was a lovely touch and much appreciated. The only thing I’d maybe suggest is a Bluetooth speaker in the games room, but this is more a personal preference than a “need”. Overall it was a wonderful stay and we hope to return next summer.

“The accommodation was adequate but needs an update in decor, comfort, and facilities.”

The games room is pretty bad with broken snooker cues, ragged table tennis net and NO decor just broken brickwork and bare walls. Beds need changing, very hard and uncomfortable. Well equiped kitchen and nice hot tub.

I will get this replaced. unfortunately with a holiday let, something people don't look after things. the games was a outdoor garage, we will be updating this again after out busy period.. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need, we were able to make a Christmas feast with no problem! Lovely, warm, comfortable bedrooms. Plenty of space for anyone needing time out. We all loved the christmas tree, log fires, dinning table, and the hot tub! Denise was very responsive both before and during our stay. Would definitely return

“We stayed for 7 nights from 6th September 2024 and had a lovely time.”

There were 7 adults, 2 kids and an infant from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th. There is enough room for everyone and something to do for all ages. The children particularly loved the ride on cars and space in the garden. The adults of course the hot tub and games barn. Tub was at 40 degrees for the whole week but could have done with a shot of chlorine half way through the week. (I brought my own). Beds were so comfortable and all bedrooms spacious with enough storage. Enough bathrooms for all and the kitchen very well stocked and plenty of fridges and freezers for a large self catering family. Lots of towels and facilities to wash and dry if needed. Only suggestion would be a few family friendly board games for the changeable weather but overall everyone had a fantastic stay and didn't want to leave. Denise the owner was always available by text for any queries. Very reasonable price for the facilities available and enough room for 3 or 4 cars parked securely. Thank you and we will be back!

“Bewholme was perfect for our family holiday.”

We had 4 children in our party from 4 to 8 years old and the garden proved a magical adventure. There were lots of toys, swings and vehicles to keep them occupied with a pool table and hot tub for the adults. This was important to us as the house is very remote and a long walk from a shop or pub. The house was big, spacious and comfortable with good quality furnishings, beds, towels etc. and a variety of channels on the big tv's downstairs. Also ample parking for our 5 cars. We would highly recommend this property for a remote family gathering, it was perfect for us.

The owner Denise kept us well informed. We are a family of 8 and the house had enough beds and sitting rooms so that we were never on top of each other. The barn area with roof covering was the best we’ve experienced at this price level. We felt it was perfect value for us. We are 100% staying here again

SKIPSEA

Hornsea 6 miles; Bridlington 9 miles; Driffield 11 miles; Beverley 15 miles.

Situated 10 miles south of Bridlington and 6 miles north of Hornsea, the vlllage of Skipsea sits in a typically rural setting surrounded by rich, agricultural land, yet also rests within one mile of the beach and is close to the cliffs of the North Sea. The village has its own Post Office and general store, a hairdresser’s and a pub. Many of the houses in the village, both old and new, use cobbles from the sea shore in the building. Just outside the village are the remains of Skipsea Castle. The surrounding countryside is excellent for walking and cycling, whilst the nearby seaside towns of Bridlington and Filey boast long sandy beaches and numerous resort attractions. The Deep Submarium at Hull, Sledmere House and Burton Constable Hall are within 20 miles, whilst the shops, cathedral and museum of historic York, the resort town of Scarborough and the North Yorks Moors Steam Railway at Pickering are within an hour’s drive, and Whitby is just a little further, making Skipsea a superb base for a relaxing holiday.
