“We had a wonderful holiday together: the location is perfect with the beach literally just across the road and lots of walks and sites of interest nearby.”

The house was warm and there were plenty of bathrooms and bedroom sinks. The bedrooms, lounge and dining room were all comfortable and roomy. The kitchen had plenty of crockery, cutlery and saucepans. The oven was large but a second shelf would have been helpful. There were cooking knives but they needed to be sharpened. Food storage in the kitchen, pantry and fridge was quite cramped and the two white shelves in the kitchen, that I think were intended for ornaments, were quite dirty when we arrived. Before we arrived we asked if oven gloves would be provided which, we were assured, would be but they weren't. This, however, was a small inconvenience.

About the location

SANDSEND

Whitby 2.5 miles.

Lying on Yorkshire's spectacular Heritage Coastline, Sandsend is the ideal place for a family holiday with its award winning, wide sweeping beaches, rock pools and dramatic cliffs. Indeed this part of the coastline is known locally as the Dinosaur Coast because of the many fossils found here. Children will enjoy damming the little beck where it crosses the beach to form a freshwater lagoon - great (and safe) for paddling and boating! For the more energetic the village sits on the lovely long distance Cleveland Way Trail, which offers great off-road cycling along the disused coastal railway as well as breathtaking clifftop walks. The National Trust now own the nearby headland, Sandsend Ness, where there is a delightful nature trail in the old quarry pits. A special place offering something for everyone!

Free Wi-Fi included.
Cot and high chair are available on request.
Well-behaved pets welcome at a cost of £30.00 per pet per stay.
There is private parking for one vehicle with ample on-street parking nearby plus a Pay and Display car park a five minute walk away.
