“This is the 4th time we have stayed at the cow shed, we love the location and the view across the flower meadows and fields to the sea.”

The accommodation is great , we did have to de- ice the freezer to open the draws this time so would benefit a defrost , but that's no big deal . We love the place and will definitely be back again and again . We also appreciated the ginger cake and bottle of wine left out for us . Thank you

“Beautiful property very nicely presented and very comfortable to spend time in.”

Convenient for both Whitby and Robin Hood bay which was what I wanted. I think not providing towels is not great as when you pay for quality accommodation you expect towels to be included as standard and do t always read the small print It would also be useful to have some information about local paths / walks in the booklet - is there a path the the local pub for example as the road it too busy to walk on so information given was basic as was the “ welcome” gift All in all a lovely place and time just a couple of things which would make it even better

“A lovely converted building full of character and perfectly located for visiting North Yorkshire.”

The garden is a wonderful sun trap and perfect for sitting watching the sun rise or set . It is perfect for two people for a week but if you are a party of four I think it might be a bit of a squash but ok for a short break. Visitors need to take their own large towels ( as per web site ) and I would say take a couple of extra hand towels ( only 1 supplied ) . For info, If you have a dog the two adjoining meadows are perfect for exercising them . I can highly recommend the Cowshed .

This is nothing like described on Skye’s The property was dirty Everything covered in dust Never been cleaned old crisps and dust under beds Cobwebs on kitchen utensils I paid a lot of money for weeks holiday to stay in the place which was advertised as being clean and apparently won an award Skye’s you really need to update you’re website regarding this property It’s not fit for purpose

“This is the 2nd time we have stayed here as its a fantastic location, close too everywhere you want to go .”

The outside space is also excellent for the dog and kids to play . Accommodation is adequate for a week . Only downside being a couch that is too deep to allow you to sit comfortably, the cow shed has new ownership hopefully they will do something about this as I had to sit up in bed to read a book rather than use the lounge. Not being able to sit comfortably in the evenings is a must especially us over 50s.

“Great spot just 5 mins from Robin Hood bay and 10 mins into Whitby.”

The cowshed is petite and rustic, in a great way! All essentials you need, access to 2 large fields which our boys loved (aged 7 and 9), and our dog. We were blessed with sunny weather all week so ate outside every day, I’d expect it to feel a little cramped if you had to cook and eat inside every day, but certainly manageable. Bedding, toilet, living area were all clean and well kept. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet base to explore the area.

“The only negative was the outside rattan garden furniture it was in really bad condition, holes in it and the cushions were not good, but on the afternoon before we left it was replaced, pity it was so late in our stay, apart from that everything else was wonderful.”

“We stayed in The Cow Shed 2-9 May 2025, the most amazing place and the perfect place for relaxing, peace and outstanding views.”

The Cow Shed itself combines old with modern facilities such as heating and general items provided. The 2 enclosed fields were perfect for our dogs. Although wonderfully private, just a short drive to Whitby, other lovely destinations and local to all sorts of restaurants and take aways. The owners provided a detailed guide book on everything that we needed to know and visit. I can only give positive feedback regarding this most beautiful accommodation, it’s simply perfect and so well looked after and impeccably decorated. We look forward to visiting again. “We have enjoyed our stay at the Cowshed.”

It has many interesting features. The kitchen is well equipped, the bed very comfortable. Lovely views overlooking Whitby and excellent parking. Though very dog friendly we couldn't open the doors without tying our dogs up as they could access the road. We could walk them in the adjacent fields though.

“Lovely rustic cottage, very clean and comfortable.”

Dog friendly and you have access to a padlock and small field. The cinder track (old railway line Whitby to Rogin Hood's Bay) is a 5 min drive to Hawsker - good clean walking. Note: Only hand towels provided, you need to bring bath towels. We only spotted this the day before our holiday.
