“Beechwood Vista is a very comfortable, well-equipped property in a quiet road with a magnificent view across part of the North York Moors National Park through the sitting-room window.”

There is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with plenty of empty cupboard space in the kitchen. The bedroom also faces the North York Moors and has plenty of storage space. The bathroom is spacious and the shower is amazing. There is a knack to flushing the toilet but my husband soon sussed that out (hold the button down for as long as you can!) There is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with plenty of empty cupboard space in the kitchen. The bedroom also faces the North York Moors and has plenty of storage space. The bathroom is spacious and the shower is amazing. There is a knack to flushing the toilet but my husband soon sussed that out (hold the button down for as long as you can!) We didn't go upstairs as there were only 2 of us and I saw no need, in that case, to brave the paddle stairs! The cottage was warm and cost although we didn't the warmth as the week wore on! We were lucky in that the bottom flat was unoccupied so we didn't need to park beneath the pesky pigeon tree nor worry about whether any noise that we made was disturbing anyone beneath us. We only had noise disturbance one night when an inconsiderate person was driving round and round in their very noisy car at 1 a.m.for quite a while but, apart from that, the peace and quiet was constant. Beechwood Vista is a short walk to the main road where the no 10 bus goes into Scarborough every 30 minutes and the X93/94 goes regularly in the opposite direction towards Whitby. The Whitby bus (10a.m) was only a single Decker and was standing room only so we only did that trip once and used the Whitby park and ride service after that. Nearby attractions are Whitby, Scarborough, Flamingo Land, North York Moors Railway and Mathewsons Car Auctions Showrooms (open to the public two weeks before each auction)- if you are a fan of the TV programme "Bangers and Cash"! We had a brilliant 5 days here and would definitely return-if the bottom flat was unoccupied again. Beechwood Vista was amongst one of the best holiday homes that we have stayed in so far.

Beechwood Vista is a lovely two-bedroom apartment that is ideal for families or groups of friends.

The apartment is just a short drive from the shore and is located on the fringes of the village of Scalby in North Yorkshire.

The apartment is open-plan, with a conservatory that lets in lots of light and a private garden where you can relax and enjoy the fresh air.

When you arrive, find your assigned parking spot before exploring your three-storey flat, which includes a conservatory and a utility cupboard with a washing machine on the ground floor.

Climb the stairs to the first floor to see the open-plan living area, which includes a contemporary kitchen with all of the main cooking appliances, such as an electric oven, a gas stove, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, and dining seating for up to six people.

Relax on the luxurious leather sofa with a cup of tea in hand while admiring the countryside views or catching up on shows on the TV.

After a day of excitement, head downstairs to the conservatory and curl up with a book.

Patio doors open out to rear enclosed garden and front off road parking area where you can watch the sunset.

As the evening draws in, retreat upstairs for a bubble bath or, if that's not your thing, a fast wash in the overhead shower.

A double bedroom with plenty of storage is located on the first floor, while a twin bedroom with a Velux window allows you to gaze at the stars is located on the second floor.

Scalby, a lovely village just a short walk away, has all you need, including a tearoom for a slice of cake, local pubs to immerse yourself in the culture, and well-stocked shops.

Get in the vehicle and head to Scarborough, a seaside town with lots to see and do, from exploring the town's many parks and gardens to seeing the castle and learning about its fascinating history.

About the location

SCARBOROUGH

Pickering 17 miles; Whitby 20 miles; York 40 miles.

Popular since Victorian times, the vibrant seaside town of Scarborough retains many of its original fine buildings, parks and gardens, as well as its historic castle which overlooks the town. North Bay and South Bay provide two superb stretches of beautiful, golden sandy beaches, popular with families and small children. There are a number of child friendly activities and many excellent visitor attractions for grown-ups too, including the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough Spa and Scarborough Open Air Theatre for live music. Scarborough is a great location for outdoor activities, with golf courses, lovely coastal walks along the Cleveland Way, stunning cycle routes such as the old railway to Whitby, beautiful sailing and championship quality surfing. Add to this all the usual seaside entertainment and bustling promenades located close to the beach and Scarborough is the destination with something for everyone. Ideally situated for touring the coastline and the moors, Scarborough is an ideal base for a fun-filled break.

Due to the paddle steps up to the loft bedroom, this property is not suitable for children under the age of 7.
