A perfect place to stay for 2 people.

A lovely comfortable and cute little property.

Far away from hustle and bustle. But with a car close enough to all amenities, including a 5 minute drive to the beautiful Town of Whitby. The view from property was stunning looking across to Whitby Town, harbour and the Whitby Abbey. The owners made us feel very comfortable, and left us to our lovely time away.

Lovely little cottage short car ride from Whitby and Robin Hoods bay.

We were greeted by Faye the owner the on arrival and shown around. The kitchen area is small but adequate for catering for two. The sofa in the sitting area is larger than it appears in photos and comfortable. The bedroom has a wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables and the bed is super comfortable, We had really good nights sleep here. Away from the bustle of Whitby the cottage is peaceful and free parking is a bonus. We would recommend for couples looking for a relaxing break. Thanks to Faye for being a lovely host.

Well upon arrival was greeted by Kay the owner who was pleasant, and showed us the cottage which was a little underwhelming as it wasn't quite like the picture on the website.

We expected quite a long building, turns out that part of it was a check in office. There was a small fence panel that you had to drag across to get in to a very very tiny seating area but you couldn't sit there as there were so many fly's. Being on a farm I suppose, when entering the cottage seemed quite nice but very small. And we were very disappointed that the basics things like loo rolls and not even a bottle of milk to make a brew after a long drive. The last thing I wanted to do was drive to the nearest supermarket to get essentials.the paddock was ok but not mowed and we had to be careful as there's a mound at the bottom that apet could easily escape from. And then there was the moors fires now I know that the owner isn't to blame but I rang to say we had to leave early as the fire brigade were on the farm warning us about the possibility of it spreading in our direction but not even a reply we tried to find her before we left but she was nowhere to be seen so we left as I was suffering with the smoke. I tried to get a partial refund as we only stayed 2 nights and not the 4 as planned but they said they were waiting for the owner to get back well I'm sure they have had plenty of time to get in touch . overall very disappointed with our little break very very costly for the time we had and we will not be returning...

The cottage was so cosy and warm, very well equipped, we had everything we needed.

It was so central to everywhere we wanted to visit, eg Robin hoods bay, Whitby etc . The owners were lovely too. The enclosed dog walking field was handy. We would be happy to go again.

Lovely quiet location, nice views, within easy reach of Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby and a good pub nearby.. With the bonus of a dedicated dog field and plenty of nice walks we really couldn't have asked for more. The owner Alex was more than helpful with local information and recommendations for places to eat. We'd like to return and have already recommended to friends

When I rang the owner for access information I had to leave two voicemails before they rang me back to tell me there would be there to let me in.

Strange set up but it made sense when I arrived as there is a reception and bell for the camp site. I didn’t realise from the photos this was a site for camping too. The owners, Alex and Kay are very friendly and live literally next door. The area outside the cottage is not private at all and they have to walk through the area to access their property which set my dog off barking and then their dogs. The cottage is next to a dairy farm with a friendly farmer who gave me lots of great tips for dog walks locally (the owners of the cottage went away for 4 days and he assumed I was looking after their establishment!) The cottage is ideally located for all the popular places on the Yorkshire coast and the pub is about 1.5 miles away. The views are great from the local fields. The enclosed dog field is very useful indeed. The cottage is basic with everything one needs however it’s a little tired. The duvet cover poppers were broken, the kitchen equipment minimal and no sieve so when I made pasta I had nothing to drain it through. There is no extractor fan as the cooker is old fashioned. This means opening the windows and lots of flies coming in. The kitchen drawers need attention as does the front door as they stick. The door between the living area doesn’t close properly so I had to wedge it with a chair to stop my dog coming in at 0400 when it gets light to wake me up. The cottage would benefit from a small bin in the bathroom for stuff you can’t put down the toilet

Great location, views lovely but quite remote.

Dog field a brilliant idea. Note that the 'mile' to the pub (in Fylingthorpe, good food and well worth a visit) and shop is quite steep, not a simple stroll. Nice place but facilities a little limited.

Brilliant location and base for visiting the local area.

Doors and kitchen drawers could do with some maintenance. The photo of the garden with picnic bench and seating is very misleading. The owner said they’ve not been there for ages and have been trying to get the photo removed. Email regarding key collection also misleading as it says people arriving on a Friday should arrive after 5pm. We risked getting there just after 3 and were ok. Very friendly owners. We really enjoyed our stay.

Cosy little cottage with all the comforts of home.

It was closer to Whitby and Robin hood's Bay than we thought. Also there is a field especially for dogs to run arround in so our little girl absolutly loved zooming arround. Thank you for the lovely stay.

The cottage has everything you need it was very clean, cosy, warm and plenty of hot water.

It’s set on a working farm but there was no disruptions. Nice field for dogs to run in all fenced off. It’s in a good place for travelling to different locations in the area and supermarkets just down the road.

This is the second time we have been to abbey view cottage and we will be booking again the next time we go to Whitby.

It has everything we need,it is very clean and comfortable well equipped for two people .Just four miles from Whitby there are two supermarkets down the road .if you have a dog there is a small paddock for it to run in off the lead

Lovely little cottage. Comfortable, everything you need for a stay. And since above photo, they have some planters with tall plants that give private little sitting area.

A lucky last minute booking, but checked in super easily.

Very comfortable, clean and homely. Well placed for exploring the area. Great, enclosed dog field just behind the cottage as well as walks along the lane to public footpaths & bridleways. Hope to stay here again.

Nice cottage and good location.

We had everything we needed. Dog friendly and peaceful. We walked into Robin Hood's Bay, hiked over North York Moors and explored the beautiful coastline then relaxed in our cosy cottage. A really great holiday!

Enjoyed our stay as a base for walking the Cleveland Way coast and playing some golf.

There was plenty of room for two in the bedroom and lounge/dining area. The kitchen although well equipped is a little small for two at the same time! We were somewhat disappointed with the views from inside the property. We wrongly assumed we would have an open view. As we didn’t spend a lot of time at the property this wasn’t much of an issue.

The owners were very helpful and attended to all our needs in a flash,including re- charging car battery when car lights had been left on over night.

The cottage was every thing that one needed for a lovely holiday break.

Nice cottage for a couple or one man and his dog like me.

Ideally placed for all the great North Yorks towns and villages. Only one disappointment was the absence of the lovely seat and picnic bench that are in the photos as I was looking forward to enjoying a coffee or glass of wine on them.

We had the most amazing 3 days at the cottage with our two dogs, to celebrate our anniversary.

A perfect location for getting out and about. Walking distance to Robin Hoods Bay, short drive to Whitby and close to Scarborough. Clean, cosy and just perfect for what we wanted. Looking forward to a return visit next year!

Only stayed 3days that was enough there were people there with dogs barking everytime you opened the door not even a bottle of milk on arrival to make a drink of tea

Second time we’ve stayed at Abbey view farm and we really like the quietness of the location.

The cottages have everything you need for a lovely stay. However central heating wasn’t always available to click on at the thermostat during the cold season.

An excellent base for the Coast and the Dales. We experienced some beautiful skies whilst we were there and despite the strong winds the cottage was cosy and warm.

It was well equipped, warm and very cosy. There is an enclosed area apart from the house for dogs to use. It is an easy short drive to Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby. Ideal, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

A delightful little cottage with fabulous views.

A good location for touring the area. Had everything I needed. The only downside was the door lock. It took me a while to figure out that you have to push the door against the frame. Several times I thought I was either locked in or out. Possibly a new fridge/freezer with the fridge at the top?

Perfect location in between Whitby and Robin Hood Bay.

Perfect for my dog as he had his own paddock. Watching sunrise over the bay from the cottage was beautiful. Would definitely recommend this lovely, clean, well equipped cottage. ( amazing comfortable kingsize bed too !!! )

Beautiful property in a perfect location for exploring the area.

Perfectly serene with wonderful views (on a clear day!). Property is very comfortable with everything you could need. We will definitely be returning.

The cottage was very comfortable and cosy with a well equipped kitchen.

Overslept a number of times because the bed was so comfy! It is a great base to investigate the area from and we look forward to going back next year. The owners are very friendly and they ensured the grass in the dog paddock was kept short and the poo bin was changed regularly as were the dustbins.

disappointed that the cottage was advertised for arrivals from 3pm but when we received key details there was a little note at the end of the very long email to say it would be after 5pm.

I do think if 3pm is advertised and that is one of the reasons I chose this cottage it should be adhered to. Faulty wardrobe door which came off hinges and hit me in face just below the eye, please ensure this is fixed by owner. did not see owner, no one checked all was ok which was unusual.

Simply and tastefully decorated and well equipped ,comfortable bed and settee .Heating , tv selection and wi fi excellent. The surroundings are beautiful , lots of places to visit but a peaceful and restful place to relax .

Our 3-night stay in Abbey View Cottage exceeded our expectations.

It had recently been redecorated and had an excellent new shower installed, so it was even better than the Sykes description. Also, the bed was the comfiest I have ever slept in!

Great little cottage, very warm and cosy, nice scenery and very quiet and relaxed.

Has everything that you need including iron/ironing board and hairdryer. Had a really good 4 nights and will definately be back and recommend to friends and family.

We had a lovely week at the cottage, we went to celebrate my 60th birthday.

The cottage is very well equipped with everything needed. Its very warm, cosy, comfortable, well maintained and clean. The mattress and topper are of really good quality and very comfy. We had a lot of snow whilst there and didn't need the heating on above 20, it must have really good insulation. Our 14 year old dog enjoyed the snow and private dog area. The views are stunning. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Lovely warm little cottage with all the comforts you need, just what we were looking for. Although it's only a mile away from the nearest pub and shops access is via a single lane track with no lighting, so if you meet someone coming the other way you could have a bit of a problem! so we only ventured out during daylight! which suited us anyway.

Lovely cosy cottage ideal location

Abbey view was just what we wanted, quiet and in the countryside.

we found the cottage immaculate well equipped for our needs and comfortable .The bed was kingsize which was comfy and warm and there was plenty of room to put your clothes . As it is on a farm there are no street lights so the night light in the kitchen is a very good idea to give some light if you need the toilet at night . Abbey view will be our first choice when we go back to Whitby .

Nice to have off road parking. Excellent fenced grassed area for dogs to run around (shame everyone didn't clean up after their dog though). Surprised there was no mention of recycling facilities in the cottage. Comfy bed enabling a good nights sleep.

What a lovely little cottage.

Has all you need to explore the area. The cottage is comfy and well equipped. Lots of local walks to do with the dog and the paddock area for the dogs was great to let Ruby run after her ball. Owners are very friendly and welcoming. Will be back as we still have more to do.

Also,very dog friendly. There's a dog walking enclosure with poo bin available, which is handy or you can take a stroll up the relatively quiet lanes and footpaths on the doorstep. The cottage was well equipped and cosy. Had everything we needed and was very comfortable. In the record breaking temperatures it kept cool which was good.

Our 2nd stay at this ideal little cottage, remote enough to enjoy peace and tranquility, but still close to visit Whitby and the surrounding seascapes.

Lovely little cottage, purfect for my husband, myself and honey the dog, owners have really made sure even dogs are thought about providing a fenced off dog exercise area.

Abbey Cottage was ideal for our 3 night stay; cosy, comfortable and an excellent base to tour the coast and inland areas.

We were welcomed on arrival by the owner who provided an overview of the well equipped accommodation. Good views looking out over towards Whitby with the cottage set within a rural and quiet location. We would recommend a bathroom refresh as it felt a little tired in its decoration, but it provided an adequate / hot shower as well as the other amenities.

We stayed in the cottage from 13th Dec to the 18th Dec and found it absolutely perfect for us.

Lovely and cosy and spotlessly clean. The owner was very friendly and helpful, but in the main we were just left to come and go as we pleased. I would definitely recommend this property and would love to stay there in future.

We had a great stay, from the warm welcome when we arrived to the ease of checkout, the whole experience was great, The pictures on the website don't do the property justice, as a few updates to the facilities have been made since they were put on.

The kitchen has been updated and the furniture changed. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable. It was just the right size for the two of us and an energetic springer spaniel. Good location for exploring the east coast, Easy to find and easy access to the main roads to travel around the area. Would highly recommend this cottage for a well deserved break.

The location of Abbey veiw is ideal , in the middle of nowhere but not far away from it all , the cottage was warm ,clean and dog friendly, ideal for our stay , the owners met us with the keys and very approachable and freindly , the veiws were lovely and the dog feild was kept clean with cut grass .

Very well equipped cosy two person cottage in a rural setting.

Very friendly owners. Our only comment is that the fron tdoor faces onto a concrete yard with the small grass sitting out area on the other side of the building. A bit more outdoor furniture would be good. We really enjoyed our stay at Abbey View Cottage. The combination of coastal paths with moorland walks and plenty of good places to eat in Robin Hoods Bay and nearby Whitby was ideal.

It’s location is really good. In a very quiet rural location, and yet close enough to all amenities. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable. With everything you need for your stay. The owners are really friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and hope that we can return again very soon.

Cottage perfect for the two adults and two dogs we booked for - clean and tidy on arrival. Big rooms for a one bed cottage which was nice in the evening, everything we needed in kitchen. Owners around but not intrusive, we needed help with the DVD player; they could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended.

Not at all dog friendly.

Garden detached from the property, across an access track. One corner of this garden had what appeared to be rotting farm waste. Upon opening the curtains in the mornings we were met with a view across the courtyard that was covered in dog poo from the owners' dogs. Nice large bedroom but windows had some damp and mould issues.

Abbey View Cottage was a brilliant place for our short break with our Springer Spaniel, Benji.

It was very clean & cosy and a great place for getting around all the fantastic places to see in the area. The owners were very friendly & welcoming & gave us local info. The alpacas in the field adjoining the paddock were also friendly !! I would thoroughly recommend Abbey View Cottage - 10/10.

First time we had taken a cottage over Christmas so a little apprehensive.

When we arrived we discovered the cottage had a Christmas tree and all the trees in the garden were lit up. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay would definitely recommend it.

Lovely cosy cottage perfect for 2 (plus 2 small dogs).

Nice location away from it all, yet close to main road to Whitby. It has been a particularly wet autumn, so the dog field was a little soggy but nicely enclosed to allow for early morning and late evening toilet breaks.

On arrival we were made very welcome by the owner and shown around the cottage.

The cottage was very cosy and had everything we needed. As the evenings we’re getting chillier plenty of heating was provided. The views from outside the cottage were spectacular looking over Whitby Bay, the Abbey and the sea. The neighbouring farm added to the backdrop. It was situated well for exploring the coast and the moors. Would recommend this cottage.

This cottage is a lovely cosy little cottage The big disappointment for us was the fact that it had no private outside space to sit out , the garden was right opposite the caravan and camping park, so it was really overlooked

as my wife is disabled it would have been helpful to know that there was a step from the lounge to the bedroom

A delightful cottage but with a few limitations.

If you're an internet junkie no wi fi. Quirky plumbing could be off putting for some ( first time I've seen backfill in the loo when draining the sink!!!!). Other than that, a winner for us.

Good base for a walking holiday.

Plenty to do in the area, even in the winter months. Whitby only 15 mins drive away. Toasty warm cottage. Good shower and comfortable bed. TV reception could be patchy on some days. Nice people and would go back.

The cottage is great for a few days away, the weather was so cold whilst we were away but the heating made the cottage so cosy to return to.

Its small but really cosy, great for out miniature schnauzer, she had a great holiday as well. I'm sure we will be back.

Good facilities and kitchen. A quiet rural location, but not far from Sainsbury's, Whitby etc. However it did not merit the euphoric comments in the visitor's book (Best ever etc etc ) For the price, I would have given it 5/5, but a few niggles lower it somewhat. We made fair comment in the book, but left a separate note for the owners along the lines :- No one ever enquired '' Everything OK? " We arrived on a very cold afternoon. Suspect no one in previous week, as the cottage was not warm. The extra electric heater ( mentioned on line ) was not working. We used our own fan heater to warm it up. Next day, all was cosy. One bedside light was not working - too small and low anyway. Grill pan handle not complete. One pan lid and handle had loose fixing screws. Kitchen taps very stiff Hardly any washing up liquid. Not much food storage space. Why 9 wine glasses(some dirty)? Tourist info! 2012 bus timetable !!!

Abbey view is a lovely little cottage.

We had an excellent stay due to it's location,which was ideal for exploring the N Yorkshire coast and moors and enjoyed returning to the comfort and charm of this super accomodation.
