    “The lodge, location and cleanliness was great, we had a lovely week and even better that it is dog friendly!”

    ! One thing we thought before coming was that the area would be a little more dog friendly and enclosed. We had to keep an eye on our dog whilst in the hot tub if any cars went by as Luna would want to see who it was. If this was fenced off then it would have been a little less stressful. Secondly, I think the place was missing slight amenities that would just make the stay easier. E.g. there was no frying pan, scissors, pizza cutter etc. even little things like kitchen roll, foil or oil ...

These are things that I know you don’t have to provide but we wasn’t aware we would need to bring, so it made cooking initially quite difficult. Thirdly, we thought there would be ponies in the front paddock and after hearing fresh eggs in the wooden store we were very excited, but there wasn’t any horses to see or any eggs when we checked. Lastly, the tv in the front room wasn’t great. We were unable to watch Netflix and it would kick us out due to being old/wifi connection (unsure what it was as the wifi was great on phones and other tv streaming). We didn’t watch a crazy amount of tv but I imagine if you had kids, this would have been a little bit of an issue. We did have a great time and we’ve come away from our mini honeymoon very refreshed. Seamer is a pretty village near the coast in North Yorkshire, with a charming blend of old and new buildings adding character to the area, while the main street boasts a collection of old stone houses. You have three traditional pubs serving tasty food, a supermarket, a general store with a Post Office and a church. Spend a day being entertained by all the seaside amenities of Scarborough, which can be easily accessed by car, where you will find parks and gardens, as well as its historic castle overlooking the town. Head to either the North Bay or South Bay for an afternoo stroll of sandcastle building on the beach and later you can grab a bite to eat at one of the pubs or restaurants. You also have the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough Spa and Scarborough Open Air Theatre for live music. Coastal walks can be enjoyed along the Cleveland Way and you also have the cycle route taking you on the old railway to Whitby, where you can climb its famous 199 steps to the ruins of the abbey. You are in a wonderful position for exploring Heritage coast and the moors, a superb base for a holiday in Yorkshire.
