“Great space for a large group and ideal location next to Peasholm and North bay.”

Kitchen is very well equipped and modern. The rest of the house needs updating and cleaning, very dusty, dirty dining chairs, en-suites grubby, outdoor areas need a power wash. Still feels like a guest house as opposed to a large house.

We take issues with cleanliness very seriously and have already passed your review to our cleaning team, we expect better from them and will ensure our usual high standards ( as you can see from other reviews) are maintained every time. We’ve never been told in 3 years that we feel like a guest house, so we’ll have to agree to differ on that point. “We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in spite of the weather!”

Plenty of space including comfortable lounge. We thought the kitchen particularly good- spacious, clean and well equipped. Owner very quick to respond if needed. 4 out of our party of 12 found the beds uncomfortable but we recognise this can be personal preference re mattresses. Overall would highly recommend

“A well appointed and equipped clean house in a great location for all that happens in the nearby North Bay and only 15 minute walk to the Town Centre.”

We went off-season (but the weather was kind!) but the parking places would be a real plus in the main holiday season. Would go again if staying in Scarborough.

“Our family of 12 stayed here recently and had a fantastic time The house was immaculate, well equipped and spacious with the added bonus of the hot tub which everyone took advantage of.”

The location couldn't be better, very close to the beach and town. Couldn't go wrong with all the eating/drinking establishments! Would thoroughly recommend for large groups and we will hopefully return at some time in the future

“Having stayed in a few similar places in the area we can say this was by far the best.”

The owners provided a high quality guide of up to date information before our stay before we arrived allowing us to plan our trip and took up many of their recommendations many of which were a convenient short walk away. The house itself was as described with comfortable areas, with well designed warm and inviting rooms. The amenities had all the desired space which allowed multiple groups to enjoy their own activity without the disturbance of overlapping each other. A good example is the quiet snug well situated for reading far enough away from the music being played by the hot tub and the film being watched the Livingroom. The owners were helpful, informative and quick in response to our query making allowing you to relax. Well situated, great venue suitable for families or groups, I would highly recommend.

“A nice house within easy walking distance of the town.”

“Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday staying at North Beach lodge.”

There were 16 of my family staying (ages 72 down to 1), plus dogs with lots of space for everybody. The children really liked the snug and den where they could disappear, the hot tub was a treat and generally we were able to relax and feel comfortable. Property is very close to peasholm park with its interesting trails and to the north beach. The owners were quick to respond to a couple of minor queries we had and did so in a very friendly manner.

“Mattresses on beds a little uncomfortable, a few cobwebs in garden room leading to the hot tub, need new sofas they sag and buttons missing making it a little shabby, DVD player did not read any of the DVDS provided, knob on the plastic glass cabinet by the hot tub is loose and could come off if not careful, down stairs wc smells of drains and door handle needs attention, kitchen superb,and we all had a fabulous time.”

All these points are just minor and easily corrected we love the property and will recommend to friends and family

“We’ve had a brilliant time at North Beach Lodge.”

It comfortably accommodated 12 of us and our dog. They had thought if everything. The kitchen is really well equipped and there’s plenty of space to socialise and to just chill in one of the many little snugs. The location is just perfect too. Within a very short walking distance of the beautiful park, and all the north beach attractions plus several lovely eating places and the Water Park. What more could you want?

“Wow what a lovely big house it was amazing.”

With being a large group of our family there was plenty of room. A larger bin in the kitchen would be good or another extra one but otherwise everything was all there that you needed. We did find it too hot with the heating on and we couldn't turn it off. A grab rail in the downstairs cloak room would be handy. With having Rheumatoid arthritis the low toilets made it difficult for me, I did take my own bed rail. Just an amazing house in the right area and so quiet!!!! And my girls ( poodles) loved there holiday.

“Beautiful 3 storey Lodge with excellent facilities with a large dining room including a bar for your own drinks.”

Plenty of ensuite bedrooms to choose from, 2 lovely rooms with large TV's and a hot tub. So clean and well equipped in all rooms. Our group of friends thought this was an excellent location on the North Side of Scarborough virtually next door to Peaseholme Park and the beach. So close to a gorgeous cafe, award winning fish shop. Highly recommend this Lodge and would definitely return. Thank you to the owners too for the lovely welcome drinks and biscuit tray, chocolates and Prosecco.

“I would like to thank you for the excellent communication beforehand, we received very informative information which made our arrival run seamlessly.”

The property is well equipped, it has everything you need and much more! The property size was perfect for our party, there was plenty of rooms to suit everyone, including a games room, large kitchen/dining room and some lovely cosy living areas. The hot tub was an amazing touch to the property, our party really enjoyed using it, it was also ready for our arrival, thank you! “We stayed at the property during Christmas for 7 days.”

The property was very spacious and had everything we need plus more. It was a maze but in a good way (very good to hide away from the kids :-) ). It is very situated to the beach and walkable to town and supermarkets. We had a very small issue and although it couldn't be resolved due to Christmas, Justine was contactable and replied promptly during this break. From the very beginning, Angelo made our stay very enjoyable by contacting us prior to our check in to see if there's anything we need for our stay, answering my thousands questions :-) and throughout our stay, Justine was in contact to ensure everything was in order and we are all having a good time. We all had a very enjoyable break and I would definitely recommend this property to our friends and family.

All bedrooms are well presented and comfort table with en-suites in main house. Plus additional WC provisions. Communal facilities were ample and comfortable on each level. Kitchen and catering facilities were excellent suitable for large groups. The Dining room is large enough for whole family group. The parking provision is ample for 3 vehicles. Well positioned for the town and local facilities near by Really enjoyed our stay would definitely come again The team running North beach Lodge have provide excellent service

Property was clean and just what we wanted. It is in a great position close to the park, seafront, supermarket and all amenities. “This property is perfect for family and friends to spend quality time together.”

The house must be seen as photos do not do the property justice. We had from age 5-60 and everything was catered for. We have many cottage holiday and for us this was the best by far. Everything has been thought of for ease of catering, comfort and all round enjoyment, lots of space to have time to relax as well. The location is great for Scarborough and Whitby plus the surrounding areas. Truly a great place and great time had by everyone from England and France. “The House was in a convenient location for bus and train station as well as main Scarborough attractions.”

House was very clean and facilities were modern. Aside from a water pressure problem we liked: - The multiple compatible but separate dining tables – as you can configure them as required to suit the company. - Almost universal en-suite facilities. - Loved the motion sensing lights in the entrance porch, hallways, stairs and landings – very welcoming and practical. - Snugs great idea for quiet reading or game console rooms. - Effective wi-fi throughout. - Huge kitchen

“We were a family group, ages ranging from 11 months to 93 years, and 7 of us were children.”

Everyone had a great time. The house was well equipped, beautifully presented and comfortable and it was great to have playroom and games room for the youngsters so we old folk could relax in the lounge. We did find that the water pressure in the showers was unpredictable, and there were no instructions for the oven (but the owners responded really quickly by emailing the instructions and sending a helpful young man round!) The location is brilliant with loads to keep children amused, come rain or shine. A perfect seaside holiday.

“Amazing! What a fantastic house, decorated beautifully with great attention to detail.”

15 of us visited over Mothers Day weekend to celebrate 2 family birthdays, aged between 15 and 70 the house has something for everyone. The games room was a big hit with the boys, as was the Prosecco and chocolates that were left for us on our arrival. The hot tub is amazing! Comfortable beds, en suite rooms were a great bonus. Great location, 1 minute to Peasholme Park and 5 mins to the North Beach. Would highly recommend, and we will definitely be back, already been looking at dates to come back!

“Pros two cafes across the road and a large property for groups.”

Nice living room and kitchen. Cons - showers did not work, think limp and no constant temperature control. The beds were grim, yellow with staining on the base, if that’s your thing you’ll be happy here. Fancy letting out a very large property for groups with a hot tub next to a what looks like a retirement let. Sadly wouldn’t recommend.

Thank you for your feedback. It was great to welcome you to North Beach Lodge. As you can see, we are yet to receive any feedback in relation to the issue you mentioned with the showers and have double checked these since your stay and can find no problems? Additionally, the beds have also been checked and the issues mentioned have also not been found as this was also the first time this has been reported. When in the property, we would be more than happy to help and when chatting about your late night noise levels, you failed to mention any of these problems which we would have happily rectified immediately. Finally, as can be seen from the main photograph, we aren't next to a retirement home, but a lovely bed and breakfast who made us aware of the noise levels coming from the property very late on, following complaints from their guests. With the care and attention that has been put into North Beach Lodge, we would always be ready to fix any rare problem that might occur straight away and so we would hope that our guests would inform us before the end of their stay. As the person in charge of planning the trip, its such a relief to get amazing feedback from all guests. The owners left us two boxes of chocolates and two bottles of fizz which was a lovely touch. “In a prime location, North Beach Lodge provides excellent accommodation for large groups.”

Really well equipped kitchen, clean and well furnished en suite accommodation with very comfortable beds.Off road parking with electric charging point. The hot tub functions well and is an added bonus together with the games room. The owners have obviously dedicated a lot of time and effort into ensuring that clients enjoy their stay. Highly recommended

“Lovely relaxing stay in a warm comfortable house.”

Popular since Victorian times, the vibrant seaside town of Scarborough retains many of its original fine buildings, parks and gardens, as well as its historic castle which overlooks the town. North Bay and South Bay provide two superb stretches of beautiful, golden sandy beaches, popular with families and small children. There are a number of child friendly activities and many excellent visitor attractions for grown-ups too, including the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough Spa and Scarborough Open Air Theatre for live music.
