“The house was very well situated for visiting York centre, in an attractive local area with local shops, pubs and restaurants and a good park and play area nearby.”
The house was quirky and cozy, even with the many stairs.
The only negative experience, which somehow spoiled our visit, was when we were leaving the property. We were taking the last few items out of the house maybe 2 - 3 minutes after 10 am (check out time). Our cases were already outside on the path. The only negative experience, which somehow spoiled our visit, was when we were leaving the property. We were taking the last few items out of the house maybe 2 - 3 minutes after 10 am (check out time). Our cases were already outside on the path. We were met by one of the owners of the house who was clearly annoyed that we were still on the property after 10 am. In fact we felt very much in the way and we were not asked at all about our stay, which we felt was inappropriate considering that we were paying costumers. No even "a safe journey" was uttered as we left. Our very short delay in leaving the property was perhaps due to the fact that we were travelling with two small children!
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the house, found it cosy, and appreciated its location for exploring York.
We're sorry that your departure left you with a negative impression. We certainly didn't intend to make you feel rushed or unwelcome. Due to the parking restrictions outside the property, we have to unload our car quickly, collect the rubbish and laundry, and then move the vehicle to a designated parking area before returning to begin the changeover. As it was also a same-day turnaround, there is a limited amount of time to prepare the house for our next guests, which can be challenging when working alone.
I did have a conversation with your wife during your departure, and she told me that you had both had a lovely stay and had found the house cosy. As we'd already discussed your experience, I didn't think to ask again, but I can understand how this may have come across differently, and if my manner seemed abrupt, I sincerely apologise. It was certainly not my intention.
Thank you again for your feedback. We genuinely appreciate it and will take your comments on board to ensure future departures feel more relaxed for our guests.
